This still cracks me up. Why not find a better reason for a female character to be kicking all kinds of ass aside from "she's on her period"?

jfc that's the most sexist thing i've heard all day
you do realize people who get periods still go about their daily lives while on their periods, right? like, this is what tampons and pads and painkillers are for? and that some people don't even get that much pain or bleeding?

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I didn't expect to click on this topic and be subjected to reading about menstruation in RPGs
This is a horrid approach to game design. If it doesn't add anything to your game, there's no point. For example - yeah, day/night cycles can be cool, but if I randomly decided to add them because I can it would be pointless because they'd serve no purpose. Likewise, adding a menstruation mechanic wouldn't only be pointless, it would actually take away from my game because the idea is so utterly absurd and quite sexist (and really, would just be annoying)

Here, here! Throw off the shackles of mandatory crafting/fishing systems, 8-directional movement, blue magic, steal, mini-games, day/night events and block pushing/ice sliding "puzzles"! If I've missed any keepsakes, please let me know.

Oh god. ^_^;
My approach to gaming is to ask myself, "Can I program it? Has it been done before? Moreover, has it been done this way before?" I playtest my own game. So I would want a game that would be exactly the same boring stuff as every title by Square? Sure, I like having fans of the game, but ultimately, if I'm not okay with the game, why work on it?
Given that:
1. I actually knew how to program it in
2. I can't think of another game here that has this mechanic
3. And if they did, it's not integrated but a sort of plot point or something
I figured I wanted it in. Anway, I don't have to explain myself, it was cool so I added it in. Why would you put something that isn't cool into your game?
Also... what's this about forced encounters with bears?

Sometimes when nobody else is doing something, it's for a reason; and for that matter, it can't really be "cool" if only one person does it, right?

I wouldn't say more controversial, just that the application and 'effects' as outlined are ill informed. Though at the very least they are easy to refute.

In my game Estopolus (which really needs a new review by the way since the one i have is so outdated it's not even funny anymore) http://rpgmaker.net/games/4456/ you play a white guy and have, at one point, chose a relationship between a white demon woman or a black guy. there is no other option you must chose between one of them^^

I wouldn't say more controversial, just that the application and 'effects' as outlined are ill informed. Though at the very least they are easy to refute.
Exactly that. If you call that "realistic" .. then you're far off.
But it does seems to be a big black scary void for many guys. And the exposure to the topic is much higher whilst staying a black void.
.. but I can't find any of those topics that appalling, should they be done decently.
