Nebulus

There are no weapon powerups in this game.
I planed to include some, but encountered heavy difficulties and performance issus by trying to implement a gradius style weapon system. That's why I switched to Unity for the sequel, which has the weapon features I wanted.
I know it's a big no-go to do such a game with only one weapon system, but I decided to leave it this way and finish the game instead of discarding it.

I wonder why so many people think this is a RM2k3 game. Maybe it's because of the excessive use of pictures. I can tell you, it was a pain in the ass to get this done with 20 picture IDs ^^.

No, really, this is pure RM2K stuff without a hacked .exe. The only patch that was used is Inelukis keypatch, which just adds an additional harmony.dll. Without the keypatch the diagonal movement would not be possible.

Anyway, thanks for your comment and sure there will be a sequel.

[Results!]Christmas Mapping Contest!

I don't know, if I'm allowed to vote, as I made an entry, but if I am, then:

Entrant: Link_2112
Reason for vote: I love retro Zelda

Dudesoft would have been my favorite if this was a drawing contest, but as it's mapping, I decided to vote for link.

Very nice screens in here

I'm gonna throw this one in, hope it's not too late ^^

First Overworld Layout

Oh, ok, blame me, as english is not my main language ^^

Thanks for the comments, I'm working hard on it

First Overworld Layout

Thank you.
I just put the buildings in place, of course that place need some fish, NPCs and some general polish.
The "sky" is moving, as it is the water surface you see from below. It's hard to see as the image size is reduced to about a half and maybe I used a wrong filter.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions, I will add some swimming fish in the area soon.

And no, it will be not commercial, the game will be completely free to download.
:)

Hello everybody!

I'm not that good in writing tutorials and as I am still in learning phase with that tool, there are tons of tutorials for it, that are way better than I could do that.

For beginners I suggest watching the tornado twins tutorial on youtube :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-X-Ebh1kYA&feature=channel_video_title

They show how to make a simple game from scratch and cover all basics of unity. You don't need any knowledge in making 3d games at all, everything is well explained.
The engine is usually referred to as Unity 3, as the current version is 3.4

Hello everybody!

Hello!
I am koaangel, which is just a lazy login nick, normally it is written KoA-Angel.
I'd like to introduce myself to you a little bit.

I'm a german indie game developer ( my english is not perfect, but it works) and was working with the RPGMaker 2000 for almost 10 years. I made some small games with that tool, which I would like to share with you, even if they are no longer up to date.
One year ago after my last RM2K Release I switched to Unity 3D, in which my current project is work in progress.
There are still some unfinished RPGMaker projects, that I might finish in the future, who knows.

Anyway, I am a great retro game fan and was happy to find another active RPGMaker Community.
So let's have a good time together, nice to meet you all.

That's why I wasn't sure to post the game here, but in the FAQ it said, other engines are accepted, too. And I saw a screen of another 3D Game here in the database, so I thought, it would be worth a try.
In worst case, it just wouldn't be accepted.

Aqua Nebulon

Yes, that's me.
Unfortunately I never finished Vortex. But yes, I'm still fooling around with tools to do crazy indie game stuff ^^
