Inside the "nonfiction horror" theme, is it ok if I make a game that reenacts a real world murder?

Which, very strangely, I just found out happened on an October 31st? :O
"Killer Machines" will be doing a survival-horror game in RPG Maker VX Ace.
The working title is the same as our team name.

I am seriously thinking of doing something in the vain of Castlevania with SMBX, with completely custom sound and graphics. It would take a hell of a lot of work and I'd have to get started like... Now.

Then I guess you better get to work! Good luck!
I hope that people will follow the rules this year, unlike last year.
All necessary files must be included in the download.

What do you mean? People were leaving out files to reduce size?

All necessary files must be included in the download.

That really discriminating for people who have a slow internet speed. Just keep the RTP excepted with this rule. Beside RTP is always the same so why waste hard drive space if 30 same file from 30 different games are the same.

The biggest problem is that the RTP must ALWAYS be installed on the comp the game is being played on when the game was made with VX Ace Lite. It is weird, even when the folder includes the ENTIRE RTP it still tells the person it needs to be installed, and then it doesn't even draw from it! The blasted thing draws from the included files only and doesn't work if any are missing from inside it!

Or at least that has been the way with both of the games I've made with "VX Ace Lite".

Well but Everyone expected that the majority of RMN had all the RTP installed.
And I already created the game page for the game. Even there is no progress yet.
You say it is by podcast that results are announced, but for those that are deaf, can it be by text at the same time?

Thanks.

Maybe there needs to be a TTY/TDD version of it.
Sucks I started a day late,hopefully I don't have to rush stuff.
Interesting, now I only need a good idea...and stop working on my current game for the time being. :X

You have to open the Game.ini file with a text editor and change the second line "RTP=RPGVXAce" to "RTP=", for it to stop asking for the RTP.
Yeah but nobody wants to download an RTP ver when they have all the sound effects etc. And uploading with the intended RTP material is always so painful especially with bug fixes =_=

Unless you have fiber optic internet thingmajing.

Really tempting, but sorry. :(

This school semester is trying its best to kill me in my sleep, and I have another RPG project in the works that's going too slowly already.

Maybe next time, eh?

Good luck everyone!

Yeah, that's an ideal way to use the theme.
