Are we still arguing over this? In the long run, does it really even matter? If someone is more comfortable with one system over another, and that's where they shine, they shouldn't be forced to choose a system someone else prefers. Take me for example, I know RM2K3 backward, forward, up, down, in, and out. I can make AWESOME games with RM2K3, but I can't claim the same for VX, sorry, just can't, tried the trial, just didn't like it. You, love VX, you know it about the same way I know my RM2K3, you can make AWESOME games with VX, right? (don't know any of your projects though, I'll check one or two out though)

And yes, until I see a game like Asendence (favorite RM Game ever!!!) or Ebon Scape pop up made in VX, I will defend RM2K3 graphically.

I'm trying to figure out how dungeon crawler works so I can work on it, I talked to some nice friends about it and I have decided on a lot of things :)

I don't do this for me! I do it for the greater good.
I continue to use 2k3 because

a) scripts scare me
b) I'm so familiar with events
c) I have existing projects in 2k3.

IDGAF about graphics.

Look, if you like VX, use VX, but if you like RM2K3, then use RM2K3, again, it's about personal preference. Okay, nuff said, done with going off topic, we can have a RM2K3, XP, VX war in a topic that's related to it.

Moving on...

I'm dabbling on a new concept right now, this is a ship to ship combat. Your in a ship looking through your tactical screen and are under attack by a lone raider in a fighter.

Welp, Weasle, what does it look like when other options (besides Fight, Auto, Escape) are on the screen? Like skills, character names/HP, etc.
I am going to start planning out enemies and equipment drops for Village Brave.

Haha, to answer it: Dungeon hack is the title of the game, Dungeon Crawler is a genre :) I'm trying to learn or rather researching about some stuff about Dungeon Crawlers. It's complicated~

Well, You can see the HP, this is just in concept phase right now, so everything was set to the max. 9999 HP and 999 MP with the little purple bar at the end. Basicially that all blends right now and I love it, with that alone, you honestly can't tell that this is the standard combat RM2K3 screen. Though the fight, auto and Escape need to be tweaked a bit so that they look like they fit, and right now they don't.

As far as skills, or even attacking for that matter, I don't have anything as of yet, the project is only a week old and tactical was just something I strung together in a couple of hours. I basically had the idea in my head and didn't want to forget it, so that's why it was strung together real quick. I probably will work on tactical next after I finish Navigation, though, so I'll have more info on that next week.

I am familiar with Dungeon Crawlers, such as that they tend to have really nondescriptive names like "Dungeon Crawler" so I didn't know if "Dungeon Crawler" was the name of a specific Dungeon Crawler that you were referring to. Here's a less confusing version of this sentence:

"I am familiar with roguelikes, such as that they tend to have really nondescriptive names like Dungeon Crawler, so I didn't know if Dungeon Crawler was the name of a specific roguelike that you were referring to."

You er, ARE referring to roguelikes such as um, Rogue, Nethack, Stone Soup, etc, right.

Anyway, I have worked on several roguelike-influenced games and I attempted to make a for-realz roguelike as a community game. (It started out well but eventually fell apart without making any real progress.)

I also saw YF bandying about some kind of crazy roguelike script (it was in Japanese) on IRC.

hm I was thinking something along the lines of hybrid SMT: Strange Journey and Etrian Odyssey. I think Etrian counts as Roguelike because of that one tile movement thing but SMT doesn't really fall completely to it? I'm kinda confused on how it works to be honest ahaha..
