WHAT VIDEOGAMES ARE YOU PLAYING RIGHT NOW?

Literally my favorite moments of the game were the first five hours, before I left Midgar. It was so much fun! Now, I just.... bleh.
This is basically my every replaythrough ever. And I used to think it was only because I had access to the 1st disc when I first played the game. But there is a lot of value to midgar as a potential place for the whole game and not world map filler.
Right now I am Playing FTL:faster than light.I just discovered this magnificent rogue-like.I've also been replaying Life is Strange still waiting for episode three to release.besides that doing a bit of tinkering with the new update of This War of Mine.Lastly I started the original Deus Ex.
I'm playing final fantasy dissidia and i'm crying so hard at my incapability to use any programming knowloedge or advanced mathematics to make those fancy matrix midair dashin fighting scenes.
GODDAMIT THEY're so cool.
GODDAMIT THEY're so cool.
dissidia is the best because it's the only game i know of where the fights look exactly as ridiculous (if not moreso) than the average rpg cutscenes. it's basically a make-an-over-the-top-cutscene videogame
...unless you play gabranth, in which case you run away and quietly EX Charge as much as possible
edit: i'm playing type-0 and it's great. it's the action rpg setup i always wanted to make for the ps2 controller! except i'm using a 360 controller while emulating it so that's a little awkward. still plays really well, though. i love large casts so much.
also haven't started etrian mystery dungeon yet, between work and threatthythm. i finally put the cart into my 3ds but then an hour later when i decided to lay down and play i was like... no, no i need to play real emotion with my x-2 party a few more times

@Caninemm: FTL is such a blast, I just played it recently and I really dig it. A single run is really long though, which is cool but kinda frustrating for a roguelike.
@Craze: Perihelion was telling me all sorts of crazy shit about type-0. The battle system sounded like a blast. I heard all sorts of fun spoilers too, like *radio feedback*
I doubt I'll ever get around to playing it unless I dig up an emulator, though.
Also! I've been playing Curse of the Necrodancer. The idea of timing your movements and attacks to the music works really well with the roguelike controls. It reminds me of Spelunky a lot, which is good and bad. I don't know what it is, but I can't get into it as much as I can other roguelikes. Great music, tho:

Anyone else pick up Grand Theft Auto V on Steam since it came out on PC? I played it a bit back when it came out on the PS3, but I'm enjoying it WAAAAY more on PC.
uprc do you have a reddit account because if so your r/gaming post was the #1 thread on my reddit app this morning
slash: http://www.ppsspp.org/ so easy to use. runs great. i suggest type-0 with a controller though, there's a lot of fighting game-esque stick+face button combos (no fucking quarterturns though).
also i have crypt of the necrodancer on my desktop waiting to be played but i haven't touched it yet =/ i put it there when this video popped up in my subscriptions list but i just... idk, i'm so bad at my backlog

So, I tried playing DK64. I figured since Yooka-Laylee was announced and I'm such a huge fan of Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, it only made sense. Well uh. I ALMOST beat it. The truth is, after a while it just isn't fucking worth it anymore. I made it to Crystal Caverns, the 2nd last level in the game, and it's become such a hassle that I don't really care to push through anymore.
I really don't understand what went wrong between BK and this. The controls in BK are tight and feel great, the levels are well designed and fun to play, and they get more fun, challenging and rewarding as the game goes on. But in DK64 the controls are extremely twitchy and imprescise, the levels feel like mazes (probably due to the awful camera never letting you get good sights on anything), and as the game goes on the levels get less and less fun. There's WAY too much shit to collect, which I knew going in, but god damn. It's difficult to really keep track of what you're doing in a level because of it.
Also, half the damn game is just mini games. Sometimes I feel more like I'm playing Mario Party than a 3D Platformer. The mechanic of switching Kongs to do different things is cool at first, but in the later levels it becomes a hassle. Example:
Early on, they teach you that by following a Kong's coloured bananas you'll find challenges related to that Kong (like, purple bananas lead to Tiny Kong stuff). That's smart. But then around Gloomy Galleon they fuck it all up, and you'll follow Tiny Kong bananas to a Lanky Kong switch and a banana balloon that only Diddy Kong can pop. Like great, now I have to make 3 trips back and forth to the kong barrel to get everything. This wouldn't be a huge deal if the game didn't practically require you to collect 90% of the stuff in the level to continue onward.
Don't get me wrong, it's not a horrible game by any stretch. The art and music are wonderful, the game has a lot of personality and humour, and I enjoyed a good half of what I played, but in the end it's not really worth the trouble. I'd rather play BK or BT again.

Yeah, that was probably me.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

There's a reason everyone hated DK64 when it came out and called it an abomination that had no right to share its name with DKC.
I liked DK64. It was an interesting game for me but
not as good as the original Bango episodes.\
I enjoyed playing cruising world in single-player.
That classic was ahead of it's time.

DK64 was my first and only 3D Platformer until the 3D Sonic games started coming out. (I didn't play any 3D Mario games until Galaxy 2 o.o) I think that, similar to how Super R-Type turned me off to 1-hit-death--back-to-checkpoint games, DK64's absurdity with collectibles is what turned me off to them in other games. Even as a kid I never managed the patience to collect all that crap (nor did I ever manage it for Jak and Daxter). Honestly, the main reason I can live with the problems present in every Sonic game is because there's so little else out there for 3D Platformers where you just run and jump to the end of the stage.
Anyways, speaking of N64 games, my sister and I decided to bust out some of the old racers on that system. Man... I'd forgotten how ridiculous the rubber-banding on the AI in Mario Kart 64 is. It's like, you can boost with a mushroom and they just stay with you. You can hit them with a shell and they're back on your ass faster than they could have possibly even finished the "getting hit" animation. Sometimes you're inches from the finish line and they just come up from behind and pass you for no reason... It's fucking ridiculous!
Cruisin' the World is still a blast. The crazy traffic accidents and the ability to use other cars as stunt ramps is just great, and the music is fantastic.
Have you ever heard a funkier bunch of animals? I mean, holy shit, someone get that frog a record deal!
Also got Mod Nation Racers for PS3 off of Amazon for, like, 8 bucks. Messing around with the customizing options, making bacon people and metal space rabbit pimps is pretty fun, but I've got to question the item system in this game. Like Diddy Kong Racing, you can level up items, but in this game, touching any item container will level up whatever you've got. That's okay I guess, but at level three, it seems that every item except Boost turns into a Blue Shell on steroids. You're given the option to use your boost meter to put up a shield, but some of the level 3 items like the missile barrage and weird blue wave thing seem to last longer/have more attacks that what your meter could ever last long enough to cover. Also, they don't just hit you, they outright annihilate you and you have to respawn. On the plus side, the area of effect on these items tends to be so large that they destroy just about everyone else, too, so you don't actually end up that far behind.

If you liked Cruisin World for the stunting accidents, you'd probably enjoy Burnout 3: Takedown
I love that game. Burnout Paradise (the next game in the series) wasn't as fun.

Hey, hey, Last Word is on gamespot! Quite the facelift there!
I just finished the game, but didn't manage to find all the secrets yet.

Currently going through several pokemon games: Colosseum, Heartgold, Black 2, Reborn, and Rejuvenation.
Oh, also Born Under the Rain. :3

Just finished playing an 8 hour Starbound session with my room mate. Holy fuck. That new update they did fixed so many of the issues with the game, it's really enjoyable now.
Kings Field 4
Hellnight
Bloodborne
MKX
Shining Force The Sword of hajya

Just finished Mother 3. The final battle nearly brought me to tears, and I'm honestly not sure if I saved the world or ruined everything...
Overall, while it did have plenty of things that pissed me off (resource scarcity being the major issue. It always feels like PSI-restoring items are rare, and with no heals after major boss fights, it makes it tough to stay alive), I found the game to be incredibly satisfying and a blast to play. I still can't really get the hang of that rhythm-based battle system, though, and I'm disappointed by Lucas' counter-intuitive skill set.

Replaying FFVII. It's been a while since I've played it from front to back, full game. After that I'm probably going to replay Mass Effect 2 or something.
How so? I'm not sure I remember his skill set too much other than he had handy healing magic.
