Found out I had 70+ stars floating around and no Bowser's Magma Mountain (and to that extent, no Eternal Star either) and figured "hell, why not?" I'm not entirely certain I ever saw the true ending to this game.

I just started South Park: The Stick of Truth. If any Microsoft personnel are reading, I acquired it by obviously completely legitimate means.

But isn't it? Not only is it an amazingly faithful adaptation of a television/movie franchise (I swear, at one point you'll feel like you're playing a South Park movie), but it's got good mechanics to boot.

The Stick of Truth is probably the most faithful video game adaptation of any fictional work I've ever played. Can't say I'm as thrilled with it as most people are, though. No specific complaints, just hasn't wowed me. Maybe that will change later.

Just finished Chrono Trigger (I first played it a few years ago, but didn't finish it) and now I'm playing Fire Emblem: Awakening and the new Phoenix Wright. I'm really loving FE:A, but PW is a bit of a clusterfuck. It's alright, I guess. I like the graphics, though. They're a surprisingly decent transition from 2D to 3D.

Sorry, sorry: a LOT of a clusterfuck. The abilities from the previous games (the psyche locks, Apollo's bangle thing) are featured really briefly and it lends itself, to me at least, to feeling disjointed. In fact, I think you only use Apollo's a couple of times. I mean, none of these are particularly spectacular (we're all here for the trials and interrogating, am I right?) but just swapping through them like that is a bit... fickle? It feels gimmicky. Why not just focus on Athena's mood thing?
Don't get me wrong: it's a good game. It just doesn't feel as cohesive as the earlier titles.

I just recently beat the Portal series of games for the first time... h'o yeah, I'm late to the party and I know it. I'm a bit of a retro-gamer, just from trying to catch up more than anything, hah! But enjoyed every moment!
Mulling over what to play next... Possibly the Witcher (first one), or listen to my friends screaming about how I really should play BioShock. Or finally get enough friends together to play Artemis, hah!
I've been playing League of Angels on and off throughout the past weeks, too. Uhg... Browser games. The only thing I can sort of manage with a crazy work schedule right now. Weekends, I reserve for real gaming...

Super Mario 3D World is pretty fun, but also pretty easy playing solo. It gets crazy with more people though!

*gets hit and turns small* "I go get big now!" *commits suicide by jumping off the ledge, comes back in a bubble as big* "See? I'm big now!"

*I collect final green star in a level* "NOOOO! THAT MY STAR!!" *quits level*
*I collect a powerup he wanted* "NO!!!" pout-face, and tries repeatedly to kill me by throwing me off ledges, gets increasingly frustrated when I don't let him until he quits the level
The cutest is when he plays by himself - he grabs 2 other controllers and "plays" them too, so that he has 3 characters and he carries them through the level.
Good ol' Mario, Luigi, Princess, New Princess and Mushroomhead.
I think the innocence of a 4 year old makes it charming instead of rage-inducing.

I've played New Super Mario Bros. Wii with a five year old who was a little brat. It isn't charming. It isn't charming at all.

Started another playthrough of Super RMN Bros. 3. I'm at World 8 at the moment.

Just finished Bioshock Infinite, playstation plus man. Got Infinite, Tomb Raider, Jak HD collection, Metal Gear Rising, Remember me all for free. I could grab Borderlands 2 but I've never liked the original so :\

I've been playing Skyrim and Oblivion. My first time in Skyrim, about my billionth through Oblivion. As you would imagine, I'm just learning things about Skyrim and absolutely trashing Oblivion with no remorse (almost all my attributes capped, buffed beyond the limit, etc.)
One of my big peeves with Skyrim is how lame they manage to make the dragons. They come off as not a threat, or an epic battle of man vs nature, but an annoying inconvenience to exploration or plot advancement. Seriously, even Dwemer Centurions are far more frightening than dragons could ever be.

Just finished Tomb Raider, gonna go back to Grand Theft Auto V since I still have yet to get far in it, despite the fact that it's a great game. I think sometimes when it comes to games of its scope I get overwhelmed at the thought of how much I have to do even though I like the game a lot.
Speaking about Tomb Raider though , I have to say I was a bit disappointed by the whole having waves of enemies to kill despite the direction they were going for. It felt like had they stuck to a more survivor, tomb raiding platformer mystery of the island idea, I would have liked it more. The sense of build and characterisation of Lara would have come across much better. Like when she has to kill her first animal to feed herself and she's all sad it's like wow. But then a cutscene later I'm off killing 4 or five just for experience alone. Same thing with her first kill, it impacts her greatly but she had to do it. Moments later your given a gun and have to mow down like ten guys, I mean wtf? Also why is there this huge army on this island!?
In the end it all made sense as to why they were there but I feel they had a much better opportunity and what seems like the initial idea. A survivor is born, more like super hot mass murderer.

I’ve been playing Donkey Kong Country 3 for the past couple of days on the Wii’s Virtual Console trying to do a 105% run of the entire game as…moderately as fast as I can. I’m on the 6th world at the moment and, other than missing collecting a couple of bonus coins in a couple of levels, especially on the bobsled ones, I’ve pretty much collected everything else that’s in the game including all the DK hero coins.
I’m hoping that by the time that I finish playing this sucker off that Dixie Kong will be announced as a playable character for Super Smash Bros. 4 and my collective dream of having freakin’ Mega Man in a team battle alongside with Dixie will finally come into fruition. :)
