RECOMMEND ME SOME GOOD COMPLETED INDIE RPGS PLEASE
Posts
Here is what I like and don't like
Exit Fate
Last Scenario
Legacies of Dondoran
Deadly Sin 2
Everlong
Dawns Light 1/2
Eternal Eden
Dhux's Scar
Lost Legacy Animania
- Anything large, with a solid story, good gameplay/distractions
Some of what I don't like
Anything released episodic/ or in chapters that doesn't deliver a whole story on its own ( or short incompletes such as aveyond 3)
Anything under 10 hours
Connected non world map types (secret of mana, seiken denetsu 3, etc... - used to like them but no more)
Games with way too much filler content, backtracking, "goody caves on a rock wall" and such (almost any aldorea title). Wild Arms series is an example of maximum allowable backtracking for me - some of these games make the wa series look perfect in comparison on that issue.
Cliche games. If it has a princess in dire need of rescue, 13yr old boy destined to be a hero as the main characters it is prob a pass.
Bad controls.
I would really like a nice FFtactics grid or srpg. Haven't played a good one of those in a long time and I didn't take to one I tried (? wings.... controls)
As to encounters/encounter rate I'm not picky. Will bring out cheat engine or something if they random instead of onscreen.

I'm not sure how to even approach this topic.
You must have a hell of alot of time on your hands playing through 10hour plus games.
How about just trying short and sweet games?

Give the Game search a spin. Punch in "Completed", search for "RPG" tag, and look at each game that comes up that catches your eye. Read the description, check out reviews (don't just look at the star rating), and give some a spin!
Besides Hero's Realm, Legend of Illarion looks decent, The Reconstruction is a sound tactical RPG with a good art style. I don't think any of these match every restriction but I'd suggest poking around in their game profiles to get an idea if this is a game you'd like to try.

aaaa what the the hell how come noone said barkley yet http://gamingw.net/forums/index.php?topic=68488.0
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

In the spirit of being completely predictable, I'm recommending my own game, Vindication. I'm pretty sure it doesn't have any of the problems you mentioned, at least!
It's about the same length and the same density of cut scenes as the world of balance in Final Fantasy 6, so if the amount of "filler" in that game doesn't bother you, Vindication probably won't either. The game is very much a comedy, but the comedy is presented in a manner similar to Disgaea - that is to say, while you're laughing at the asinine dialogue, the game is slowly building your affection for the main characters, and secretly building a surprisingly serious plot that gradually works its way to the forefront. There is admittedly an evil empire, which you might not like, but about halfway through the game this trope gets turned upside-down.
I'm not sure why I'm the first person to recommend my own game. It seems like a pretty obvious move to me! Maybe not many people have games that fit.

Whatever man, you silly old dude. Some of your requirements are realy bullshit (like the non-world map type), but whatever. The best way to find the game that you wnt is to research them yourself. But I can recommend games that are highly regarded and not yet mentioned here:
1) Visions & Voices
2) Alter aila and the upcoming alter ails genesis (in October)
3) The Way (complete); 6 episodes in total
4) A Blurred Line ( now this may be incomplete, but it is legendary! If you have never tried this game, you cannot consider yourself to be a hardcore rpg maker player based on your requirements)
5) The Longing Ribbon (if you're into horror non traditional style rpg)
These, along with others mentioned here, are absolutely what you ought to try.

You could try some of the Spiderweb Software RPGs. And although they're technically episodic there's quite a bit of content in the Eschalon series.
Oh and the beforementioned Barkley of course.

I think your 'dislikes' wipe out close to my entire catalogue, but Iron Gaia is close to ten hours long, if you squint. It also doesn't resemble any of the RPGs you do like, and more importantly it's getting closer and closer to what I consider juvenilia and not at all representative of my present quality of work.
In terms of games I didn't make, I'd like to officially recommend Aurora Wing, but I can't because I haven't actually played it...it's quite well thought of, though! I can and do recommend Three The Hard Way, which is my favorite RM game that meets your nonsense requirements.

I'll recommend this indie game:
Fable Of Heroes (LE)
I may be bias, but it's about 10 hours long and is pretty solid. It's gotten some good feedback and has fun classic SNES/NES gameplay.

If you want something a little different from the norm, try:
The Sword and the Fish
Boss Project V
