I'm so tempted to snag this off Steam and make my other planned game in it instead of VX Ace.

Last time I made a project in rt2k3, adding a battle animation in the map when another battle animation is already in effect would cancel the first one. does anyone know if there was ever a patch fixing this or if the official release has this covered? Just for closure.
I remember having to use a priority-system determining which would be best to show and which other to discard for the moment. Was kinda annoying.
So... a non-Steam release.

When can we expect one?

Well, in that case, sorry. Either I didn't pay enough attention or it was anwsered before I started following the thread.


I do think multiple battle animations on the map or during fights would be really, REALLY useful due to Battle Animations' greater FPS compared to Pictures and the fact that they don't stop when a dialogue box is on-screen.

However, I'm not sure if it would actually be harder than raising the stats limits or if it would mess with the way animations show up during battles.
So tempted to get this to show support but I don't have fond memories of 2k3 when I did use it. plus i still need to get VX ACE, still in the past :s
Bug report!

If you have enough elements that you get the verical scroll bar whenever something redraws the list of elements it blanks out the entire list except what you're working on. Changing your selected element will draw it but if you change it it'll go blank again.

Hitting 'delete' on the battle commands screen leaves an outline of the cursor on a different item.

VX and Ace had an option in the menu that would open a new explorer window in your gmae's root folder. Would it be possible to add that to 2k3 as well? It's handy when you need to do asset management stuff and you can get your game folder quickly (and accurately!)
About your bug report: I'm not sure what exactly you mean. Which elements, where, what?
I think they are probably referring to the "Attributes" that influence attack/skill damage- having enough attributes so a scrollbar appears makes the list display kind of glitchy. I actually remember having this same problem a decade ago so I don't think it's unique to this 1.10 version or anything.
Speaking of glitches that 2k3 has, I haven't even used the new yet, but if the new 2k3 is anything like the old (probably), when I delete-copy-paste to replace alot of code at once (happens ALOT for Battle Events), the process can slow stuff down while it sort of processes for a second. Though this is just general lag and not a real glitch.

Also, if you're editing events (I can't remember exactly, but I think it was selecting commands) and you have the map in the background, sometimes the screen goes bold for a second and lags, I have to sort of click the screen again to get it to finish. I can't pin down this last one exactly, because it's either specific to my computer/ the OS/ 2k3.

In general, making mass copying less laggy would be a thing.
I just noticed that, while working on the project converter, most RTP resources are exactly the same as the RTP translated by RPG Advocate, but the Ship tileset is subtly different. All the tiles are basically equivalent, but there are differences in their look and feel.

I'm pretty sure that if there is any difference it's because the RPG Advocate version was changed from the official and proper versions somehow. You know, because these are the actual Japanese versions, and thus the correct ones.

I don't see a difference though.
Or perhaps you are thinking about the 2k tiles, which are, in fact, different.

@Mason_Wheeler: Maybe you don't have the latest version of the RTP. It was updated some days ago because accidentally there was the 2k ship tileset and the 2k title screens in there.

Which one is the 2k3 ship tileset? I just downloaded the RTP off RPGMaker Web and I think theirs still has just the 2k ship.

Should be the correct 2k3 one, if I'm not mistaken.

It's definitely updated in Steam though, and they did inform the web department to update it on the site as well, although I'm not sure whether they actually did it yet :/
In the Elements tab of 2k3. If you have enough that there no scrollbar everything is peachy perfect:


However if you add enough that there is a scroll bar, like 30 so it appears like so:


And do something to change the name of an element you get:


It's fine when the scroll bar doesn't appear but when it does you start getting the above.

e: To be clear no data is lost, it's entirely a UI bug.
