~The Seventh Warrior~ is a retro-themed, SNES-style RPG that tells the story of "Dark" the demonic crown prince of hell, who nearly conquered the world a thousand years ago but was able to be stopped and sealed away in the end. Now, a thousand years later, the demon prince returns after the seal is broken by fools who believed they could control him - how wrong they were.
Hellbent on revenge, Dark is once again on a mission to take over the world but things are very different nowadays; back then he had an army of thousands of demons, orcs and undead under his command. This time he must do things alone. Soon Dark realizes that the world he once brought death and destruction to has drastically changed; the big empires he fought against are gone, new lands were discovered and new wars are threatening the world. And so it seems our demon lord is only one of many threats that could plunge the world into chaos...

So let me show you some new stuff:
Stitch made some new cutin Artworks for Limit Attacks:
We now have the ability to add fog and other animations to the battle backgrounds:
Something I think is pretty cool is that you now can choose between 4 different menu theme styles which also change the style of dialogue boxes and the battle system HUD accordingly. Which do you like the most?:
Here are some new mapping and lighting screenshots for you:
As you can see, there will be much for you to explore :) We've also decided to add a few small extra locations for side content like side quests and stuff.
Stitch is currently working on the lighting of the the Sealing Forest:

CloseIf I remember right, this was in IGMC 2018, and I played the demo. The mapping was pretty good and there's good spriting, but at the time I played it the battle system and enemies were still placeholders. So this game has gone a long way since then. Looks great!

Yeah that's right but I recently took down that outdated demo :) Thank you! The game has got a makeover since then and countless things have changed ;)

I do have a few questions....
Firstly: Is that based on the german one? (I remember getting stuck pretty early in the german one in some canalization with a sound puzzle)
Secondly: Will we have more HP/MP than the enemies? Its always boring when you play as evil and you aren't a boss yourself... its just a gameplay element I never liked. Maybe your stats can depend on the path you choose? Maybe you end up alone and extremly powerful if you choose evil? Enemies could rely on potions and the like. (I think there are scripts for smart healing and adjust limits around for the RPG Maker vx ace.)
Thirdly: If it is based on the german one how closely will it follow it? I remember cheating a bit after getting stuck and that there are summons.... will they be only in battle summons or party members?

I'm a good friend of Rübe, who is the developer of the original and since he liked to see a remake but has no time or intention in ever developing a game again, we agreed that I do the remake since I was a big fan of the original myself and have enough experience to do it. I know the puzzle you talk about and I think I will write a walktrhough to the game when it's done so people can look at that when they get stuck.

I will make the player powerful but I also want to give the players some challenging battles. There will be an option to change the difficulty. I guess on "Easy" the player would be stronger than the enemies in general.

Well to the HP/MP thing... as i said potions and the like for enemies and spells that heal groups, if you get powerful as evil, would go long ways with balancing. To be fair i try to convince everyone that makes a game here where you can be really evil to do just that.... Yes but isn't it the point when you are an endboss to feel powerful? To have enemies do the high numbers while you have to combat their healing and annoying potions? Didn't you ever want to be in that position? I certainly wanted to be. But I agree that it would be hard to balance both storylines if you do that. I don't just want to be stronger and oneshotting bosses. I want to be in the shoes of the boss. The struggle bosses experience.... when you pull out 99 potions..... don't you ever wanted to do that? Though an option for difficult goes long ways.... Will the difficulty option have something to do with the puzzles? (I already dread the puzzles :D)
And no thank you for bringing this back to life again. Maybe I can complete it this time.

No I didnt have the console to play Breath of Fire 4 however i watched two lets plays of it and i know what you mean. It was a rather fun thing to watch and I saw that you are a fan of it from the screenshot on how you want the battle system to be. But Fou-Lu suffers from the high damage but weak HP thing. The infinity dragon only has 9999 HP too while he regains all that it is still low for a boss ;)
And I never said that Dark should start OP I was saying that it depends on the path he takes for a reason.... ;) Will he regain his old powers or will he gain friends? Would be a very interesting plot point if you ask me.... or inbetween. ;)

Hey there! Thanks for your interest in the project! There is no exact release date yet but I'm aiming to release "Demo 1.0" which will feature the first chapter of the game sometime this year. The development heavily depends on my budget because all the assets for this game aren't cheap at all and my budget is pretty low. But anyone who would like to help me out and speed up development can support me on patreon and get special rewards! ;)
