I agree with the rest of your post though, but I think its too fashionable to hate on gaems these days anywhere. As long as you're providing constructive criticism, your words aren't empty when responding to games.
See, that's the thing. Disliking/hating a game is one thing, and you're right; providiging constructive criticism is absolutely warranted and helpful. Being a hater, on the other hand...

I actually had an idea to preserve the compatibility with people designing around the 2k3 agility. What would happen is that the global battle time would be normal for a short second (so the player can take in what happened) and then speed up to the next action by some battler. If you've played Grandia before you'd notice everyone on the ATB zooms up until the next thing happens.

So it's just glorified CTB. (If multiple actions go off at the same time, then it'd be different, but...)

Yeah, contests are awesome. I'm not a very contest-esque person myself (I'm more of a consumer in that regard), but I love seeing them.
Also, don't make butt games. There are more than enough discussion topics on gameplay, game design, game distribution, etc etc for an astute person to read and put all of that together and be able to creatively and competently make a good game. Don't make butt games.

everyone wants to help out (Especially for a noob like myself). i think thats the the spirite of this site and thats why i keed coming back.
so pleese don't ever change and if there are changes to be made then we need to fix it before it gets out of hand.

Compaing RMN to GW I gotta say, you guys are nicer. I use the Sphere game Engine and there's at least a place here besides the Sphere community. You guys actually host Sphere games! :D

The "Us Vs. You" mentality that seems to run rampant in most RM communities is particularly detrimental, especially when it comes to gameplay and design philosophies. Some people act way too full of themselves, thinking their design philosophy is the only one that is worthwhile.
It's not. There are plenty of options available to everybody here. I don't think any of them are inherently bad or good, it just depends on implementation and execution.
What constitutes as "fun" or "an experience" varies from person to person. You will not please everybody. Finding the audience for your game and then building upon that is something all developers - amateur or professional - do. We should be nurturing these differences in every developer, not tearing 'em asunder just because they don't fall in line with what we think is standard.
Voicing your opinion on how such designs can be improved and sharing it is very much to the benefit of the community, but insulting someone who takes a different approach is not.
