ETERNAL DREAM

A story of a boy "Rain" with his friend "Eric", who worked as herb farmers on the mountain side. They're not making much of a living as just farmers so they also sell their goods to a small village near them. Unfortunately, the merchant in charge of buying looks down on their goods and refuses to pay the goods' real worth.

A story of a tragic, sad life. A story about dreams, fate, and desire.

The game uses common RPG controls, like arrow keys to move, Z to confirm, X to cancel. It's using turn based battle system with utilizing agility to reduce wait time for taking action. Run Time Package is not included in this installation so you might want to install it separately if you want to test the game http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages

Green Slime nerfed, update 31/1/2020

One of the enemy in Eternal Dream, specifically Green Slime of Istaria Forest, has been nerfed due to afflicting poison most of the time and being too much of an annoyance to the players

This is the status before the nerf

and this is the status after the nerf

in conclusion, the poison effect upon normal damage has been reduced by 50%, from 60% to 10%

For anyone who are currently testing the game, let me know if there's anything needed to be changed, or if you find any bugs. I'd love to hear what you think of the game

this game doesn't come with it's rtp (run time package), so if you want to play it, you might want to install the rtp separately http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/download/additional/run-time-packages
Wow, this game looks so beautiful. Great job on the mapping.

a pleasure to hear that, the game is still under development and I'm looking forward to update the game soon
Hi Mister Final,
I downloaded your game as a possibly interested gamer, and ended as an enthousiastic addicted player! What a shame that that version of the game is only a demo... I'm in Istaria with Rain at level 10, Celia's quest is finished, I think I visited every place, but I wonder how to solve the "chant on the pillar" issue in the west cave and what to propose to the Guardian of River Pass...
I'm looking forward for the next release of that hard but promising game, with my congratulations for the excellent gameplay and wonderful mapping!

PS 1: as well blue as green slimes are horribly difficult in Istaria Forest, even at Rain's level 8, which is her max possible level at the end of Chapter 1. I needed serious grinding before being able to beat these monsters (Aura Stanee followed by Zero Shadow do wonders)!
PS 2: the speed mini-games in Istaria Forest are far to fast on my 64-byte PC running under Windows 10 to give the player a single chance to beat the game... Impossible to read the arrows pannel before it closes!
Too hard. Stuck at the second boss (the spider). It takes me about 10 minutes to defeat 1 group of regular spiders because I do very little damage to them. The boss revives the minions so I have no choice but to (try to) kill it first but I do so little damage (less than 20 per hit) that it is pretty much impossible. I dunno how much grinding I would need to do but it is way more than I think. I also don't have good healing, items heal 20% and the elf's heal gives about 90 which isnt enough against 3 enemies. It got so bad that I ended up having one guy stunned and the other person asleep so they proceeded to get about 6 turns in which they killed my party without me being able to do anything.

thank you for the feedback, the boss itself need you to raise your level to be able to pass through. What lv are you right now? if it's that hard I might consider to nerf the boss down (also once you defeated the boss, you will arrive in Eldant Kingdom)

Thank you for playing the game and I'm glad you enjoyed it. To get pass through riven pass you need to bring a chunk of gold that can be found on the map where you found celia (you'll find it on the upper part of the map), also I will consider to nerf the blue slimes and make the mini games slower, thank you for the feedback. As for the chant on the pillar, it's an unfinished part and will be updated soon
I have to apologize: I completely missed the path towards Istaria Fountain, despite the tip given by Celia., shame on me! The River Pass doesn't seem some more easy...
One minor request: could it be possible to set the save list to the last save when you start the game?
A more important request: could it be possible to set the position (row/front) in the formation? I found very frustrating to have Ryan cast Aura Stanee when all fiends attack Kiara the next turn...

Best wishes!

Formation is an interesting idea, but it may take some time to implement so that it can fit in the current mechanic, but I'll see what I can do with the save file. A hint from me: the boss in Riven Pass is difficult and you might need to grind to lv 13 or 15 to be able to get through
Hello Final,
Thank you for the hints: completely exploring Riven Pass was enough to reach level 15, and the boss was not a problem.
The maze of seasons is very tricky, with its confusing mechanics, but I eventually solved the problem (it take me a while to understand that the start of the maze was also its end and to pass the final step!).
Unfortunately, I met the same speed issue in the exiting vortex: the monster there is far too fast my PC (playing from the keybord) and it catches up invariably Rain.
So I quit, looking forward your next update...
Keep on the excellent work!

in order to get pass the ghost you need to press shift to run, also a pleasure to know you've progressed that far, you almost reached the end of the beta
But if that is there and press shift with arrows about 8-10 sec it jumping at keys helper at me :( and... you know.
Some games use AUTO run/walking system... (better?)
BUT How i get that keys helper not get so FAST is? or just get off it?

auto walking/run system sounds interesting, I assume some device can't handle the shift button without triggering keys-helper to pop out. It's probably the computer settings, but I will consider the auto run option.
