deciding between 2k3 and VX is like deciding between eichmann and himmler
this may be slight hyperbole

AFD: Status effects are pretty standard and your basic FF set is not that impressive .
Also, for the record, I'm not debating 2k3 v. VX. I'm saying RM* != AGM.
Alsoalso, more Arian Wild!

There's a mansion up there.

@AFD: The HUD is better looking now but it still is taking up 50% of the screen, which is simply too much being obscured. If you used the same style but made it way smaller, players would appreciate it. The MagiTek looks pretty rough but the sword-based ABS stuff isn't bad, except there is a lot of running away-attacking-running away-attacking going on, maybe a strafe command or something would work better? The hit detection also looks a bit shaky but that might be a result of the giant animations overlaid every time there is a hit. I think ideally you should adapt this system to one less reliant on movement and more reliant on targeting and attacking (like FFXII's). That would be neat and, I think, more well received than a true ABS.
@East: Looks good, but what happened to you other game? I mean, it seems like it uses the same resources and style, but that one had a working battle system already, didn't it?
@Craze: Well that certainly looks like an RMVX screen!
edit: rockman which one is which? This is important! Also RMXP is totally Heydrich because it was really popular for awhile but then it went to Czechoslovakia and now no one uses it any more (I know people still use it but it is not as popular as it once was! ALSO ASSASSINATION JOKE!)

@AFD: About the HUD size, why don't you have the basic attack functional without a menu and have the rest of the options (Ability, Item, Magic) pop out on command? The enemies could freeze while the player selects from the options. You'd get around all that HUD crowding that way.

I was thinking about doing this, but when I tried the lag rendered the game unplayable.
I want the enemies to keep moving like they do on Final Fantasy 13. I love final fantasy 13!

The attacking and running away is my play style, you don't have to run away if you don't want to.
But I made sure players can't just button mash to win, you have to use strategie.
I build my ABSs with that thought in mind.
I must post this on GW!
Stop double posting.
Some chracters that I have been working on! They're for another old-school game that is sort of loosely based off of Ultima and those type of games. It will still be Dragon Warrior-like, though.

Classes.

NPCs.
Not really any sort of IN-GAME screenshot, but it's still something to show. I'll have them in a map in due time once I've made the Chipset.

You would need to see the goofy sunglasses to verify that statement
Either way, custom graphics are always a plus.
