You need to make games to learn how to do it well. You can't get all huffy and "delete fucking everything" the second someone doesn't like your first game.

Whoa... what is this game Christamoose? LOL

I am absolutely positively confused and excited.
MOAR SCREENIES

Can you find out what this is by now?
Christamoose, please don't spam the thread! Give others a chance to be seen as well as leave comments, okay? Also, if you've an extra image to show, edit your previous post instead of double-posting, please. It's against site rules to deliberately multi-post.

I'm not sure what that game is... bar that it appears to be a troll game perhaps. >.<;
@Corfaisus: Just an idea, but I had a similar map in a scrapped (well, repurposed) project that functioned as a series of pictures. It might be a bit more player-friendly if you shrunk the map so that it's the size of one screen, then placed simple icons and text on the map for each location, then have a picture cursor that immediately goes from location to location with a button press--basically just streamlining what you've got. It might not be worth the time investment if you're working with a deadline, but it shouldn't take too long to implement, really, especially if you're used to working with pictures.

@Unity, Max, Craze, Suzy, Yuna: Thanks! He was originally going to have big cartoon Mickey Mouse gloves, but when I was drawing the outline, the hands started out more human and I was like, yep, that's fucking creepier; we're doing that.
@Christamoose have to agree that game is rather troll-like
@PepsiOtaku that looks cool, especially having to murder all those sheep
@Nemo looks wonderful, I like the dark green grass and pointy mountain tops
@Corfaisus nice, but I agree with Liberty that the rtp might look a better if they're recoloured to sepia to suit the map. that being said, it looks okay enough as it is
@Housekeeping, think you made the right choice, not sure big cartoon gloves would have been all that scary!
Been a while since I posted any screenshots, but since there's a new thread I might as well.

Part of a volcano slope map with panorama over the landscape surrounding it.

@Christamoose: I have to say, Cat Dog A Awesome Quest looks like it would definitely be my girlfriend's favorite RPG Maker game ever. It is more or less the game she has been asking me to make for years.

next rmn event: cat and dog rm* game contest

Damn. I was holding off on putting any screenshots of this project, but I'm not going to pass up a chance to be on the first page of a screenshot thread:

Things subject to change: definitely the hp/mp bars and who knows what else. Hoping to announce this project either later this month or in early January. It's going to be a big one!

This is fucking awesome.
Actually it's just a computer simulation game
not a troll game

man i never thought simulating RMN in a game would be that much fun
BizarreMonkey
I'll never change. "Me" is better than your opinion, dummy!

I'm here to punish Liberty for offending my madcap OCD. Screw you Lib! :q

Jokes all aside, came back after three days and saw this was locked, I at first assumed it was gonna be drama but nope, just Lib trolling, so that's fine!

Why was I away for three days, you ask? Oh, just to finish that game off that I refuse to shut up about, so nyah!

I WIN!

Alright, I'll give some proper feedback before i go ranting my mouth off about my shit, let's begin with ... HOUSEKEEPING! :B (Not to remind him of anything he may have unswervingly agreed to do tho, shhh!)

Looks good, if it's anywhere near as well taut as The Heart Pumps Clay I'll be sure to give it a look.

For the sake of trying something new - and to cut down on development time significantly (because I don't already have an ice cube's chance in hell to finish by Christmas) - I decided to bust out the ol' tablet and draw myself a world map, using points and graphics from the RTP basis tileset to dot the land with locations. Due to the shortness of the game, I actually had to scratch my head about how I'd portray this region properly without making it feel empty, and this just seemed like the best solution.

snop1

This is the full map.

snop2

This is the map in action. You'll use the cursor (changed the hero's walk graphic to this cursor graphic I put together some time ago) to choose where you want to go by hovering it over a town/dungeon/etc icon on the map.
Haha, that's somewhat like how i do space exploration, my next game i intend to have the maps hand painted/drawn or whatever. First though i have some projects to finish off.

So, what have I been doing? Eh, had to improvise and settle for less on the optional content side, don't get me wrong, there is still a LOT to do, but I'll be making a patch later to do the rest. I've been gone for the past three days from everywhere to get this done, so as you may imagine there's a good chance i have some stuff to show... yes and no! There's a lot that's been done, but I've been so busy I haven't taken screenshots, deary me!

But, worry not, I did take a couple just now.
The Necropolis

Even with widescreen I can't get it all. :/

Here's an optional boss.

And here's another. ;)

Yes, it is just a repaint of Celui que Entré Douzième, but shhhh!
I'm not sorry. ^.^

@BizarreMonkey That video looks super fun! Great ideas!

Coming up next - not all entirely RTP!
ESBY
extreme disappointment

@Melennin - I like it but I don't think the sky parallax works. Just looks odd cutting from tree to sky.
@BizarreMonkey - Not the biggest fan of the graphical style but that gameplay video looks really good.

Master Chibi? I hope so.
Guess what? Another horror game! RPG Maker edition! Scariness not included

I'm tired of the thousands of "horror" games that have come out lately, it all started with that shitty game about slenderman and the 8 pages, and now we have tons of indie horror games and 90% of them suck, so what I'm gonna do about it? Make a horror game too!

Although this kinda different, it parodies Slenderman (8 pages and hours of walking on a forest, don't forget your boring monster!)and Five Nights at Freddy's, (The game has nothing special, but it still manages to have a huge fan base and lots porn) it starts as a another horror game but adding obvious cliches and making a not so scary monster (A bear in a office suit? Cool!)

I hope that people won't start screaming "RIP-OFF!!!" or start saying "realy sacry gam 11/10"

Oh, I forgot, It is too dark?
