From what I've experienced, it's usually a bad idea to bring IRL friends in the game. Most of them would go MIA (like that one dude with the creepy chucky avatar from cave's game...-shivers-)

I also have neither trust or distrust for Cavedog ATM. The act is his way. If you don't have a level act you will always seem one way or the other. Despite being town last game I acted secretive of information. No it didn't help town, unfortunately. Although in the future when I am mafia or whatever else, I hope to eliminate 'tells'.
I'm still working on how to do this properly.
Anyway in that mindset, Cave's irratic aggression is normal. He is acting normal, which gives nothing. Just wait for a slip up, that's all you can do.

Just goes to show we all make mistakes when we play mafia, so Unity shouldn't feel too bad about helping to make a new rule~
Hee, thanks ^_^ It was also an important learning experience for me about how to play.
On to the current game, the setup is pretty fascinating. For one, we have a win condition that's not "kill all the mafia." If the assassin can't find his target in time, we win.
Our own lynches also carry a bit more danger, it seems. In the past, the worst we could do is accidentally lynch a power role like a cop or doctor. Now, it's possible we could lose the game if we lynch the Tenkai (unless he has some lynch-proof ability or something).
I've never played this sort of setup before. Has anyone else, and if so, any tips on how our play should differ from normal mafia games?
Again, I don't know Cave. I've never really followed these threads (except the last few days of the last one, which is what got me interested), and this my first interaction with Cave. First impressions. That's all.

So thoughts so far:
Uh I tend to do this a lot so I'm definitely biased here but I don't really find this suspicious at all. If you're busy the best thing to do is to pop in and say so rather than lurking completely.
I can't really tell with CAVE but seeing how he acts as a mod this is definitely how I'd expect him to act as a player. It's too bad Liberty isn't playing we could really use her cave-dar.
Also have we just come to the consensus that YM is not the assassin? Because of the time thing?
Um the ivory thing was a little weird. But really it's too early in the game for me to have any solid opinions on who is scum or not. It's going to be extra tough since there is only one assassin so we won't be able to use peoples interactions as much of a tell as normal.

Aaaah! Unity! I made a joke about how new players should mod kill immediately and I hope it didn't come off as me being a dick about your play style last game and if it did I'm really sorry! You shouldn't feel bad about it. (and we all do make mistakes, like at the beginning of last game I edited posts, and then later posted vaguely outside the thread about mafia which is an obvious no-no.)
I would like to point out that when YM and the other 'supposedly late' people jumped on, I was still sending PMs out (and stopped doing that in order to grab extra characters... which I then mixed around again with the ones I hadn't sent out yet) so... you know, you can't really know at aaaaaaaaall.

No worries, I'm trying to have a sense of humor about the whole thing ^_^ And you're right, it's a live-and-learn situation :D
