Nothing reveals Humanity so well as the games it plays. A game of betrayal, where the most suspicious person is brutally murdered? How savage.

in 10 I would rotate each character into the fight every single battle as they would all get experience points that way.

I definitely did that all the time, except for revisiting/capturing earlier monsters that give very little exp anyway.

I was never particularly attached to Cait Sith, and found his death sequence over-done. That a replacement shows up during, like, the very next scene is definitely more than a little awkward, given the send-off they gave him.

I mean, the game hints that a replacement will happen, and the implication I gathered on first play is that it wouldn't be so soon, or even automatic. Though, if getting a replacement at all was a shoehorned-in idea, I think I just have to laugh it off.

Yeah, was never fond of Cait Sith. He forces his way into the party. He's got cool abilities...that you will never have a practical use for. And then, yeah, that death scene. You know going in that he isn't really dying, and then the other one shows up as the old one is being destroyed? Talk about a pointless scene, and because you already know that Cait Sith is just a guy in Midgar somewhere, there's totally no emotional weight to the scene, but they have spouting purple prose as if it's two different Cait Siths. Cait Sith is a meh character that was intended to be cute, but is just annoying, and that would be forgivable, except he's also got the worst and most emotionally pandering scene in the game.
What is a good example of a solidly made sci fi visual novel with a satisfying amount of content? I'm going to play DRAMAtical Murder Re:Connect as a reference, but I was wondering if any of you folks have some more recommendations.

Never played a VN before!

Never been too fond of Visual Novels, but umm...

Deponia. Play this freaking game. That is all.

That's not all, actually.

I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, and Ringworld are both pretty old, but they're still really great stories, and they were made in the point and click era so they have significantly more gameplay than the typical modern VN (or at least the ones I've seen).

Actually, I would swear Makio Kuta made a really neat sci-fi-comedy for a jam here in the past couple of years. If I could ever remember the name, I'd definitely recommend it.

EDIT: Got it! U. U. P. Gemstar!
how is this game 400mb? did you accidentally include an episode of Friends in the exe package?

I wonder what exactly "an episode of Friends" means. Could it be some kind of metaphor? Friends is a very good show mind you!
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Yeah, VNs were never my cup of tea.

Not a visual novel no, but if you're a fan of adventure you should definitely follow piano's advice! Deponia's really good. All of Daedalic's adventure games are good, but there's just something about Deponia's art style and characters that elevates it above the rest.

It's just the TV show, lol. A video file of an hour long TV show is a couple hundred megabytes in size.

A video of an old, low-def show like Friends, yes.

A video of an HD show is much, much larger.

I tried; I consumed 20 cold med pills before playing. Didn't really click.
Maybe I'll up the dose tonight, I do have a cold.

Another idea is just snorting some horse tranquilizer instead. I have some pain in my foot.

Medication and video games = love

I'm personally not fond of sci fi so the only game I can think of is Danganronpa which only has some mild sci fi near the ending parts.

I hear 2064: Read Only Memories is pretty good aswell. That looks sci fi. Or rather, cyberpunk, but I can't even tell the difference since they're both the same to me.

Edit: Just looked up the difference. Well, ok, apparently they are not the same to me as I can at least stand sci fi while I can barely stand cyberpunk. Aliens > Corrupt Governments.

What gave you that idea?
To each there own I guess, but that sounds kind of dangerous and not exactly fun zoe. And here I was thinking I was crazy, now you say this?

Oh that was just a joke, though I thought there might be some kind of hidden substance to VA-11 HALL-A and I liked the idea of using some aid to help me see it.

Just a joke though I don't like drugs they are dirty and are for losers >_>''

A sci-fi VN? Man, if Memories Neverlasting ever had a public download, I would suggest that. I played a private demo way-back-when, but, it's this weird mix of RPG and VN elements and has mechs.

*Edit: Also, even if it had a public demo, the "satisfying amount of content" point might kick it out of consideration, now that I think on it. As far as I know, it hasn't moved an iota since I play-tested that demo. Then again, the dev has gone commercial with a different project, so, that game was probably put aside (maybe forever) to focus on that.

I really like crime visual novels with actual interactivity and gameplay, like Ace Attorney and Dangan Ronpa. Of course, both of those are at the border of what can be considered a visual novel, due to the fact that they have gameplay.

I also really like Umineko and somewhat less Higurashi though, and those are legit visual novels. But I do really miss the interactivity there. I feel like the red truth/ blue truth thing in Umineko could easily have had gameplay if the game gave you a list of all red truths and then allowing you to choose from a list of possible blue truths.
^ Have you ever played the Fedora Spade series? If not: They're freeware Game Maker games. A bit more on the "old PC graphic adventure" side of things, with menus and inventory and such. It's been a long time since I played those, though, so I have no idea if they're still easily found on the internet.

To offer a second opinion, I have heard that Deponia contains a significant amount of transphobic stuff, and Valhalla is basically just an anime waifu simulator so... Yeah. Might not be the best stuff to support.

This is just what I've heard though. I have never played either of them, but I trust the opinions of the people I heard it from enough to steer clear.
