XEILMACH'S PROFILE

I love drawing since I was a toddler and decided to make RPGs to get practice and challenge. My main work is the "SEKAI" series which takes place in a "modern" modern setting since there's not enough of those around.

Character Development?

For me, I find it easier to develop characters if I were to based them on someone that I personally know as well as experiences of interactions that I have had with him or her. You might actually realize that that person is pretty interesting and that you may appreciate him or her more.

edit: Plus, I find it fun to see what can I come up with when I put that person in certain situations and how they would react

P.A.CMAN

Seems awesome. I love random short games, because I don't have much time to go through long gameplay nowadays. I would love to see more stuff like that.

The Cartographer Review

I like how calunio is like the mod of reviews. I agree with him on what he said since that's what I thought so, too, upon my first read through of his, but I failed to notice the writing technique during the transition from he first paragraph. Overall, good review nonetheless in expressing yourself clearly.

Nice to see you getting back

Actually, the characters are fine the way they are now. It helps provide some contrast from the background.

^ Yes, I agree. Despite what people think of this results, if you believe in the integrity of this system, then go for it. Even if you don't, show some support for the games that you like. Maybe the system will become better with support. If not, then at lease some developer is happy that they at least got a vote.

Also, I'm new to this system, can you change votes prior to the end?

Thanks.

Why are a lot of us dicks?

Deterioration happens due to the lack of knowledge and understanding. It can't be helped as not everyone knows everything. Thus cannot share compassion. But, there's one thing that may help.

Everyone, not just people here or on the Internet, but everyone in the world should live by the rule:
* If you don't have something nice to say, then don't say it.

There's no loss or gain on either side, because those words has not existed that can affect anything - create consequences (positive or negative, not just negative). No one takes an offense, and no one gets a retribution and start an endless cycle of showing our lack of knowledge. We can go into all psychological and philosophical discussion about that and whatnot, but let's not and there's no point.

Simply, just follow that rule and maybe, just maybe we'll see some pleasant changes around here.

cause of diminished interest in game creation

I suffered with this during the making of my game to the point like it was OCD where ideas stayed in my head and I dream about what to do next. I thought to myself, "once I'm done with this, I'm retiring from game making for good, because it's just so draining." I am kind of retired now, but since I have been making games for 10 years now (only to have 1 finished), it's hard to suddenly just stop.

If I ever get back into game making, I'll be sure to take like breaks worth a few days every once in a while.

2010 Misao Winners

I want to say congrats to the developers of Vacant Sky and Alter Aila: Genesis for breaking excitement into 2010. I also want to congratulate those who have accomplished their completed games or demos as well for the public.

For 2011 and the future, let's not have developers solely go for the next Misao category swiper, but have developers create something from their hearts to just share their talents or experiences to the public and express themselves. I know Vacant Sky and Alter Aila weren't doing that and just concentrating on teling their stories in their own ways, and that's what made them so exceptional.

The Misao may give recognitions to games with extraordinary aspects, but we got to remember that we all each have the power to recognize the greatness in other developer's games. Dropping by to say "Hi, I love your game" may not be a Misao award, but it's more than enough to cheer up and motivate the developers.

Anyhow, I wish all developers and players to look forward to a fun and great 2011.
