that's a good point. i had all but forgotten about the rumble pak controversy and sega/sony's documented unscrupulous acts. unless anyone can provide an explanation for this behavior, i think there can be no arguing against nintendo being, at the very least, the most moral game company.

Thats hilarious seeing as how Nintendo is the Nazi party of the video game industry, Just look at how Nintendo treated Square Soft for years as an example as to how Nintendo thinks and acts.
Hell the playstation would not even exist if Nintendo were not a bunch of greedy two faced lying cunts!

It was a mixture of both an lack of advertisement (or none at all) and at the time SEGA was facing financial difficulties (major losses).
It's japanese release was a bomb while the western realease did have some sucsess, Its game line up wasn't somthing to drool over (only a few gems) then three years after launch the PS2 came out and, well no other console has ever outsold the PS2.
The dreamcast would be discontinied later in 2002 (2007 in japan) (but games were still made for it after) mostly from debt and the fact Sony (PS2), Microsoft (X-box) and Nintendo (Gamecube) where dominating (in that order), there was no hope for the system from the begining

Actually, what you said is extra gibberish that has nothing to do with Sony having SEGA to fail. People brought the PS1 and N64 over the saturn because those systems had quality titles and support. If Sony wasn't there, the SEGA thing may have eneded up better and the Dreamcast may have been a success. Though in the current time, the PS2 crushed all hope of anybody.

I ended up buying a pre-owned Chunky PS3 with the bigger HD that can also play PS2 games (& I got a Dual Shock 3 ++ Rumble with it- bonus!), and I haven't really touched my X-Box after that. Not really because I feel PS3's soo much better.. I think it's because it's still got the new-thingie shine for me, and because I have a lot of PS2 & PS3 exclusive games to catch up on.
I like the Wii, when there's games to play. X-Box is fun enough too. I'm not crazy about anyone of them, I love all my kids equally, I guess I'm just doting on the PS3 for awhile yet.

You missed the point entirely, It wasn't just Sonys fault, it was a multitude of reasons that lead to its death, you can't pick one and ignore the rest

Yes, if that one reason is the larger percentage of the death. Say, I stabbed you 40 times. But I didn't break anybones, and ou are still alive. If I shoot you in the head, chances are you are not alive, and stabbing AFTER I shot you just makes sure you're dead.
The Dreamcast was a great system. It was a lot of fun and had a good ideology. However, it was campaigning against XBOX and Nintendo already. The fact Sony launched PS2 isn't the reason it died. It was already floundering. I'm not supporting PS2 in this, I love my DC and it's still hooked up to my tv for Crazy Taxi and shit. PSO was amazing too, I loved that game like nothing else.
Unfortunately, the system was hackable and the technology was quickly becoming dated. I dunno. I would have LOVED to have DC keep going, and say be playing DC3 now but, that is a pipe dream. It's like crying over 3DO not lasting. (coughplaystationagaincough)
