Reworked some of the battle system today and am slowly adding in a damage calculator which will show you how much you take off the enemy and how much the enemy will take off you.
Okay, I guess that I will start posting my weekly progress on my new project, "Legends of the Darkness" here. LotD comes after Secrets of the Light in the "Legacy of the Gemini" series, so it's part V. Anyways, I'll give some quick info about where I'll be going with this...

Engine: RM2k3
Genre: Traditional RPG
Features: Well, this is what I have planned so far, anyway.
1) Multiple endings accessed by making certain difficult choices in the game.
2) CMS for learning magic and setting special skills.
3) Possibly some custom chipsets and RTP edits.

This project is still very early, as in I haven't even begun developing it, but I'll give more information as I get more of it done. Hopefully it'll be pretty good.
I'll make my first post here.

Phantom Legacy ~

Fixed up a snickering animation sprite.
Finished a cut scene.
Finished off the gate level to the next town.
Played Left 4 Dead
Went back and fixed up the dialog for the first meeting with Bishop.
Fixed a walking speed bug that appeared during a random replay of the Bishop boss battle.

Up next! ~~ ~... ~

Remaking the pestilence battle animation
Fixing the transition for Lilith's special melee skills. (So she doesn't just appear in place after the skill fires.)
Found a few problems with the time in the main menu so i fixed that up. Took me a while as well so that's all i've been able to do.

Hero's Realm:
Added monsters and monster groups for:
  • The Ghostship
  • Tortuga Island
  • Sea battles from levels 16-25
  • Tritonis
  • Undersea area
  • Spinidel (one of the Dreadlords)
  • Uber and Omega Balthalas (making a return from Ch. 1!)
  • Ikeia
  • Kremsland
  • Ethereal Tower (anyone remember the tower in FF6 with physical immune monsters? same idea)
  • Okasa Crypt

Total Time Spent Over The Past Umpteen Days: Umpteen hours.

Just practicing, anyone good at eyes...

Have yet to shade, all base colors are down, everything will look smoother in the final product.
Lookin good, just needs the eyes.

Anyway, today i have,

-Decided on the panorama background for the menu.
-Finished adding in the characters.
-Completed most of the events of the first dungeon.

Total time spent making: 1 hour 15 minutes.
Spent the last eternity procrastinating. My creativity hit a brick wall.

I have been progressing on Everything Turns Gray at a pathetic, snail like pace in spite of setting aside hours every day to work on it. Really, really slow going.
Currently i have been,

-continuing adding in events.
-trying to find some good enough facesets.

Haven't had much time today to work on it.
Guh finished a build for Scarlet Heart

And...working on portraits right now again

Nothing. I blame Dwarf Fortress...and general discouragement.
Decided to have a little break with Demon Destiny 2 and have moved on to finishing a game i was creating for a contest a while ago. It's going along nicely but i'm trying to get rid of a lot of bugs in it.
This week's progress (and some time before that)


I...
1. have most of the sprites, battle sprites, and facesets that I need.
2. have the story (for the most part) planned out.
3. have a list of all the skills, spells, and special moves for the characters

Well, I have more than that, but that's all I'm listing for now.


Also, most of the faces will have expressions, so that you don't have to look at the same expression over and over.
Currently i'm still fixing up some bugs in my game. Have started to do face graphics as well.

What's Dwarf Fortress?

I haven't really been doing much except for working on the story which is still lacking. Got 2 chipsets done last month as well as learning a few tricks to make games sound better.

Damn, I've always wanted to do that.
I finished my demo ... woot
I'm going to submit it tomorrow and stuff :D
I got a lot done.

-Renamed my game from Zero Reality (which no longer makes sense) to Chronology of the Last Era.
-Made a new title screen to reflect said change. It's not quite done, but comment and make suggestions, please!
-Starting giving items animations. Normally, it just has a sound effect with no animation and MP related items don't even tell you how much you got. That's now changed.
-Cleaned up battle animations
-Finished one town
-Finished a story arc
-Gave all items a little glyph icon
-Fixed a lot of bugs
-Fixed difficulty and balance issues
-Fixed sound and music bugs
-Finished a few dungeons

The demo that you guys all played has been drastically improved. I may change the download link to reflect that. Also another demo may be on the way.
