I'm excited for Kimino Na Wa, it is Makoto Shinkais next movie! I find people complain that he keeps making the same movies with the same themes.
But I like them a lot. Sometimes. A few of his films I do not care for ^_^''
I've seen 5/cm a second, distant star, and the place promised in our early days or w/e crap its called. I honestly only watch them for the ambiance porn. Best watched during the summer. Never paid too much attention to the plots as they're generally kinda trite.
Dude the ambiance porn is fucking gorgeous! I think Mamoru Hosoda's movies have much better stories, but I like Makoto's plot too!
Check out "the garden of words" this summer the plots kinda uncomfortable actually.
The process to making ambiance porn is to take HD pictures of stuff that you like. Then put it into photoshop and make a matte painting while referencing other ambiance pornos. You can even take it a step further by making the matte painting look alive by animation.

To me it just comes down to panning through a wide grass field vista viewing a sunset with some wind noise and bam you win. That's basically Makoto.
I'm probably going to see "Boy and the Beast" but goddamn it's annoying finding theater times for it as google only lists the ones today. Also showtime is like 9:25pm... it's also gonna be 12 bucks. The effort I go through to see animu on the bigscreen.

Most theaters have websites with their schedules on them. Alternately, you can go with fandango.com
You can also call in theaters and ask.
I ended up seeing the movie anyway. The Boy and the Beast was pretty damn good as an escapism movie. Ironically the movie stops to glorify the MC's reality a bit more to the point where the movie became much more internal and confrontational. Also best theatre experience for me in awhile, the impact/punching sounds were so well done and just shattered the theatre I was at. Also I think it's just like mamoru hosoda to put something in so super obvious yet confusing in-front of the audience and then explain it later when it actually matters the most. Idk hard to explain unless you watch the movie.
Xmen Apocalypse was nifty! I quite enjoyed it. If you liked First Class or Days of Future Past you will probably enjoy it, too.
I might have liked X-Men Apocalypse more than Civil War. I can't even explain why, since parts of it seemed so rushed and parts of the plot were pretty sloppy. Probably has to do with nostalgia; X-Men were so much cooler than the Avengers when I was a kid.
