What the flippity flappy is a chain game, frogge?

A chain game is a game where people take turns, each creating a chapter. It usually goes in sign-up order. In this case, I will be making the first chapter, and then someone else will get to pick it up and make a chapter, and they'll hand it to me, which I will then hand to the person that's next in line. I hope that's clear enough!

What the flippty flappy is this chain game about, frogge?

More than a chain game, this game will actually be a horror anthology for halloween. Each person will get to make one chapter - a short horror story, prefarebly somewhere between 10-30 minutes in length. There is a theme, however - each person will be assigned an object to base their chapter on. No, nothing about haunted chairs, I will assign stuff like mirrors. From there on, you can take the story in whatever direction you wish! B-Horror is fine aswell. (Stuff like killer dragons from outer space etc, as long as it fits the theme.)

Also keep in mind that if you get something like, say, a pumpkin, it doesn't have to be about possessed pumpkins or anything. You could make something about a serial killer wearing a pumpkin as a mask. Be creative!

Objects will be assigned at random.

You are free to name your chapter whatever you want, however, the name must have something to do with the object it is based on.

What the flippity flappy are the rules, frogge?!

Well, most importantly, time is limited. The deadline for each person is a week, which should be plenty of time for a 10-30 minute long game. If you fail to finish in time, the person who is after you will take your place instead, though that person keeps their original theme. If you do end up finishing later, I will see into adding it in, but it's best if you can just finish in time. It's also best if you finish in a time even shorter than a week, so if you still have time left, don't worry about it, just hand it over anyway. We do want to get the game done by halloween if possible.

Second of all, we will be using ace, and we want the project to feel consistent, so everyone must use the same graphics - the ace rtp. However, if there are additional resources you wish to add in that has the rtp style, just send them over to me and I'll let you know if you're allowed to add that in. For example, I will allow for you to add in bath tiles in rtp style, but you will not be allowed to add in pixellated monsters that look like they belong in a different game.

Keep in mind that if the second rule is broken, I may tamper with your chapter to fix the issue. I will also be doing proofreading and will be fixing your dialogue if I spot any grammar or spelling issues.

Some other things to keep consistent:
-Each dialogue box must look like this. So basically, colored name, and no faces. Each character must have a different color for their name.
-We will be using mack character sprites since they look better.
-Try to use sprites that have not been used in previous chapters for your characters. If you need help making new ones, I'd be more than happy to edit you a few.
-You may not add in any scripts without running it by me.
-Avoid using pictures as much as possible. We don't want one person using an image off of google images as a background and another drawing a completely original piece, the clash would look bad.

Lastly, no multiple endings for your chapter. Each chapter must only have one ending.
