Rules and Such Stuff:
The Rules:
1. Online, DM rolls dice. Offline, players roll dice. That way there's no trust issues or anything.
2. Players decide what to do, without direction. You can decide to do literally anything that would physically make some sort of sense.
3. Player cannot godmode and tell the DM what happens; only what they try to do. (If it's funny enough, it'll probably work!)
4. Drag-Master rolls 1d6 to decide the outcome of any choice. Battle damage has it's own rulesets.
5. Don't take it too serious, and have fun!
The System:
-Each enemy defeated gains a player 1 EXP.
-Each level up costs the same EXP as the next level cost. (To reach Level 3, you require 3 EXP. Etc.)
-On even levels, you gain 1 HP and 1 MP.
-On odd levels, you gain 1 Super Power Boost. (Eg. A flame-user super hero, can get a Flame Wall or Fire Bomb as a new 'skill' within the chosen ability pool.)
-Gameplay happens where everyone posts their action, dialogue or otherwise, and then a 'game post' by me will happen. Very similar to the Final Fantasy RPG.
Skills:
At the start you make up a super power. Be it generic or weird. We'll make it work.
From there, addition 'power ups' will increase the strength of your current skills, and grant you more elaborate uses.
Your first skill will be 1d6 strong. Second skill will raise it to 2d6. And so on.
However, if you decide to gain a new type of power, say Healing Factor, then it would start at 1d6, and the original power set would not grow in strength.
Only restrictions: You cannot tell me what happens. So a power that outright kills people, is no good. The goal here is to have a few laughs, after all!
Each skill uses 1 MP, and MP will reset after every battle.
Any special skill rules will come up as we play.
If you want to have a Batman-style powerless character, then PM me and we'll hash something out. Make sure to grab your spot ASAP though!

Do I need any sort of Dungeons and Dragons know-how to play this? (I have no knowledge of D&D, or this, for that matter)
Anyway, I'll join.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Edit: never mind gonna do it right and make it more traditionally superheroey
Name: Diamond
Sex: Male in stone form / Female in human form
Weapon: Body is made out of stone. Punches the living shit out of things. No fighting style is used, nor any needed, with this kind of raw power.
Power: Involuntary Shapeshifting. Diamond never really got the hang of the shapeshifting thing, and can only do it accidentally when panicking. When stressed, afraid or threatened, Diamond involuntarily transforms into the form of a small human girl, approximately seven years old. In this form she doesn't have any strength and can't really do much of anything. This almost invariably happens at the beginning of any situation where it would be useful to be a giant stone golem.
Costume: In stone form, he looks like a nine foot tall walking stone statue with ridiculously huge muscles. The stone is brown and jagged. He doesn't wear clothes, but he has the shape of pants basically carved into his natural statue-like form.

3 is enough to start with. The other two are optional and can join as we go.
I'll make a Game Post later tonight, and we'll go from there. That should give stragglers a chance to join last minute.

I love that we're all such completely shitty super heroes.
I guess it wouldn't make much of an RPG if we started out powerful.

How dare you say that?! I'm a completely wonderful and FABULOUS!! superhero!
Okay, let's get things rolling, shall we? I've thankfully had some time to mull this over with some of the other players, who are playing via cellphone texting one-on-one. They will effect your game, and you all will effect there game.
My thoughts of making it strictly modern day just sort of clash with the whole vibe of this game. So it won't quite be. Kind of fantasy medieval meets steam era, with big cities.
-----------
Game Post 1
The setting is a quazi-slapstick medieval fantasy world. Anything mythical or fantastical exists in some form or another. You will be in the farthest north-eastern tip of the country named Rumpturnip. A county that was plagued by a zombie infestation for the last 100 years. It is a sovern nation, south of Frankfoil, north of Ferngullythemovie, and west of the vast wasteland that was once Essenogglefruit. To the east lies the Great Sea.
It is the Age of Steam, and you have all just finished a day's work on the railway system leading to Hubland City.
None of you have special abilities to begin with, you're just working class joes. None of you are known except by your co-workers and families who are all in the slums of Hubland City.
Together, after said long day's work you are in the tavern named Loose Noose. The tavern is well-lit, and merry. The townsfolk of Bakerville are overjoyed by the fact they're finally joining Hubland City by train. The long horse ride to the big city was a terribly long journey. Promises of trade and tourism in their quaint little town has kept the Loose Noose lively ever since the railroad began construction.
The four of you are acquainted, and are sharing a small round table to yourselves while the townsfolk dance about to the swinging music played by Bards.
To play, each of you selects something to attempt (similar to other forum RPGs) and we go from there. I will of course roll 1d6 to determine the outcome. 1 being worst case outcome, and 6 being best case outcome.
You can literally decide to do anything that makes physical sense to you. If you can justify it, go for it. If it's completely unrealistic, don't bother. Remember: The dice decide what happens. You only get to decide what you want to TRY to do.
Inventory for everyone starts with the following:
-1x Sledgehammer (1d6 attack damage) Worth 15 gold
-1x Filthy Coveralls (-5 Style) Style determines how much people will like/associate with you. Worth 1 gold
-1x Filthy Hat (keeps the sun from your eyes!) Worth 1 gold
-1x Filthy Boots (no rough terrain damage) Worth 1 gold
-20 Gold

So we don't have powers yet? That means we get them later? I'm going to decide that, until gaining his powers, Diamond is currently an adult male. I guess his full name is Neele Diamond.
I whistle impolitely at a barmaid to get her attention. I order a Burning Devil from her, which my character thinks is a name of a drink he overheard at some point the name of from someone he can't remember, and assumes will probably be impressive.

Luckily my super power only enhances my normal niceness.
I say hello to the random people around the tavern, and ask about the local community. If I see any sad people, I'll try and cheer them up. I'll also order some milk.

Filthy Coveralls, Filthy Hat and Filthy boots? Not FABULOUS!! at all. I'm going to search for some more stylish clothing.
I lean against a wall trying to look tough and not at all scared like I really am. I also put 10 gold coins in my left pocket and 10 gold coins in my right pocket. Just in case I get mugged...
Game Post 2
The only two to remain at the round table are Neele Diamond, a studly sort of man that women swoon over, and the AVERAGE Wes. The barmaid arrives, her chest barely contained by her girlish frock. "Good patron, can I refill your ale?" However, it is the daring swill known as Burning Devil that Neele requests and at that, the woman gasps politely. "My good sir, that is a real man's drink. You are as manly as you are handsome! What a tragedy it would be for anything to happen to your swoon-worthy good looks! At once I shall bring you this drink."
At that, the barmaid timidly backs away and whispers to the barman.
All the while, Alex leaned against the wall, shifting coins between pockets. The strange eyes of predators watching him carefully from across the facility.
The AVERAGE Wes hums and huffs about his drab attire, eyeing some of the brightly coloured sundresses of the dancing women here. Then, Wes notices a man at the other end of the bar. The man kisses a woman in a pink dress on the neck and wanders into the bathroom. The man is wearing suspenders of GREEN! Easily +2 Style. No one else has entered the bathroom in some time. It is likely he's alone in there...
While the rest hang back, Rhys is quick to head into the crowd and shake hands, kiss cheeks, and dance the night away. He is so liked that the barman is inundated with free drinks for this fine Rhys chap. All four of you will be drinking for free tonight.
Along the many happy greetings, Rhys meets the stranger who is smoking a pipe next to the fireplace on the north wall. The man is draped in a wool blanket, and seems to have lines of concern etched into his face. He is unmoved by Rhys' cheery niceness.
Also to note, the Loose Noose is your Inn at the jobsite. The company you work for is paying your expenses in town for sleep and food, so you do not have to worry about paying rent.

Suspenders aren't really my style, and I'd probably have to steal that guy's suspenders, and I'm not a big fan of stealing things, but I cannot wear these drab duds any longer! I have no choice, I must go into the bathroom and steal that man's suspenders. That is what I shall do. And I will look FABULOUS!! doing it, because I am not just AVERAGE.
I feel that I am being watched and go into the bathroom to escape the eyes of my observers. Under normal circumstances I would have stayed, but this wasn't a normal feeling. It felt like something unholy was peering directly into my soul. Besides, there's nothings going on out there I want to be a part of (or at least that's what I keep telling myself).
