HIGHLANDER'S REALM ("D&D" FORUM RPG)

"They're aren't many who do what you do because magic isn't a fool's toy!" I responded to Aldus coldly.
I almost instantly regret making that retort. After all, he hasn't killed anyone, and this same 'fool' saved my life not too long ago. I should just let this go.
I should change the subject.
"Do you guys need anyone to stand guard of our camp while you venture down there? I can do that." I say to the group, though in reality I just want some time to myself. "If you guys run into danger, you can give me a holler and I'll be there."

"We stay together. Separating is a good way to get killed." I try not to glance at Aldus as I say, "At least it's a better way of getting killed than staying together."
I'd typically laugh at a joke like that, but what transpired so far has left me feeling very distraught.
"You're right. I'll stick with you guys." I follow the rest of the group down the shaft from behind.

"Well, I used to spend time with quite a number of people who wielded magic and were fools. But maybe you are correct, and they have all stopped using magic by now. Who knows? Either way, I'm glad you are staying with us, Enna. It's been very pleasant talking to you so far, and I am very curious to see what other interesting things you are capable of."
"From what I can gather, his discipline is chaos, which tends to be as dangerous to the user as everyone else. It was a forbidden study, growing up, but even the regular practices can be a bit unpredictable. I haven't been able to use magic in...oh, forever, and I'm not unthankful for it. To be honest, I'm not sure Aldus is entirely...here. The way he talks, sometimes I think he has his foot in another world."
(No, I was actually hoping for a response from you. This is Leara's backwards way of saying she wants to know more about you.)
(Cool, I see. Give me a moment to think of something to respond, I'll edit it in.
Seiromem, I hope you don't mind if we keep talking like this until the next GM post you make.)
Edit:
"Fortunately, I am indeed not entirely "here," for this "here" already does not exist any more, and neither does this one, or this one, or this one. Every new world is a delight to explore, and wouldn't you agree it would be a shame to get stuck in one of them?" I shudder briefly at the thought.
"Yes, chaos is very much my discipline, although even moreso I am the discipline of chaos. Just like you, and anyone or anything else. I'm not doing much myself, I have just accepted that chaos is always and everywhere, and I just flow along with it. Sadly, I've found that many people, especially wizards and clerics, are sometimes afraid of what they cannot control, which is everything, so they live in fear and denial their whole material existences. But if rules can be made, they can be broken, so they are not rules and don't exist as long as they exist, which they don't. And there is no creation without change, and no change without creation, which is why non-reality is in the majority and matters more than reality."

It's the best thing to do while I get this bit set up.
Plus, I had work and have something due tomorrow for school.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

"Magic seems dangerous. I don't think I would ever want to use it," I contribute thoughtfully, while sustaining a mystical gray barrier around myself formed from the souls of the dead.
"The magic I used tied me to something I didn't want to be tied to. So I rejected it. Now I am not tied to it, and I can't use magic to create a simple camp fire without a scroll. Although, I do know a few card tricks...if anyone has a pack of cards."
"Magic tricks? I love them, we had magicians in the village doing magic tricks very often, it was always very fun to watch!"
I stare at Aldus from behind, with an eyebrow raised. Is he really that crazy?
This talk of magic opens up some bad memories of mine.
"Whatever... I'm not a big magic fan anyway. Especially not tricks." I say aloud. It's a fact I'm embarrassed of. Who's ever heard of an Elf who dislikes magic?

"What do you like?" I say, trying to keep the irritation out of my voice. I'm actually going to roll for that. 10. Right in the middle. Maybe she'll notice, and maybe she won't.

I address Enna. "It doesn't sound like you like much of anything. Everything you say is about a problem you have with someone."
I ponder curiously. "Do you like sugar cakes? Everybody likes sugar cakes, right?"

"Oh...don't worry about her, Agnelia. She's living proof that if someone keeps a stick up their bum long enough, they'll eventually give birth to it."
"Me me! I like sugar cakes! Do you have anything little elfy? I'm hungry... please give Miss Chloe a sugar cake..."
"Hey hey hey though, be nice, I'm sure Enna is just a little nervous, I mean we only just met her right? Enna, we are your new friends, you can be nice with us!"
"Also what is this about Baby Sticks Leara? I think you shouldn't be so mean to Enna!"

I roll my eyes and choose to ignore what, in my mind, is such a patronizing question from a younger Elf.
"Of course I like things, you know." I say to the group. "silence is one of them!"
I also wanted to really stick it to that Drow for her insult, but nothing came out of me. Maybe getting into a fight with this group isn't worth it right now. I mean, at least that human girl seems nice to me, if not a bit unusually childish.
