Thanks max und kaos. The cliffs are... Hmm, I've been thinking about doing something about them, but I think for the most part, I lack shadows which is a major concern overall.

So I've been messing around with spriting again. The chipsets are very WIP and the charactersets are temporary.
Oh yeah, chillin' at the muddy beach.
Eh, these are intended as some true peasant-hovels ala braveheart.
A small fort of some kind.
Woodcutters glade. now with 100 % more kobolds! Needs more toadstools though.
I did a very small town with a garrison, surrounded by a stone wall. Note that I haven't made any doors yet.
De town public house. The counter is temporary, from an older chipset. BUT THE FIRE ANIMATES
Chickens approaching through the southgate, unoticed by the unsuspecting, empty garrison.

Those look pretty fantastic, Nemo. I especially like the charsets.
The chipsets look solid, but the cliffs in the second screen look a little blocky (at least the forward facing tile does).
Also, the castle looks a bit much. Not really sure how else to explain it... it feels like there is a lot going on with the castle walls and it detracts from the rest of the screen?

Neeeeemmmooo, I think that if you don't do 100% custom graphics then the style will fail. If everything is in that style, however, it will be incredible. <3

I find it amazing that I'm working on two projects at once, and haven't dropped either for a month or whatever--probably because one is in Gamemaker and one is in RMVX.

I didn't make the graphics, I got them from etolier studio. I have, however, had to go through every single faceset (every character has emotions and whatnot on their own sheet) and edit the borders some to get that etheral/fading look.

@Mr.Nemo : I really like these graphics, especially the one with the small houses. There is homogeneity. You wrote that it's still a WIP so I'm not commenting too much. :p But I would say that it's missing shadows to get the volume clearly shown.

I like your graphics. Using Flash for drawings is a good idea.
The Pityskulls look especially good.
I like the Ghasty Pitys the best. They's friggin adorable.

Good screenshots guys. Especially Nemo! I might suggest using gray instead of black though because your screens are very dark and it is hard to focus on anything. I like the graphics a lot though.
Video your game looks as kooky as ever. You should make battle graphics and sprites to match the outlandish style and you'll have a game with a ton of personality!

Teh VABS v2.0 (Verifyed Action Battle System) lawl
This is / was my Halloween project using my VBS v2.0
The battle system is what soaked up all of my time and that is why i couldn't finish, but w/e I'm still going to release this game soone. The Battle System took like 5-6 days to make, but its finally working
Still working on it but making a lot of progress. :D
-Working on having 2-player support (But might be a waste of time since people mostly play RPGs by themselves)
-Commanding party members to attack now works perfectly
Everything works now finally ... just need to add more than 10 monsters to attack (Which is gonna be a challenge)
It's kinda hard to capture what's going on in a screenshot.
But basically I just commanded my party member (Gonal) to attack a monster, so he is throwing his dagger.("Battle" appears when ever you select a target for your party members)
And I'm kind of just standing there watching him since i just finished killing that thing at the top, covered in blood :D
(Party member's A.I. still needs work, as you can see the monster he is attacking, is already dead ... -_-)

@Rasta: That looks promising, but custom battle systems usually suck. Still, if you can pull it off, your game will stand out for sure! You could try taking a video of one of the battles to pique people's curiosity. I'd like to see it in action. Also, the name "VABS" has a nice ring to it.
@Scribble: Needs more shading. A lot more shading. Once you get that in there, it'll look great.
