WHY AREN'T THERE MORE TUTORIALS ON THE BASICS?
Posts
Well? I was just messaged by a "noob" who was trying to get started with RPG Maker VX. And we don't have a single damn tutorial for them to learn from. Nothing explaining switches, tutorials, events, etc. Things that people would need to know to make a game.
And you guys wonder why we have people making such incompetent garbage.

That's a terrible excuse for a large problem. As someone who doesn't know how the program works, what are they supposed to check out? They don't know what events are, how the tile layering works, how the database works. They would waste hours fumbling around inside the program.
EDIT: Figuring it out themselves is how this site ends up with mounds of shitty games that are barely functional. Try again.

Not good enough.
EDIT: As a pretty big site that has a large RM userbase, our solution is:
"watch a bunch of stupid videos on YouTube"? Really? That's what this site can muster together?

post=149220Hey all I had to learn from was Don's Adventures!
Not good enough.

That's not a beginner topic, kentona.
EDIT: YM, great. How about we try to finally get games made that are actually better than Don's Adventure?
It seems counter productive to not have an easy way for people to get involved in what this site is about. Seriously, there are two fucking tutorials in the RPG Maker VX section. That is pathetic.

Mary you must be a pure retard if you think someone wants to slog through the shitty Help file.
EDIT: kentona, that is once again not for beginners jebus shit.

WIP if you complain about the lack of tutorials why don't you write one yourself? :-)
EDIT: lol kentona

It is not my fault you guys cannot fathom what a beginner is. Where is the "Beginner's Guide to RMVX"? Nothing that has been posted is close to that. The video tutorials were the closest.
Mary: So what, I should be the person solely responsible for all the worth while content on this site? Especially for software that I don't use? Which is software a lot of people here DO use and are better at it than I am?

No, I am being perfectly rational. I run a site that has a huge glaring flaw in that it has a very high barrier to entry for people trying to learn from the beginning. And apparently it has a userbase that doesn't give a shit.
So, you are just catching on to the lack of beginner help now?? jebus WIP I brought this up repeatedly in the staff forum for years and have actively tried to address it for months.
but obviously that wasn't working so making a big public stink is the way to go

If RMN was to cater to extreme beginners, where's the resource section? I don't see a beginner working out how to make a battle animations by themselves, for example. Took me aaages to figure out what programs to use, and how to use them.
