Need a large set of Facesets in Anime style art. [Closed]

Hello everyone! I'm looking to get some help with artwork for my game, Luxaren Allure. It's a pretty big job, but I thought I'd check here first in case anyone was interested.

I need around 60 face portraits (which will be used at 96x96 pixels, the standard VX Ace size) and 5 pieces of full-page art, in a cute anime-style. The game has some light yuri (lesbian) themes, so you'll have to be cool with drawing two girls kissing (which is one of the illustrations).

Here are examples of the facesets I need to be redrawn. They're facesets with a transparent background.

And here's an example of the full-page illustrations. They too will just be a figure (or figures) and a transparent background.

As for pricing, if you're interested, please let me know how much a project like this would cost. I know its not going to be cheap and that most artists have a good idea about how much they charge for art, and that it differs from person to person.

Thanks a lot! :D

WYRM WARRIORS: Design Equipment

During Liberty's Let's Try for the first release of Wyrm Warriors, she mentioned making items that referenced games on RMN and LockeZ provided an awesome list of them! And that got me thinking: It would be a lot of fun if we have a lot of equipment that is related to the RMN community. Unfortunately, I've only been on the site for half a year and don't know all of its rich ten-plus year history, (and I haven't played every game on here, by far XD) so I'll need help for this part.

What we're looking for is Equipment that references games on RMN and equipment that references users/events/memes etc from RMN. Here's a form for them:

Equipment Name:
Equipment Type: (Sword, shield, accessory, etc)
Description: (Will go in the description box in the game window. Make sure to keep it to a somewhat short sentence, as all equipment lists the stat changes and we'll need to make sure we have room).
Other Notes: (What stats should this boost? (other than what a weapon/armor of that type would)? Should it be found in a special place? Does it need to be found late or early in the game? List anything else that might be useful about it)

It'll mostly be loot and higher-tier stuff, as I'm not sure we'll get enough for every piece of equipment in every store (though I could be wrong ^_^).

When making items based on users, try to avoid anything hurtful or overly negative. Playful ribbing is fine as long as it stays at that level. We want to celebrate the community, after all.

Also, I'm totally fine and I actively encourage everyone to make an item based on themselves if they want. We're going to need plenty of gear, after all, and if you make an item based on yourself and someone else makes one too, chances are we'll have room for both.

You don't have to worry about exact stats, as I'll work with those based on when they appear in-game. Let's fill the game with as many cool community references as we can :D

[VX Ace] Lunatic States: Restore 1 MP

It's time for another episode of "unity and Code Problems!" :P

I'm trying to create a ring that restores exactly 1 MP per turn. I may be going about this is the most round-about way possible, but I'm using Yanfly's Lunatic States and having the ring put a state on the actor.

I'm not exactly sure how this would work. I tried putting "<close effect:self.mp+1>" in the states' notes, but it doesn't seem to work.

So my question is 1) Is there a better way to do this than with Lunatic States? And 2) If not, how would I do it with Lunatic States?

Thanks very much in advance. I know I ask for code help a lot, and I want to say thanks very much for being patient with me. I have trouble with all this ^^;;

[VX Ace] Limits on Map Size?

I've found that larger maps in VX Ace lag a lot on my laptop. For example, I made a 200 by 200 world map and when I enter it, everything slows to a crawl.

I know that, in this case, it's just a case of my laptop not being up to snuff to handle things, but that got me thinking: do any of you VX Ace developers set limits on how big you make maps in order to reduce lag?

[VX ACE] Quick Conditional Branch Code Question

Hello again! I once again have what's probably a very basic scripting question. ^^;;

I've noticed that VX Ace's Conditional Branch function, while usually great, can also be quite limited. I'm trying to get a conditional branch that will do something if Character #1's HP is less than 47%. I can't seem to do this with the standard options, but I notice that there's a "script" option on the last tab.

Would a line of script work that would trigger the conditional branch if Actor1's HP is less than 47%? What would the script look like?

Thanks much in advance, and sorry again for being such a scripting dummy XD

[VX ACE] Show Variables on Main Menu?

I was wondering if it's possible to have the main menu show a couple of variables above the gold counter in VX Ace (or, anywhere on the screen, really). I've seen at least one script that does this, but that one completely changes a bunch of other stuff and I don't think it'd be compatible with Yanfly's Ace Menu system, which I'm using.

If anyone knows a script that does this, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks a lot! :D

Arrow Attack Animation in VX Ace RTP

I'm working with the VX Ace RTP animations for the first time (as I usually use custom) and unless I've missed something, there's animation for guns but not for arrows. Ace seems to think that the Pierce - Physcial animation is for arrow attacks, but it seems better suited to, say, spears to me. What does everyone else generally use for bow/arrow attacks?

Accepting Criticism

One thing that anyone sharing her stuff on the web has to deal with is criticism, and, of course, it plays a huge role in the RPG Making process. Criticism stings, and many people want to avoid it altogether. I see people removing details about their games from threads once someone criticizes their way of doing things, and people who want others to play their games but desperately don't want any feedback that could be viewed as "negative" in any manner.

I think that overcoming this is an important part of being a developer. I know its tough. When I get feedback and it seems to be mostly about what the person didn't like about my project, I still get that churning feeling in my stomach and I have to tell the part of my brain that says "YOU ARE HORRIBLE" to shut up. And I learned that if I look beyond that, I can get a lot of great advice on how to improve.

I've heard people on this forum talk about how accepting criticism and knowing what advice to follow and what to ignore is a skill like any other, and I totally agree. I also know that Gam Mak is a hobby and how much time each person can spend polishing their project will vary. Having that said, I'm always a little irked when I see someone who has no tolerance for criticism and won't even address people's points or try to convey to the person offering the criticism on why they don't agree.

So I wanted to ask how people weigh the criticism that helps their games against the criticism that doesn't, and what's the correct way to respond to criticism that you disagree with, and how can people get over their fears of criticism?

Downloads Bewteen Your Demo and the Finished Version?

I have a question for everyone: After you've finished a demo for a game, do you just leave the demo as the downloadable until you've finished the game, or do you keep releasing the game periodically as you get new content?

I recently released a redone demo, and I thought that I wouldn't be putting up anything else until the full game is done. And then I realized "I learned so much from the feedback I got on the demo, perhaps it would be better to release the rest of the game in parts so I can get critique on it to make sure I'm doing alright as I go."

Given that this is my first game on this site, I'm curious about how others handle this.

EDIT: And I just noticed a silly spelling error I made on the topic title. I guess I can't change that? XD

Best RM Games With Only Default Resources?

So I caught myself being slightly snobby in another thread and complaining about too many people using the same default RTP windowskin in VX Ace. That got me thinking: perhaps what I'm tired of isn't the RTP resources so much as the RTP resources being used poorly.

So I was curious: What are the best RPG Maker games (for any version) that use little to no custom resources (almost all RTP)? Can anyone give recommendations on games like that? And has there ever been a contest where everyone was forced to use purely RTP?
