The screen involves the main character Talyssa (green haired girl) traveling with her party member (the one in the Kimono) Aile.
Aile is kind of a unique party member as she acts, in battle, like more of a summon you call her and she aids you. She is not controlled by A.I but rather player input. Aile has a unique ability to shift into the real world and another plane (which is why she appears to be a ghost). She's also part of the game story, not just used in battle.
Talyssa and Aile are travelling through an Ice Cavern when these tough men attack you. These men made a home out of the Ice Cavern and you're seen as invaders. The ladder leading down below is where the family of the tough men are. So if you kill them for example you leave the children below as orphans.
Don't make orphans of the children. There was actually some more things I wanted to get in this screenshot like a rugged fur mat near the ladder and smoke animation to show that there are occupants below. A friend added his ideas as well which I put off for the time being.

@Ghost: That screen looks sick!
This is a place of respite for lost souls.
=========SPOILER=========
The being that Shiva talks about towards the end is actually you, the player. A lot of people didn't even catch this when the map was released but now you know!

I really like this video, Lotus :)
The only problems are the emote-bubble sound effect, and pauses.
Hearing the beep during that peaceful song is weird, and those pauses will become
annoying to anyone who plays the game multiple times.

@Ghost: When I saw your screenshot I thought there was a rift(?) on the ground, but then I realized it was just a strange rock formation on the ceiling. I guess it looks a lot less confusing once in movement, but you may want to look into that anyway. Also, what engine is this? Is it rm2k3 by any chance? Whichever it is, it looks terrific. I love the sprite work. =)
@Clareain: Thanks so much, I didn't even realize the sound effects might be annoying until you mentioned it and watching it afterwards, I have to kinda agree with you =] I'll tone down the emote sound effects in my future projects, thanks again!

Cool beans.
It's a bit out of synch because for some reason playing the music after the start methods seems to do that and I made the original song code before that.
I made a minigame!(^w^)*Not really,it's part of a mission*
You have to kill all the monsters(Heaven smiles) before they reach you.

Working on a retro 8-bit styled project. Getting the annoying things out of the way first!

Haven't done any dungeon/town tiles for the map yet. The tiles are about 33% Dragon Quest, 33% Final Fantasy, and 33% original.

Good to see you haven't quit RMing with the release of your magnum opus, UPRC.
And what a project it is, that you've moved on to.

Yes sir, inspiration hit me like a watermelon.

Is that a VX project or XP or ACE in 8-bit? :O
VX Ace.

Just a little something I've been working on...
Something to do with the way I caught this image as I scrolled down and how the hero's eye is shut made it look as though he was kissing that zombie..
@Spellbinder : I like your backgrounds and the hud, The sprites are particular.
@J-Man : those animations are really smooth, and the way the earth shakes is neat. Fun to watch, if a bit longuish.

Seconded. Really well done, Spellbinder.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

@Spellbinder:
Those benches are twice as tall as the humans. So are the fences in the first screen. Is this a game about a zombie infestation that happens after Dr. Evil shrinks everyone on the planey with a shrink ray? If not you should find backgrounds that aren't designed for sprites five times taller than the ones you're using.
Also, the animation isn't being darkened like the rest of the screen, in the first screenshot. Other than that it looks fine. I like zombies in general, and I like the look of your HUD even though I can't tell what it's supposed to do or show.
@UPRC:
Can you desaturate that just a LITTLE bit? Even as 8-bit retro graphics go, that seems extremely bright. You are pretty good at making world maps (and probably know that) so I don't really have any other suggestions. There are no actual locations that I can see on that map but I assume that's a temporary problem ;) Tileset is very functional, if you hadn't said it was a mash-up I wouldn't have known it wasn't designed to all be used together.
