My severe WIP of a town. I have a long way to go, and a lot of detail to fill in.. And being the idiot I am, I've done it in MSPaint rather than a program with layers. I hate my brain sometimes.


The view that RM games use is one form of "Parallel Projection" which, to make a long story short, means that you can't have that sort of thing. Everything needs to match up along parallel lines and with planes of equal size relative to the other parts of the object and the observer's position etc etc.

Other than that building I'd say the map looks really cool though!

Thanks, I'm glad it's not too horribly simple so far. ^^ And thanks for the feedback on the building to both. I oftentimes need things to be pointed out or to have it sit for a while before I can really tell whether something looks right, and I can certainly see that it uhh.. well it looks less than great. I've fixed it up now, and while I'm less pleased with not having buildings pointing in different directions, it looks more natural now. I'd try to reupload it but Photobucket is being a wang. >:(

Procrastinating on scripting the two cutscenes that will end Chapter 1 of my game. Instead, I added no fewer than 7 (seven!) new rooms to the Academy. Now I'm starting to populate them with NPCs and loot (because it just isn't an RPG without rampant kleptomania!) :-3
Designing the puzzles for my puzzle mansion game. Playing around with cloning the hero to control several switches at once, combining several puzzles into one great puzzle, non-euclidean geometry, trying out my hand at physical situation puzzles (at failing!), and a physical "switches" version of the Tower of Hanoi. Also thinking about how to integrate the story into the game without cutscenes, in an unobtrusive manner.

Worked on a better titlescreen for my Liberated Arms game.

Also changed the character recruitment to 96 minus the Chapter placements.

I have many empty actors, that I could fill up for special purposes.

Fixing up the emotion portraits for a character. After that, I'm gonna go parallax a couple of maps
i added a windmill. now an npc can have a fresh squeezed glass of wind with her breakfast every morning.

RFC stands for Rugby Football Club.. but all the ones I've seen have only ever used their pitches for rugby. :P

Missing the Welsh is forgivable.. I mean, it's mainly gibberish as a language. No one in real life pays any attention to it, so it's probably a good thing that it wasn't spotted!

And thanks! I'd considered overloading it with a few more things, but I think I'll let the rest of the map pan out before I decide which places need more details..

More on that game Juilet & The Trio of Magnalada.

I might change the name of it, seeing as Trio means threesome(hawt), three people party member lol. So maybe The Clan of Magnalada.

The game is kind of light hearted/dark/funny(Yeah, well I'll work on that) at the same time.
FINALLY FINALLY done with working on the Bless abilities! YES YES YES! After 3-4 straight months of work, this coding hell is finally over! ;_;

So now I'm thinking of taking a break from the game, but don't know...there's still a few other things that I can do (the big one being actually WORKING on beta5 stuff), but this mapping is the next thing in my way...thinking of an innovative way of doing this dungeon design. It's meant to be a maze where whenever you enter an area, there's a % chance of something being in there (Nobody, 1 boss, 2 bosses, or all 3 bosses that will attack you; the bosses are fighting with one another, but you can still fight them if you engage them; the bosses are there, but are KO'd and cannot be engaged). I also need an innovative puzzle for getting a key item that's needed for crossing a dungeon later in the beta....ughhhhhh ;_;

To top it off, I still need to put in battle animations for a lot of stuff, namely for the new secondary commands I have for characters...

So now what to do? Work more on the game (either mapping/working on beta5, or doing more overall coding/battle animations) or to take a break from my game? T-T

Hola Quistis! That looks good, I can't wait to see what the sprite looks like!
Currently converting and reformatting my custom tilesets and resizing all my artwork. I'm still working on my new battle hud and map design at the moment.

I'm coming close to the one year anniversary of my project, and while it is nowhere near finished I have learned a lot about every aspect of game design.
