LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I wish Leara could hear this. She'd find it hilarious.

I guess I'll try to find my way back to town for now. That buffalo might be a lost cause at this point.

Is there a road or something nearby I can follow?

I will dismiss my summon and follow the Gnolls to wherever they are taking us. I'm more curious than scared, so as long as nobody gets killed any more, this turn of events doesn't bother me that much.

-----Turn 10-----
Agnelia, with her new henchmen froggmin, begins tailing the Gnolls, hoping to get something to eat out of the deal. Perhaps Froggmin can't jump straight to being in control, maybe the minion gig will be beneficial training before acquiring his OWN underlings...

During the hours long forced march, Leara and Aldus finally collapse from exhaustion once more. With no threat to their life detected by the gnolls, they simply put them in the back of the cart they were dragging with the supplies. The children are also tossed back there, as the mother's tear-stained face looks weary, Chloe wishes she could heal more than wounds. Chloe herself is about to collapse before a gnoll keepsher up. Chloe looks to the caravan, signaling she's about to faint too, but the gnoll simply smiles sadistically and slings her over his shoulder. Chloe grunts as she's being picked up, and the Gnoll's grasp is rough. After another few hours, a plateau is seen in the distance, with an apparent cave entrance. There are a few tents on the outside made of some animal pelts, with what appears to be guards, though there seems to be a little too many of them. Eventually the caravan remains are dragged to the front, and many gnolls begin to unload it and lift things in the cave. Chloe is barely conscious while being roughly carried by the Gnoll as she sees Aldus, Leara, and the caravan survivors being bunched up and forced into the cave, with Leara and Aldus having regained consciousness just barely. The gnoll Carrying Chloe doesn't put her down, he simply
walks with the rest of the group as a guard.
Agnelia spies the entrance and stays a safe distance away nas she sees everything getting loaded into the cave.

Enna gives up the chase and heads back to find the road again. It seems the Gnolls also had given up and returned to the rest of the pack, as heir tracks loop around. She manages to get to town after a few hours, and all is not well. She knows she is not in danger of being perceived a threat, but the gate is closed and the guards on the palisade seem on edge. After a short exchange she is allowed entrance and enter the town. The town is surprisingly quiet on the inside, with the town hall seemingly full and the tavern surprisingly empty-looking for dusk.

Meanwhile, in the tunnel, the troop is lead through a straight hallway that splits into four more hallways, each labeled with wooden signs you cannot read. The Gnolls carrying the caravan cargo go down the right path while the Gnolls guiding the troop and the Gnoll carrying Chloe go down the left. After passing what seems to be a kitchen and a crafting area, the troop is thrown into a small, empty room with a door on the other side. The gnolls leave and the gnoll that carried Chloe shuts the door behind him, but not without staring at Chloe, who is very unsettled.

"Why do you wish to help with the evaluation of the slaves?" A Gnoll female, one of a rare and powerful breed, asks another rather dwarfish looking Gnoll male.
"Well, I must find my place among the tribe or be cast out, yes?" He replies.
"I must find my use somewhere."
"I thought you'd start with the patrols, at least. Ah well, just remember you get no second chances. You fail in this, you try something else so long as you give me a reason to believe you can. Now, let's get this started, they should be in the room. Size up their strengths and which ones aren't worth keeping. Hopefully the latter are rather delicious, ehehehe..."
The two enter the room and Patchi, the male Gnoll, looks around. He fisrt spies the two children, a young boy and a young girl with what he assumes to be their mother holding them, looking fearfully at him. The look upsets him slightly and he shifts is view to three men of varying ages. One appears to be very fit and young, the other two hardened middle-aged men who would expire in a few years of forced labor... Patchi conceals a shudder and moves on the last three, one human with a hair color he never knew even existed, another man who looks young physically barring his hair, and a drow elf. He gains a quick flashback to when a group of dark elves tortured him and his family through constant painful tricks, traps, and general mischief, which ended with his surrogate father's death. They eventually stopped, but this flashback sends a shiver up Patchi's spine. He shakes it off, and sees that Yalvota, the female Gnoll Flint, had already summed up the slaves and is looking at him.
"So, give me your report." she says coldly.

The troop notices the door on the other end of the room open and two Gnolls step in. One tall, imposing one with a whip and bone sword on her belt, and a very short, very broad male with a short looking blade. They look at the rest of the room carefully, until the tall one looks at the short one and says something harshly in their language.

LockeZ: 2/4 Charges

END NOTE: Enna is now officially detached from the party's current effort, and her turn will go on separately from everyone else, until such time as she might reconvene with the party. However I won't let her get more than a day in-game time ahead of everyone else.

Even though Agnelia is a girl, I think it's fine you keep referring to her as a boy, considering elves are notoriously androgynous.

by "The Troop" I meant you three and the caravan guards, who are all currently within the Gnoll Warrens and being looked over by two Gnolls, the female and Patchi who is CAVE_HYENA.

"You are to refer to me as 'Your holiness Lady Agnelia.'" I pause and think for a moment. "Or perhaps 'My beautiful mistress.' Or something else appropriately reverant and conscious of my perfect figure and complexion."

I point to the mine. "Look. The stupid pig people stole all the other people. That means they're valuable. So we're going to steal them back. And then we'll... sell the people... to themselves." I nod vigorously, trying to convince myself that this plan is completely sound. "Nobody will pay as much for them as they'll pay for themselves; it's perfect. Also, it's a good deed, so they'll be thankful."

I played up my importance a little bit, but it sounds believable. I think. Probably. Sure, yeah. It's basically true anyway. If I'm the only one left alive, then I'm basically the high cleric by default, right?

Uh, I should probably get some clarification on that later from my mirror.

What I don't explain to Froggmin is why a holy figure deserving of his respect would be wandering in the wilderness alone, starving, homeless, barefoot and destitute. I'm not sure I could if he asked. Hopefully that doesn't seem weird to him or anything. I honestly don't know if it's weird or not. Maybe all spiritual leaders travel like this. Maybe everyone travels like this! I bet they do.

"What...? Wait, do people in the outside world care about morality?" I tilt my head. "I was always told that everyone out here was cruel and selfish."

I scrunch my face and think, legitimately puzzled. After a few moments, I come to the conclusion that I'm not sure why enslaving them as minions would be any better than selling them to themselves. This person might just be an idiot. But he seems to at least think he's doing the right thing, so he'll probably attack me if I don't agree with him.

"Fine. We'll do it your way."

I get as close to the tunnel as possible without being seen and try to peer into it. I'm curious how far in they were taken.

Patchi had imagined that the life of a samurai being much more glamorous and straightforward. He had hoped that he would be able to simply slice all of the evil-doers he met into mincemeat. He hadn't counted on encountering so many evil people...and so soon. He hadn't perfected using his sword yet, not by a long shot. And he was now keenly aware of how huge an advantage both the numbers of his pack and the concealment of the forest had provided him. This was going to be harder than the stories made it look...

Patchi turned to look at the captives again, giving the other gnoll as little of his face to read as possible. He could only hope that the notes of disgust in his voice were kept to a minimum.

spoken in gnollish
"Hm. Hm." Patchi scratched under his chin. "For however long they last, the men will make decent laborers. Strange hair girl has many years ahead of her, and will be useful for boring chores and taking care of whelps." Patchi's eyes fall on the drow, narrowing momentarily. "Dark Elf good at playing music box. We should keep and make to entertain and do chores."

After looking at the mother and children again, Patchi tensed his body and closed his eyes, offering a silent prayer to no one in particular that his plan would work, and that he wouldn't be pushed into doing anything stupid before the time was right. That would be hard, though. Each moment spent in the company of these filthy slavers felt like another dirty stain soaking into his honor. But he knew that if he acted too rashly, he could endanger both himself and the prisoners.

"Taking care of children more trouble than its worth. The meat is tender when younger anyway, so just eat now. Doubt that the mother will be of much use after that, so eat her too. I know a good recipe. Hyeh hyeh!"

Cavenote: Seiromem, should we basically just be like, rolling whenever we try to do anything besides really basic stuff? Also, do I know if this other gnoll speaks the common tongue or not? Does everyone speak common? maybe that's why it's called...the common tongue

ANYWAY i figured I should be making a roll. IDK if I'm rolling for deception or persuasion but I rolled a 14

I'm not positive on how skill rolls work. Does this roll, with my CHA score, mean that my 'actual' roll is a 13?

Most monsters don't speak common. Common is the human tongue, and since humans are so numerous and common, most other races learned it to communicate with them. You can assume that very few Gnolls would know common.

Deception would be the appropriate roll, against who you're trying to deceive's insight check. And yes, your negative charisma would hinder your deception, so it's 13 now. However this would only hide your general unease or sympathy for the captives, not your plans or thoughts, as those cannot be read by any means other than magic.

If you think it requires a roll, roll it. If you don't know what modifiers to add, I will add them for you and let you know for next time should there be one.

Also, little bits like "Patchi turned to look at the captives again, giving the other gnoll as little of his face to read as possible. He could only hope that the notes of disgust in his voice were kept to a minimum." would earn you bonus points in some way, at my discretion.

Also that Gnollish, wow that's the extra mile.

I cheated and used an online gnoll translator, which I was very surprised to find out exists. I mostly just wanted to see what it would look like. according to whoever coded the translator, gnolls are just really drunk people.
