I like the phrase "job as a badass". : )

Puritanism has strong views about sexual morality, believing that it should only be done within the confines of marriage, and never done for recreation; only for procreation. In fact, puritanism condemns any form of recreation, not only sex; it believes the pursuit of pleasure to be selfish and sinful.

In stark contrast, the idea that sex is an enjoyable but intimate and personal act, which is acceptable between two lovers, is a commonly held idea among a huge number of modern people of almost all religions, but especially among atheists and agnostics.

So basically, what people have declared as 'puritanism' in this forum is not entirely puritanism unless the bolded statement also holds true for the individual.

I am neither in the former nor the latter category. I'm a fun-loving, let-loose individual, but I believe sex to be the ultimate seal of the dedication professed in the vows of marriage, the bond meant to solidify those vows in physical, tangible unity, and that it should be saved for that moment and, after that initial consummation, that person. Wherever and whenever it happens from that point on, as long as it's with that one person, is up to the creative and physical limitations of the couple within the allowable legal limits.

I'm of the belief that casual sex usually results in strife, trouble and unwanted results; the abortion industry's existence is the most obvious proof of this statement, and some other repercussions, both scientifically proven and unscientifically proven but observable, support this statement as well.

Statement unfinished... will be back at a later date to conclude it.

It is in my opinion reasonably acceptable, by modern standards, to colloquially call you a Puritan, based on this statement.

Also, that you hold these beliefs makes me want to ask either what country you were raised in or how old you are (because either you are from a vastly different culture, or you will probably grow out of this) but I'll refrain as those are BOTH pretty rude questions. : )

How so? They are 2 totally different things. How should they be equal? They should both be dealt with maturely, but they shouldn't be thought as being both equally controversial.

Yeah, in a mature manner. I guess that's what I meant, but perhaps it's because I view religion and god a little differently than what the norm is.

But let's just leave it at that.

But, hey wait, why does being a so-called Puritan have to relate strictly to sexual activity? I mean, that sounds like what everyone is implying. Are people who think smoking pot and doing drugs--activities done simply for pleasure--is bad not puritans, or what?

I don't do drugs and I don't smoke, not even regular cigarettes (in smoking's case, it's because I hate smoke, and that's it), but I don't care if people do them. Granted, I'd highly prefer not to be around people who are doing them, but when their not doing them I can enjoy their company. Yeah, I place a stigma on both of them, but I don't think it's necessarily a horrible thing to do; it's just pleasure-seeking, which is something I do, too, just not in the form of sex or drugs.

That's why I don't consider myself a "puritan."
If it doesn't add to the story why put it in? Regardless of what the topic is, if it doesn't enhance the plot of the game, what is the point of including it in the game? If you think of a game like FFVII, sex is implied at a couple different points in the game, but nothing is shown (Cloud and Tifa sleeping under the stars together as Meteor is coming). Had they shown more in that scene I personally feel like it would have taken away from the story.
