I pixel traced this because I can't draw mechs for shit (I'm not joking, and I wouldn't do it if I could draw them. I would post an example but it's too embarrasing D:) but I had no decent references for colours so all the colouring and stuff is all me :D
This guy is the first major boss for Cosplay Crisis rather than Guard Scorpion. The two robots played similar roles in FF7/FF8, with Dollet being FF8's equivalent of the Reactor (both were set as the demos, both introduced the player to major plot elements, and both had an arachnid robot!)
So in CC, rather than going through the Reactor and expecting the Guard Scorpion, X-ATM092 will appear and wail on your ass. Hehehehehe XD

Here is mine newest pixeling, its still in WIP early stages and Im pretty stuck on how to continue...
Try smoothing out the shades on the head. Make them rounder, right now they look kind of sharp and unnatural.
That's looking great bonehead! It just needs more smoothing and less jagged lines :')

It's metal, so no. Most I would do is possibly add some more AA. But I still have 30+ enemies to go, plus Limit Break animations and 4 animated battlers for the playable characters. I might come back to it AFTER I'm done with everything else D:
Oh and Nessiah, they look great, though I can't quite discern the gender of the middle character. Well I can, she has boobs, but her head looks very masculine >w<

the k-hos school of metal shading disagrees.
It's a much larger pixel than mine, so shading the metal like that looks wrong. I tried it- I was using that above pixel art as a metal reference >w<
SorceressKyrsty, you just need to use more colors that's all, or perhaps manage them better, you only have like four shades of gray/blue for a predominantly gray/blue sprite and like six shades of red for just the tiny red parts... and all in all you're only using like 20 colors while K-hos' sprite has many more.
But yeah, whenever you have the time, it would be nice to see that sprite shine a little more.

Speaking of 48x48 face pictures, here's the one I just did. I'm a fan of strong contrast. The hair keeps bothering me though, I'll fix it up later when I finish her battle sprite. It's certainly better than that pastel vector nightmare from before.

I rather like it without dithering. Dithering was a great option back when you only had like 4 colors to use. If you want to make it look better and have the time, increase the number of colors and add some specular highlights- it looks like dark gray plastic right now and is a bit too matte.
