Finally coding a game in Java. Making a small roguelike-like. Its virtually from scratch but I'm following a tutorial. Set up Eclipse with Git for the first time and don't know why I didn't do so sooner. My Github finally isn't a wasteland. I'm beginning to feel like an actual programmer.

Pfffft. I see what you did there. Making lichen seem like plural lich.
I just hate the way Liches sounds phonetically, so I just pulled a Blizzard and made a different interpretation on that. Though such behavior isn't anything new, Dragons plural was Dragonar since way back, Monkeet too-- and there's other examples I forget.
Now back to my wonderful seclusion. Heh Heh.
Oh yeah, got some cool work done.
-Savepoints are no longer shady robed cult monkeys, they are now obelisks. Because Menagerie did it and hell if I'm spriting a new bunch of crap to replace what already exists and is solid. Obelisks are cool!
-Autosaving is in, and often occurs one line of dialect before a boss fight (among other places), so no more re-reading for the 30th time when fighting Esperia. Now it's right back into the action!
More JRPGs need collectible card games. The last one I can remember was in the first Xenosaga game. So I decided to rectify that.

(Click for ginormous)
It's basically Triple Triad crossed with Pai Gow Poker. To beat an adjacent card, both numbers on that side have to beat both numbers of the card that's already there. Similarly, if both numbers are lower, you lose the card. If one wins but not the other, it's a tie, and neither card changes. The colored backgrounds are elements (will eventually work in icons in addition to the color for that); attacking a card of the opposite element gives +1 to your numbers. White cards facing left are yours, and black ones facing right are the opponent's. Eventually, I will have more than just character art cards, but this is all prototype stuff for now anyway.

bbut I'm shopping
Have more cards your own color when the board is filled up. Sorry; figured that was an obvious assumption!

FF8 is my favorite mainline game, and it wasn't even my first. COME AT ME!
Pai Gow is the cheapskate's best friend in Vegas. And you can go through a lot of free Jack & Cokes in one sitting.

Here's my first character portrait, work in progress.

The pig will probably set the artistic tone for the other characters. I drew them first but they came out a bit poorly, or too realistic.
My avatar is from Mr. Driller series, maybe I should take inspiration from it.
I freakin love that series's art style!
Normally such a style would be too zany for a ww1 themed game, but after taking the pig into account, a zany style is appropriate.
EDIT:

zeello, that's a really nice style even if the portraits aren't what you want for the final game. also, you can't get much zanier than monster strike's take on the world wars...

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Oh it's like the underwear witches anime except they're not in their underwear
Zeello's game needs that pig to be a flying planepig, wearing underwear that's colored like the British flag, with double-decker plane wings strapped to its back and fighter jet engines attached to its haunches, and its curly tail spinning like a propeller. You can't convince me I'm wrong.

That RAM looks like it will speed you up a lot, but I think it's overheating and you might crash
author=LockeZReminds me of a very old image of mine based on porcine turbulence.

I regret nothing.
Sweet pig. Can't tell if he's smirking or scowling, which makes it even better.
Monster Strike inexplicably turned Napoleon Bonaparte into a little girl, but otherwise, it's decent as far as cash grab mobile games go.
Anyway, video footage! With jaunty music!

Holy shit I feel like devving, this is good!
Today I'll begin and likely finish both the Act 2: End of Stage 1 and End of Stage 2 cinematics, it's common practice to bring my notepad with me where ever I go, so they are already storyboarded, and all of Stage 2 is already mapped out.

I'm working on a Final Fantasy game.. yeah I know.. a lot of those already.
Only mine's not called Final Fantasy ANYTHING.. it's simply titled Legends of Fate.
Kinda stuck at the moment trying to figure out how to have a box that shows off a list of the enemies in battle like FF 1 all the way to FF6 did.
I kept trying to alter the enemy window script that normally you use for selecting an enemy and modifying that, but I keep running into all sorts of issues, like right now the box vanishes when I select an enemy.
Forget all that... figured out most of it. Just not sure how to tell @enemy_window.refresh each time an enemy dies.

Other than that, I still have a Phantasy Star fan game on the back burner.
