"Well now, how did these little morsels make it so far
under their own power? I think I'll keep my eye on them."

Ill Will is a dungeon crawler with carefully crafted, minimalist story elements and simplified overall design. The combat uses a turn-based structure with a heavy emphasis on elemental affinities, and a streamlined AI routine for enemies that helps curb outright stupid behavoir.

It is very firmly divided between gameplay and plot, with decently-sized sessions of both, rather than a more rapid alternation.

Update ( 7/31/2012) - Completion

I'm marking this as being the 31st instead of the 1st, since I've been uploading since "yesterday".

Ill Will is complete. You can finish the story, choose either a normal New Game Plus (basically starting over) or a Strong New Game Plus (keep Traces, learned skills, and level, and re-allocate stats). Either way, you'll have access to additional story scenes, additions to existing scenes, and a very special something.

I might have a prize for the first person to beat the optional NG+ content. Of course, I might not.

WHAT THIS IS ACTUALLY COMPLETED

WHAT

Expect a download and a review when I can get around to it.
Are the zombies supposed to attack right after using their huge attack boost spell (that is, in the same turn)? It seems... unfair. Especially since the tutorial battle uses them as an example when explaining how the guard command works (i.e. if you see them charging the attack, GUARD next turn when they actually strike).
Yay, we found our first bug!

e: whoa ninja'd

Easy fix, long and painful re-upload.
General Patch for those interested.

Good god, I wish I could just amend my file with this. My upload speed is atrocious.
There was a post here that wasn't about how hard it is to see a link to the thing I just said to do but now there isn't. Mysteries!
This will be the first VX game I've ever tried. I'm expecting GREAT things!

Edit: Also you posted this on my b-day <3.

I'm trying to update the link, but I keep timing out because I am an awful person.

Not a coincidence! =D
I have it at 47%! ;w;
My upload speed is atrocious too.
Okay, okay, hopefully that answers that! No more issues with infinite-turn Zombies.
I got killed in the tutorial fight because of the double attack zombie after downloading the game.
There was already a patch and the download fix for that.
Initial impressions are definitely favoring GREAT things. Liking the ambience very much. Bugs so far:

- After the third in-game cutscene, you can access the menu and pre-maturely equip skills. Also Aaron (I think his name is Aaron. Blonde guy with green coat) was dead (as in 0 hp).
- First tutorial fight playing under normal. The zombie used its special ability 5 times in a row, me guarding each time. Then we duked it out with fisticuffs and he won :(. Oh, all the skills I had pre-maturely equipped on Will had become unequipped. :(

I already downloaded the most recent version and that's when I encountered the problem.

edit : Sorry I didn't know there was a separate patch download.
No, you didn't. In the most recent version (which is now the main download), Zombies have a wholly new attack pattern.

Did you... re-download? Again? Are they Strength Zone Zombies or the new iteration?

Ugh this is all such a mess.

I re-downloaded after this post and yeah the first zombie still cast strength zone and hits in the same turn.

Yeah, it was Strength Zone zombies. Just one. I downloaded the game, then the patch. For me, the zombie didn't attack immediately after casting strength zone.
One last goddamn download update.

This games not bad, gotten to the lava area of the game. There was a typo or more likely cut off for the word "take" in the cutscene after that statue guy.

Two cutscenes in Infernio (the volcano place) that take place in the maps to the left of the main hub have the characters portraits switched around during dialogue: Jo has Ethan's face, Aaron has Jo's, France Aaron's, and Ethan looks like France. Pretty confusing. I haven't gotten any farther yet, but you might want to make sure this doesn't happen somewhere else down (up?) the road too.

The Loki cutscenes didn't have this problem, I think. Then again, maybe his FABULOUSNESS just prevented me from noticing.

Edit: It looks like this happens in every single one of those little snippets you get when exploring, but not during the important story sequences.
