In a not so distant past, mysterious structures emerged within the Ember's Realm. Sages called them signs of Armageddon, but Adventurers called them Dungeons.

Dungeons were challenged for treasure, fame, and experience...

But as it turns out, most dungeon survivors gave up being an adventurer.
People speculated that it is because of the horrors in the dungeons. Others said that they made a deal to the entities to never bother the Dungeons again.

Among these adventurers, there is one who's different.
That adventurer only wants one thing-- and it is to conquer Dungeons, one at a time.


Ein - A knight in a chunk of steel armor who failed from his last Dungeon expedition. One of the rare occurrence of a dungeon survivor who wanted to try again.
Kondo - A mysterious samurai who lives at the Rivet Village. He wanted Ein to reclaim his honor, so he gave him the Learning Blade.
Bjork - A warrior who's survived Dungeons. He barks when he's angry.

  • Ember's Knight will focus on map puzzles, alongside with an action battle system.
  • Side-quests will be available.
  • Multiple weapons/tools for specific situations.
  • There is a possibility of a Dungeon Time Attack.

THE DUNGEON’S “ENGINE” UPDATE

So it’s time for a proper dev blog, am I right?

Finally, the dungeon’s “engine” is now completed, unless there will be more doodad ideas will be conceived. As of now, the skeletal framework (as I call it) of the dungeon is working the way I want it to be. For starters, the game will have this shroud effect on areas unexplored. This adds the sense of mystery and thrill to the dungeon. Initially, I have just envisioned the game to have this overlay of darkness around the player, but that was discarded. That kind of darkness felt static.


This is the First Floor of the First Dungeon. The colors will affect the vision of the player.

Another one is that lighting is given much more depth since there will be mechanics that will require the player to be in a particular side of light… if you know what I mean.

The pixel art and the gameplay look great. Even the story is intriguing. But the description and the writing is a goddamn mess.

deceius, dear, this is a solid looking game in bad need of an Englisher. Let me know if you want to pay me or provide alternate compensation to be that Englisher*.

* note for dummies: "Englisher" is not a real noun, I am using intentionally bad grammar in demonstration of my mastery of English, this is what is known as a "joke".

It's an idea years back, and yes, it's really ambitious. I'll just have to work really hard on this one!

To be honest, I admit that my knowledge in English is far from better, but believe me, the story is in my head, but I can't express it really well. All I have is the outline on how the story will progress, but putting it to the right words? I guess that this will be the greatest challenge that this project will ever face.

For now, I'll figure out on how to improve my skills when it comes to English-ing since I don't have the funds for a proper Englisher. I'm thankful for the offer, but for now, I'm afraid that I have to decline. Maybe, should this game conceive a "commercial" tendency, you'll be the first Englisher in my list.
