Here's a hint!

Metal Gear Rising: REVENGEANCE

spoilers: it owns. Raiden is now a cool character, fighting dudes and cutting them up into a hundred pieces is awesome, and when the game clicks and you wreck a boss with no/little damage taken you feel like a badass.

RULES OF NATURE D:<

I'm playing the Steam version of FFVII! Currently infiltrating Shinra Co. to rescue the charming Aeris...

Did this port (or is it a re-make? Or HD version? whatever) do something with the dialogue, because I don't remember it being this, well, natural before. Overall, still liking the game a lot more most jRPGs I've played...(maybe I'm just saying that because I just finished the ridiculously confused Tales of the Abyss. idk)
FF7 on Steam is simply a port with a few additional things like cloud saving and such. I'll agree though, that game had a very nice script.

Okay, it had a few weird moments. What game doesn't though? It are only human nature make mistake at time, Craze.
Also? It adds to the charm of the game. It's the games with odd lines like that which stick in the memory. Even now it gets a chuckle, but despite those odd lines, it was a pretty great game.

Playing Etrian Oddysey IV. I'm... not very good at it, though I've only party wiped once. Somehow I've managed to hang on during each of the battles that look like they'll wipe me. Level 10+ and I still have issues taking down those stupid angry monkeys. How long do I have to grind before they don't wipe their stupidly-colourful asses with me?! >.<;

Aside from that I was playing Fire Emblem Awakening. Not bad. I was doing okay in my first play through and decided to go for the hard one, challenging myself to not lose a character. I... am stuck on one particular area now because my silly mages keep getting wiped. :/ And before you say 'change with x instead' - I have done so and then they get wiped. Mages as least do a bit more damage to the enemy.

I was soooo close the last time, too, but then a freaking asshole just flew past my knight and took the main character out. He was at full health. Joy. :/

yea I mean that's cool but no big deal, the original game had Cloud saving too

I'm playing Link's Awakening again! Haven't played it for probably 10 years.

yeah i refuse to play FE:A on anything but casual mode. there's just no point unless you're a masochist (in which case, more power to you!)

slash consider yourself slapped for that first sentence
I started on casual but it didn't feel right since I played some of the others on normal. So I started normal... but I figured I'd be a masochist and challenge myself. Hence the hard.

I didn't have the balls to do that on EO4, though, because I remembered how hard a time I had with Etrian Odyssey the original and knew I'd die a thousand deaths.
FF7 Steam is just a mod / upgrade of FF7 PC released way back in the day which was a port of the PS1 version with a slightly cleaned up script. One of the upgrades is replacing the old crappy MIDI music the original PC port used with way more accurate music. It also doesn't have the problem of freezing during the FMV when escaping from the northern crater.

The only solution to that problem that I ever found was to copy the FMVs to your hard drive and tell the game to use those. I never managed to free up enough space to see if it would've worked

I play FE:Awakening on casual too. Classic just promotes a very conservative (and to me, boring) play style to avoid losing characters. I could roll god units pairups but I'd much rather roll whoever and seeing what happens. Maybe some units will be defeated and I'll have to adjust my strategies accordingly instead of just restarting.

That's how I feel re: SRPGs in general. Dynamic play is a lot more interesting to me than HARDxCORE play.
This is crazy good. I don't know if the fact that it's in korean is a problem or a bonus.

Messing around with Atelier games and visual novels while waiting for Bravely Default.
Last sunday i was wishing to play some good exploration & discovery focus game, but couldn't found anything that picked my interest. So intead i went to old super metroid that i hadn' played in a long time (since snes cartridges or dreamcast emulators maybe) and had a blast for 6 hours. I can't believe i couln't find anything like "a link to the past" and "super metroid" experiencies in modern gaming.
I replayed Ib out of boredom today. My fourth or fifth time playing and I managed to get the best ending (Promise of Reunion)! Yay!

Also replaying FFV. I'm at Karnak and am slightly underleveled 'cuz I got lazy and skipped most of the battles at Walse Tower.
Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, already up to High rank village quests, went much faster than my first save file. Incredible, time-consuming fun. Almost 50 hours on my current save, and I have so much left to do (and so many monsters left to skin and make into weapons and armor).
BTW, Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate confirmed for west(yaaaaay...), early 2015 (well fuck). Well, not that I don't have anything to play in the meantime. I am not too eager to fight Tigrex, Kushala Daora or Kirin again anyways. On the other hand, I am so ready to fight Khezu again, or smash Yian Kut Ku's face (I loved that chicken in Freedom Unite)

Other current game is Might and Magic 7. Wow. So old, so ugly, but so much soul in this game. Dungeon crawling awesomeness, slaying hordes (and I mean HORDES) of enemies, dressing your characters in epic loot... Well, I am still early in the game, so I don't have any EPIC loot yet, and monster slaying is going slowly with just the basic spells, bows and melee weapons (my characters miss waaaay too much), but I am getting there. Once you get past the ugly graphics and weird UI, this game is gold.

Completed GTA5, though, I didn't complete the last part of the mission, and skipped it. Why didn't I get alot money that I gotten from the heist anyway, properly didn't switch to Mike?
