Let me tell you the story of a human by the name of Bhazjadorr who, along with his brother, becomes a bugbear in this crazy faerie tale adventure! Journey with Bhazjadorr and help him uncover the mystery of the Crystal King's curse, whose heart has been turned to a crystal and unmask the true culprit behind this sinister act. Discover new allies, uncover a lost lineage and face your fears against the Black Knight, a shadowy figure responsible for your curse.

Will this faerie tale have a happy ending? Or will you succumb to the Black Knight's curse?

To be continued...? Am I gonna finish the game??

Hello everyone. It's the Annoying Bugbear and today, I have some major news to drop about the game.

As of today, the demo is no longer available for a number of reasons: it's old, outdated and I haven't been very active lately. I have to apologize for anyone that really wanted to play it or see the game's latest changes but so far, I haven't been doing the best job as a developer to keep things up-to-date. Thankfully, the game isn't going to be canceled. It's just being postponed until things settle down in my life. The biggest change happening right now is that I'll be moving to somewhere very nice and warm for the winter so once I'm all moved in, I can continue with the game's development and we'll see what happens from there.

I'm also planning to start up a YouTube channel coming towards the end of November, where I'll be unveiling some important information about the release date, a playthrough of my current build and unveiling some brand new characters (just like this one!). And a possible title change. Just a heads up. When that'll happen, it will be on a very special event. And I'm gonna need a pumpkin pie for that date.

So, that's all I want to get off my chest (...or beard in this case). I will see you guys on a later date once I'm all done moving here. And again, I am very sorry for the inconvenience ya'll. To make up for it, I'll leave you guys with a little teaser of these four characters here. Can you tell who the bad guys are? Just a preview on what's to come. -Chief

You Bugbear may be Annoying, but sure your demo is far from boring! I played it in normal mode, the mapping is very good, the difficulties are well balanced and levelling up easy: I look forward your next update! In the meantime, congrats and keep on the good work !

Thanks Old Timer for playing! I was a bit concerned that the demo would've been dry without sidequests and stuff but hopefully Worik's bad humor and some nice eye candy of the King made up for it. Lots of new changes are coming soon so stick around and subscribe if you can.

Fun fact, a bugbear also means an irritable or annoying person so my name sake means to annoy you twice! It's why I chose 'Chief' as my nickname 'cause I'm a boss. Literally.
Is this still being worked on? I love me some orc love.

Edit: Judging by pagey, IT APPEARS TO BE <3 *subscribes*

Yes Kylaila! Thank you for the sub! I've been making some progress for the game so if you love to get rough with some orcs, then you're in for a treat! I'm glad that there's an audience for this kind of thing because orcs and bugbears deserve some love in an RPG!
You'll be drooling over the Crystal King himself, he's my personal favorite =p
Hahahahaha, I love that you take it that way *chuckles* I meant more in general, to be honest. That I do not mind either. Not at all. Sounds fun!

Also absolutely. It is more of a niche thing, but that's what makes it all the more fun, yes? : D Glad yer making what's fun to you.
I am not sure if I want to give the game a go yet, though. The tricky thing with updating games is that if you do want to keep up you end up replaying it way too often. *ponders* Still..

Lol, your status under the pic says "I LOVE MEAT" and you love orcs so I assumed the sort. In general, yes. There will be orcs in the game.
I throw in bugbears to the mix since they're unheard of many games, yet they're similar to their cousins.

If I have to suggest the demo, I would say 'no' but would I give the demo a try? Absolutely! The demo shows off a couple of things to come in the game such as the characters, the custom art and the game's growth system: the treasure grid. So, all in all, it's something to check out.
I guess the reason why I wouldn't suggest it in its current state is because a lot of the lore (especially the characters) will be rewritten and reworked. So what you might know about the story in the demo will likely get thrown out the window in the upcoming build. That's the thing that sucks about updating the game since you nailed it on the head, you'll be replaying lots of sections to see the new changes. So it's ultimately up to you if you want to try the game out.
I never heard of bugbears before, either. so color me curious!
(hahaha, oops.. indeed.. my honorary titles does denote such : D It was during the Review event themed MEAT. What can I say, I have a healthy appetite! ;))

I see! Well, I think I will give it a go then. The changing story and all may be a bit confusing replaying, but it also means I have more to read. Be back later~ (work, then fun). Thanks for replying : )
Aye, thank you Kylaila for checking the game out! If you got any questions about the game, the story or anything in general like who's the hottest guy in the game, let me know!
Well, who IS the hottest in the game? I just played a few minutes (there's a few typos, but since it's all gonna be rewritten anyway it cool), and I do like the general vibe for it. Nowhere near finishing the demo tho, i reckon. Just had my first battles.

Well, who IS the hottest in the game?

If I have to narrow it down to the top 3 based on preference, I'd say:

Azhal comes first because of that rock hard body, then Solomon since he's the evil but sexy king in a skull bikini (not kidding, that's what he's wearing) and lastly, I'd put Lesnar in 3rd if you're into the scaly types. I probably have spoiled a few things if you have not met Azhal or the king yet.

I wanted to design the characters to be bara and attractive for the orc and bear lovers.

There is a skit in the demo where Worik will comment about Azhal's appearance and if you pick the second option, all of the characters except for Lesnar will say that Azhal is kinda hot. It's just a matter of taste. I think most people would agree with Lesnar that Azhal is kinda ugly, which is why I think people would swoon over the Crystal King. He's bae material.
Hey there!

I've stumbled on your game as it came out randomly on the frontpage and I was really drawn to it. I still haven't finished the demo, will edit/post later after that but you have my full support! ^^ I really, really liked your character designs, very classy and pleasing to look at without them being too overboard. I'm hoping you're considering creating the rest of the graphics, because from what glimpses or your work can be seen (I'm presuming you also did some of the buildings and monsters) the game can be turn into something really unique on that aspect.

I also found really amusing (in a good way) you opted for the "bugbears" instead of something more recognizable, like orcs, for instance. Man, I've been a fan (not a pen-and-paper player, sadly) of most things D&D but always have problems interpreting the taxonomy of some of their monsters/races. This ain't a complain at all, just thought it would be fun to point that out, haha. It's like choosing a niche concept on an already niche project, but in my book that makes the whole thing stand out even more!

Hey kainworks, thanks for checking out the game! I'm really glad you're liking the art because I can get a little insecure to draw things with my big bugbears hands. =p Jokes aside, it was a challenge to design the bugbears to look attractive as possible since orcs and bugbears tend to be ugly. I think they're beautiful creatures.

I did design some of the enemies such as the boggarts and the tree houses in the demo. I can't say I'll design every single enemy or tile set but I'm going the extra mile to put some unique creations in the game like centaurs and spriggans.

I opted to use bugbears since they're unheard of compared to orcs. (And yes, there will be orcs in the game since this month's blog reveals the final party member, who is an orc lol) It's definitely a niche concept but it's a good thing because it easily stands out from the crowd. Not that I don't like humans or elves but it's already out there. I think it's time for the orcs and bugbears to get some action every now and then! They are actors after all.

I will point out that the demo is bit outdated but it does give you a preview on what the game looks like so far. The alpha release date is yet to be determined. If you have any questions about the game or the concept, leave them down below and I'll be happy to answer them! Feel free to subscribe if you haven't! I appreciate every bit of support I can get to make this game successful.
After a loooooooong time I finally finished the demo. So sorry for the wait, I really enjoyed my time with it. Always something to do, the enemies hit hard and you can make it work. The only thing balance wise is that magic feels incredibly weak compared to physical attacks. Even my dedicated staff-wielding mage protag deals more damage hitting them (unless you can use Weakness) - BUT they excel at healing, so it is still useful. So I have now a dedicated heal-slave so that I may never need to use items. That's how I roll.

Since you are working on it, do you want a rundown of typos and other minor things? I will see if I can whip up a review for you.

Also CLEARLY Worik is at the top of the list with the protag himself Bhazjadorr. Azhal I thought might turn into a secretly caring boi but it looks like that's a lie (and u-ugly?! nah, not to me, anyway). I am in it for the long term, and Solomon, I am sorry, but that doesnt work. He doesnt even hit all that hard. That, and Solomon makes me think of Solomon Odonkoh and it had me giggling when he introduced himself. Lesnar's just a reliable goodie, but I wouldn't count on him for the most fun of times.
Also, throw Rennic into a pit somewhere. He's important I know, but that's all. I am slowly warming up to him despite that tho. Fang's actually a cutie too, if u ask me.

.. did I just write that? I feel embarrassed.

Also yeah, bugbears I never came across before. I still don't really know what makes them their own thing compared to Orcs, but they friendly peeps here, so that's all I need to know. IS it the goblin ears? Now that I think about it..

Edit: I hope you are still working on this, cause it swell. Lemme know if you want a run-down of typos! I took screenshots of most of them.
