WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?
Posts
I have been playing and reviewing a lot of RPG Maker games lately, while watching Clannad with the other half of the screen. I also have been playing a little bit of awesome games, like Super Hexagon and Rogue Legacy, along with another new genius flash game by Terry Cavanagh, Naya's Quest. That's one trippy ass game. It heavily inspired my game, Lexical Node.

(not sure if the pic is visible)
My girlfriend just got me loads of awesome
Baldurs gate + tales of the sword coast
baldurs gate 2 + throne of bhaal
Ice wind dale + expansion(forgot the name)
Neverwinter nights 2 + a few expansions.
Arcanum
Planescape
Nox
Ive started with Throne of Bhaal(Baldurs Gate 2 was one of favorite games of all time)
Does anyone have an opinion for the next one for me to play
I found my copy of Grandia 2 for PC, which I haven't played since 2002. It's not the most elegant or graceful port, but I'm having non-stop fun with it.
I'm still slogging through Bravely Default. Chapters 5-8: Interesting ideas, poor execution.

I've been playing a TON of Fire Emblem lately, but I'm mainly switching between 1 (for NES), 4 and Awakening. As much as I love these games though, I just cannot see myself playing any of the older entries as they're intended to be played; I lose a single character and I get so frustrated it's ridiculous! I cannot imagine starting a chapter over if I happened to mess up in placing a unit, or an enemy landed a critical hit. Gah.

I haven't played roleplaying games like this before and i feel a bit of a nerd for doing so, but hero quest was really awesome. We started a game with few friends and got around quest 4/14 in 7 hours. Can't wait for the next session :D
Oh God. I had that game! My cousins and I would play it. My younger cousin (about 11 at the time) used to get an orc and dwarves, then sacrifice his dwarves in place of his orc. (We played with lenient rules)
This one time he got ultra lucky finding people to join his party and then just surrounded the hell out of wizard and fucked him to kingdom come. It was hilarious, especially the way we described it, with all his characters surrounding the wizard and chopping him up in a circle of steel and spells and unicorn horns.
Man, I really enjoyed that game a lot.

Darigaaz, that Hero Quest box. I don't recall any of the maps, but, I totally have the VASSEL engine module.

the game screams for custom rules. We already modified rules so that you get some loot with every creature you kill and once a player character dies, he/she becomes a zombie.
I died few times because as an elf I used magic to pass through walls. I always ended up in a room full of enemies -_- Rest of the group tried to hurry for my aid, but usually it was too late by the time they got there.
Marrend, .. I don't actually understand anything you're saying :D Darigaaz? VASSEL engine module?
It looks like I have to provide a few links to the VASSAL page, and the page for the Hero's Quest module.
I think Marrend uses "Darigaaz" in the place of a swear word, or "by God".
I'm only playing RM games right now. Cliche Quest currently.

Civiliation V.
Really good game. Very intelligently programmed and attention-demanding, though quite time-consuming.

I couldn't get into it like I did in Civ 2, 3 and 4. Production just felt so slow and battles so unsatisfying. And the lack of unit stacking makes city defense nigh impossible. I don't think I made it very far before growing bored.
I really enjoyed Civilization DS though - it was like Civ 4 Lite, and streamlined and simplified a lot of the things I didn't care for in Civ 4.

I felt the same way. I only played 2. Playing a game in pixel art is more satisfying for me, especially for a game like this. Although Civ5 added some cool new features, like um...Social something or other. You get purple culture points. Oh and super heroes, the merchant or scientist.
I'm playing the demo version of Bravely Default because I don't have any money right now (probably won't anytime soon either...).
I knew the battle system would be awesome, but MAN, it is so AWESOME. And the game is beautiful too. And what I've heard of the soundtrack is great too. I am loving the demo! I just wish I had the full game...
Edit: Well, beat the demo. Now what do I do, I want to play more :(

Finally started playing Radiant Historia. Not many jRPGs impress me within the first hour of play, but goddamn, this one's pretty much stunned me with its brilliance already.
@YM: It is pretty awesome, isn't it? One of the best jRPGs to have come out in recent years. ^.^
Currently I am playing Child of Light. Guys... this game is so good. The graphics are beautiful, the battles are fun, there's so much to explore, puzzles are neat and the characters are endearing.
I'd say the only thing that I'd personally like to see is more character interaction, but as it stands, it's a gem. I even enjoy the writing - which is basically all rhyming couplets.

I'm playing Child of Light too! As Igniculus with my non-gamer partner as Aurora at the helm. My partner doesn't really enjoy video games but she's having a lot of fun with this. The visuals are absolutely breathtaking, and I personally dig how much its battles play like Grandia.
author=LibertyYeah, for real. While the whole time-travel aspect is awesome in itself, I think it's the little things that make the game shine, such as the fluidness of the battle system and the well-produced music.

And the character portraits are just *____*
