BEST RM GAMES YOU'VE EVER PLAYED

Posts

1. Ascendence - I'm loving what I'm seeing. Just great mapping, great music, great setting and story, and great eventing and debugging. I hope to see more of this project soon!

2. Paradise Blue - I'm a fan of many of Ocean's projects, but I think this one is his best project he's ever made. He makes his own graphics and they just look awesome here. The story was top par too.

3. Sore Losers - It gets cred for a nice story.

4. The Way - Big fan of the story.

5. Sunset over Imadal - If you've played it, you'd know why. I've never seen graphics like this for an RM2K before this. His style is a cut above most, and the story, again was key for it's success.

Well, it doesn't look that interesting, and I have no idea what a Suidoken is.

Double post I know but I just have to say this, YOU SIR, ARE DEAD TO ME! lol, seriously? You've never played Suikoden? I'd like to think Suikoden 2 was the best RPG for the Playstation. The game actually is now worth about $150, it's become a collectors item now.
What's Suikoden? Is it some kind of motorcycle?

I'd also have to say Exit Fate as well. It really is incredible.

(Sigh) Hokay, well if no one else will tell you about Suikoden I will. Suikoden is a series of RPG's made from Konami. The story is that of a militaristic one and they did feature some very unique concepts that no other game uses to date, that I can think of. These include a strategy system for moving troops, a dueling system based off of what your foe says, and each one has over 150 playable toons, to either join your party, or help with hero town building.

This sounds more like a stratagy game than an RPG, but it plays more like a typical RPG.

I get a little miffed if people don't know or just bash the game because its my favorite Pro RPG. No other series comes close, not Final Fantasy, not Diablo, not Fallout, nothing, it's just that good. I recommend Suikoden II or even III if you chose to seek out this game. You may have better luck getting a hold of Suikoden III as you can't find Suikoden I or II on the open market. Gamestop can't even convince people to sell their copies. Like I said, it's become a very rare, highly sought after collectible. Suikoden IV was meh, and V was okay, but the first three were probably the best.
Oh dear God. Suikoden is a god among RPGs. It's up there with Lufia II, Terranigma, Secret of Mana/Evermore and Chrono Trigger as the best of the best (on my list, anyway).

Suikoden Rant Ahoy!

There are 108 characters, a home base, deep political story, great characterization (for that many characters anyway), at least two different endings (the first two - more for the later ones) and a world history that makes me a very happy nerdette. This is all set in the same world during different times, but including some of the same characters - or descendants of -, nations, relics and general feel.

The first two games are hailed as the best, the third and fifth as pretty damn good, the fourth as something best forgotten or at least consigned to the dark depths of the history it was spawned from. The series also includes two Gaidens based on a certain character who retains a semi-major role in the third game, and a strategy RPG set a few years after the aforementioned fourth game. Also a DS game that had abso-bloody-lutely nothing to do with the other games except the title and the 108 stars of destiny.

There is also three different battle modes - normal monster battles where your party of six kills and maims and have combo attacks and protect close friends when they're hurt. Then there's the duels where the main character goes one on one against an enemy in a battle of rock, paper, scissors. Lastly there's the sometimes awesome war battles. Suikoden I uses a larger rock, paper, scissors system, whilst Suikoden II lets you mix and match your warriors into groups of five to take on the enemy in a strategy-esque way.

Seriously, why aren't you playing this yet?

You can download a version of both games for your PSP if you have one (I think they're about $5-15 each?), or buy them via ebay. Hell, if you can't get them that way, try other ways. You cannot call yourself an RPG gamer if you have never played these games.

Word.

In other news, I'd have to say my favourite RM games would be Heroes Realm, Love and War, Clouded Heart <3, Sunset over Imdahl, Three the Hard Way and War of Two Worlds. And Exit Fate. ^.^
Yeah, story for the win!
I just beat Suikoden 1 for the second time a couple months ago. It isn't my favorite, but it's one of the few RPGs that I feel warrants a replay.

I too have missed out on Suikoden.

What's cool is that I can play Suikoden OR Exit Fate OR Legion Saga and have the same exact experience.

No, there's no comparing Legion Saga to Suikoden at all. I've never played Exit Fate yet.

See, I wanted to mention Lufia I and II as well, but I didn't think anyone would know what I'm talking about. If peeps never heard of Suikoden, then the odds are the same they never heard of Lufia either. It's a shame, these are great RPG's that the young kids have never played.

I was joking/making fun of the amount of Suikoden clones there are. : P

I get the joke, just a side note...

Never figured out why Legion Saga was popular... Nor did I ever figure out why the creator bothered to try and protect other peoples resources. That just seemed like he was hoarding resources or something. Of course it was easy for me to do a simple grab, but the point is, he was hiding other peoples work without even consulting them that he was going to hide them in his folders. To me, that's just wrong...

EDIT! I wanna change my first number one game for RM2K3 to:

1. Super Columbine Massacre RPG: Why? Because I feel that the game has some very important points and I think more games should be doing what SCMRPG has done.

- What has this game done exactly? Well, it's opened up a discussion for serious topics in games, and more importantly, it opened a dialog with gamers over a serious topic. The game was about Columbine, and the shootings, but I feel it focused more on what lead up to the shootings, and the aftermath more than the shootings themselves. It was very well researched, and regardless of the quality, this was a hit game, the likes of which no RM2K game has reached before or since.

Most downloaded RM2K game ever, no, I can't make this up, it really was the most downloaded game ever.

I'm not spamming, sorry, I'm trying to announce a game that I've been making in shadows for more than three years. Thank you for your understanding, and enjoy!
Make a gameprofile for it! Gameprofiles get a lot more visibility than posts on a forum here. All you have to do is write up a description of your game and add three in-game screenshots and wait for your gameprofile to get approved. Then you can add downloads, blogs, even more images, edit the profile CSS to make your profile unique, and people can start commenting on each image/blog post/the profile itself! It'll also be visible in the site itself under the main page (latest downloads, random screenshots, recent screens/blog posts, and when it gets reviewed), the games tab (can be searched, filtered), and the recent reviews and blogs pages too!

tl;dr
Gameprofiles are excellent

Ye might be referring to me as well. Though I did enjoy the game, I felt, that since it was controversial I needed to explain my reasons for enjoying it. I took the links down though, just in case. Me no wanty trouble.
