LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I hate opening the editor up and being unable to make game content because the infrastructure isn't in place yet.
I can't make any maps until I have Zelda style tools coded, and I can't make any battles or cut scenes until I have maps, and I can't really plan out most of my abilities very far beyond the beginning of the game until I have battles.
And I really, really don't want to code tools. I don't even know where to start.
So basically I open the editor each day, spend a few minutes realizing I can't do anything without 200 hours of coding first, and then close the editor and come here to talk about theory instead.
(On the plus side, I actually got skill cooldowns working last night, so that's one piece of infrastructure done. 200+ to go.)

Just the attack animations I've been working on for FF72DR. Also got a few custom backgrounds I've been working on but I won't be sharing those just yet (not using chipsets, every area is completely redrawn). :)
Vanit, you have far too much patience.
I'm working on convincing myself that I'm not going to die tomorrow.

Wooo, added a <skill type: doa> tag - skills can now target an ally whether they are dead or alive! This is good because Karsu wants the MC to have this:
Forbidden Pact One ally at a time can act while dead with decreased stats. Stats increased based on Awareness.

Finished v0.7 of Flower last night; gonna play a bit of ME2 to get my juices flowing again, and then probably either boss lairs or the 2nd tier agility dungeon. I'll post screenshots of either when I'm done, and probably videos of one of the boss lairs. Which would ya'll rather see?

It looks horrible, but it's alive.
EDIT: More recent version:

Why do we RM-types have the compulsive need to use the RTP's closest approximation of what we'll eventually implement; all the way up until we eventually replace them; even though we could have just left it completely default and it wouldn't have made an ounce of difference?
(Edit: I doubt you are... But I'm -really- sorry if you're actually going to use those faces.)
Because this layout doesn't use names, so it makes it much easier to tell who is who? That said, I do the same thing for every game. XD
Also, the fact that Karsuman's art is displayed in one of the pictures should tell you that he is doing original work for this game!

For me, it's for my own sake. Even if I know I'm going to create better enemy graphics later, I will give the human mage enemies human mage graphics from the RTP, because a year or two from now when it's time to draw my battlers I want to make sure I remember what types of appearances they're supposed to have.
author=SorceressKyrstyYou have no idea how often I get this reaction. :P I should have a small playable demo soon that'll include part of the bombing mission.

author=SorceressKyrstyI dunno, 3 years isn't that long. I think that's pretty short for creating any sort of worthwhile game, unless you have a large team that actually sticks together from beginning to end (which is a mythical scenario)

Just to give people a taste of whats to come, this is basically the quality of what you can expect from FF72DR. This background isn't quite finished yet as it still has placeholder textures on the ground, I still need to do the proper lighting on the path and the dirt around the various objects, but its getting there. Does it look familiar? :)

Does "FF72DR" stand for "Final Fantasy VII 2-D Remake?" Because, uh, looks a hell of a lot like a demake to me. You are obviously motivated and somewhat talented, but... meh ^ 7.
author=CrazeIf anything I'm calling it a remake because 2d demake doesn't exactly roll off the tongue, additionally ff72dd is a hexadecimal value so it'd muddle any attempt to google it, but googling ff72dr gets only stuff related to my remake. I can appreciate that some (many?) people dislike the concept on principle regardless of the quality of implementation, and as such I'd prefer you'd keep comments like that to yourself as its just not useful feedback to say the least.

But if you look at the systems he's evented it's pretty clear there's a lot of effort. Hell, CC's taken effort and I still can't get it to look like FF7 (and that was the plan the entire time). Sure, I'm satisfied with the current layout because it means CC has its own charm, but still makes me fairly jealous.
Though I'm not envious of the amount of work it's going to take to resprite everything. Limit Breaks *shudders*
About to go to bed, but it turns out CC's RTAB has been broken for the last goddamn two years. The action isn't meant to pause when the command window pops up; rather, if it's set to Wait, during enemy selection, skill and items, semi, skill and items, and on full, no pause at all. It's fixed now; I've added Battle Config to the main menu so players can choose depending on skill level. This is basically a difficulty setting, so that means players can make CC harder if they like.
In other news, first frame of Kyer's Invisible Full Moon done (3rd Limit Break). It's like FF8's Mad Rush. It lasts for 3 turns, causing Berserk, Shell, Protect, Haste, double ATK. The animation is only three frames long in terms of her sprite. Still need to finish her dog and then do all the bg graphics for it.

This made me laugh.
*Craze is working on V&V2DRi BSD

Why don't you just call it Final Fantasy 7 2D Edition, or FF72DE...?
Anyway, your call about FF72dd doesn't even make any sense...You're thinking too much into the title of DR or DE or DD or whatever man...
Of course, not that you should call it a demake. That's of course a no.
