author=Gourd_ClaeQuestions will pretty much be the main mechanic of my game, and there won't be battles unless I interlace them with puzzles.
I tried to make it look pretty\creepy\asthetically pleasing but I DEFINITELY need some feedback or suggestions. Of course it will be accompanied with creepy music and then knowledge that shit is going down while you nonchalantly add another question and are about to be thrown right in the middle of it.
Even though I can't really imagine what this is gonna be about, I already think it's cool ^^ (maybe because I'm thinking of Catherine now)
For the graphics though you might want to look at comics or mangas to see how to create different moods and atmospheres. This screenshot just looks like Vivi without his coat and hat on and paint splats.
The font's style is fine but maybe could be made a bit more readable.

Working on a dungeon - The Desert Shrine, an ancient tomb built by the Dark Elves native to the Nysorothian desert. Inside, many corpses are left perfectly preserved, originally left as a sacrifice for the Fire God Ifrit. However, the once sacred burial place is now desecrated, and home to an evil tribe who are guilty of extortion, rape, and murder. The tribe is led by the power-hungry dark elf who calls himself "Zibinx".
Does anyone else ever find themselves completely redesigning a room/the entire dungeon multiple times? I'm satisfied with some rooms in this dungeon, but not others.
Sounds like a really cool dungeon idea!
As for redesigning dungeons, you're definitely not alone. I've redesigned Blackmoon Prophecy's Water Shrine dungeon two times. I'm fairly happy with the third incarnation.

1. It's basically asking either deep personal or story-oriented question, even some questions that can't be answered! I'm glad you think it looks cool. Later, once you gain sufficent information, you answer it out of 2-4 possible answers that determine the outcome of the story.
2. Yeah, I knew it had some issues with atmosphere which is the main reason I posted it. I thank you for your suggestion. Though, could you give a few good examples? (Oh, and that was blue blood but I should probably make it red if I want to make it a little more obvious what it is, huh?
3. Dammit, Vivi, you're awesome but you need to stay out of my game...yeah, I think I went a little Vivish there too, but it's at the bottom of my to do list.
4. I'll see what I can do with the font, and thanks again.
Working on the second part to Blackmoon Prophecy's final dungeon. This is zoomed out to 1/8. The yellow is the panorama tile.

Aiming to make it into a 300x300 map or so.
The first map is 150x150. I hope to have a third map that will be around 100x100 or so.

@Gourd_Clae: I'm no expert at drawing atmosphere but if you take a look at horror animes or mangas and observe the shots/images' contents, the lighting, the background objects and colors, the zoom ins/outs, the facial expressions, etc. you might understand how to set a specific atmosphere in your own drawings.
The Hellsing Ultimate OVAs (and Hellsing mangas) nail that. Do a google image search and you should find great examples to look at. This image for instance: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AZ3u2Estsp8/Tc3gTGfS2XI/AAAAAAAAAFI/1fxUblxlGbA/s1600/hellsing_v02_c06-12.jpg
This guy's a monster slaying priest. There might be several meanings to every aspect of this image, but one that obviously contributes to the atmosphere is the lit eye and smile amid the shadowed face: it conveys that this man is evil and has a predator-like behavior. How would you feel if you found yourself in front of this man? Feelings conveyed by the image could be fear of being attacked, panic or awe.

Trying to sprite the soldiers of UDF. I really don't have the time or energy to do anything else since I started my 9 month service in the army.

I'm making my MGS-game easier I suppose...
Soldiers' vision will be more forgiving so you get a margin of error.
This is still plentiful of work as I have to modify EACH FREAKING SOLDIER IN THE GAME individually!
I'm hoping the work will be appreciated...

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I didn't find it too hard. Well, I mean, I got about five hundred game overs, but I figured that was kind of the point. Perhaps only do this up through the end of the first or second dungeon, to ease the learning curve?
I'm starting up a small story centric project with minimal resource requirements to help me get back into maker use. I almost can't believe how much slower I've become, and how hard it is for me to make perfect sense of my own event code (even when properly commented), after a short three month hiatus!
author=LockeZYou seem quite forgiving towards it all, which not everyone seem to be.
NicoB stopped his 'Let's Play' as it is now because it seems too hard.
The game is not supposed to be easy, hence the small death penalty.
But that many Game Overs was not intended unless you're aiming for it.
The soldiers' vision is understandable unfair as almost as soon as you see a soldier, they will see you as well. But the Alert mode I have my doubts about changing. The whole point is to avoid it and if you run through a few rooms in panic meant to be induced, you might shake the enemy and hide. Guaranteed hiding spots might remove that feeling.
Think I fixed this new feature on all soldiers, but it seems like I've created a new problem. Let's re-modify all soldiers AGAIN!

Drawing "things"
Anything not RTP is made by me and is going to be in my game. It's a lot easier to just draw right ove everything so I don't have tile issues. What do you think? I'm having perspective problems with my slanted wall--I'll post a screenshot demonstrating this soon.
EDIT: Actually, I won't until my problem is solved.
I'm trying to figure out how I turned a relatively simple text based game idea into the digital equivalent of a Gordian knot with a half mile diameter. I need to learn how to pare things down to the bare functional minimum (plot wise) and stick to it.

MUTHAFUCKIN' TIIIIILES~
Anyone have any feedback for me? It's my first time attempting a cliff face. OTL

Looks good. Like, it looks like it was ripped from Seiken Densetsu 3. That uh might just be an illusion caused by the fact that it's sitting on sand ripped from Seiken Densetsu 3, but IT ALSO MIGHT NOT BE.
Roundish rocks at the bottom look kind of odd and might work better if they were a more similar shape to the rocks above. I don't think it'll tile without being obvious, and you might need to make the pattern be 2x2 instead of 2x1 to make it tile well. But I'd actually have to see it tiled as-is to tell for sure. Remember to align your tiles so that you can have cliffs of any height! You might not want every cliff in the game to be 2 tiles high.
