I think the black is a bit too harsh. The black itself is drawing a lot of attention to itself, causing the other tiles to meld together a bit.

@arcan I'm probably not going to keep the black and white. I'm aiming for a parchment, black, and red color scheme to it. I want the menu to have a sort of quasi-scroll feel to it. Everything is really just placeholder there, especially the fonts.

It's set in China, specifically the idyllic and pastoral landscapes you see in old Chinese propaganda posters. So I'm aiming for a sort of painterly feel for the it.

I've been rough-sketching up tilesets and backgrounds, and a menu too. Going to try to code the menu later today. I've been having issues with the background-foreground separation and color. Don't really like the dark foreground at the moment.
