MUSIC/ART PROGRAMS?

Alright, I am in desperate need for good programs for Music and Art (*cough* wow, I bet you would've never guess that from the name) and I'm curious as to what everyone else uses? If possible (and hopefully free) anyone wanna give me links to where I can download such programs? I'm preferring programs in the neighborhood of creation over editing, but both would be greatly appreciated.
Well, GIMP is a great open source graphical editor. Takes a bit to learn, but it has just about as many features as photoshop, and you don't need those for pixel art anyway. I use Audacity for music, though I only edit. You can create using it though.
Music: Audacity & Anvil Studio (free)
Art: Paint

That's what I use. I don't remember the links to Audacity or Anvil though.
Eh, that's alright. It's not like I can't google for it or anything.;D
For art i mainly use Paint to resize images and such and to create five minute sigs to use.
I can't live with out the program Ifranview (This is only for editing not creation though). Much better than Paint at decreasing colour depth and resizing too. Very handy
yeah, i use irfanview a lot mainly just to resize images etc if i'm not already using paint to do so.
I take Graphics Gale (http://www.humanbalance.net/gale/us/) for spriting. Very useful, pretty easy. Music, Anvil Studio (http://www.anvilstudio.com/) is probably the most popular.
