ACTION RPGS

Is it just me, or is the genre 'Action RPG' heavily mis-used on this site?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but Action RPG usually implies some live-action combat system, right? Like unto Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, etc. right?
I've stumbled across so many games on RMN with the ARPG tag on their description, but use a classic turn-based battle system. WTF mate? What separates them from being plain ol regular RPGs?

I blame those meddling kids that think a game is awesome as long as it has a side-view battle system.
i.e. they think that having one of them bars that fills up over time for stuff to do things equals action rpg

Come to think of it, how is kiting events around in a tileset movement fashion even considered an action RPG?
I noticed this a long time ago, narco. Craze is a pretty terrible offender. Incompetence runs rampant!
What does this term, kiting mean? I believe action meaning it has melee or projectiles make it an action RPG.

I used the term really really really loosely to describe IGV. I feel that anything with elements based on twitch gameplay (i.e. Vagrant Story) can be considered an Action RPG. Dodging around tile-based maps to avoid enemies and traps and navigating combat menus where your command-entry speed matters might qualify a game to count...barely.
No.
I quantify an ARPG as a hack-and-slash with RPG statistics, or with an emphasis on RPG style gameplay, such as elemental attacks, etc.
I call KH and Baldur's Gate ARPGs. Super Mario RPG is an RPG with twitch elements to its gameplay. Dodging around enemies on a map to avoid fights doesn't count in my book. Nor does having ATB bars.
These people need to realize that there's more to the vanilla RPG genra name than DQ and FF.

post=90361...as an action-adventure. Zelda games aren't RPGs.
Ok, fine, real time combat with hack and slash or other, I'm pretty sure Zelda counts.
