Dialogue reduction is... staggering!

As of a few short hours ago, you could consider me finished with the first-half of this game's rewrite. A lot of events go down within a relatively short amount of time in the beginning, and since I've cleared a majority of those out of the way, that only leaves the second-half of the game to deal with.

From what I've done so far... I have to say that I'm REALLY surprised at how much unnecessary dialogue plagued the first release. Not only that, but the story was all over the place with some of it even being nonsensical. Events now have at least a 50% dialogue reduction, and conversations usually get right to the point without dragging things on-and-on like they did in the past. Hopefully if I can keep things running this smoothly, I'll be able to attract back those that I'd lost to the original train-wreck.

Hopefully when I'm finished, Eternal Paradise will feel like a much more solid and polished RPG than its previous incarnation.

It takes a lot of drive and self-awareness to do something like this. I applaud you.

Being truly critical of ones' own work is incredibly difficult. It does help, though, to have the distance of time between you and what you're reviewing... It's especially strange whenever I do a piece of art, or make a major graphical update to my game, and try to look at it when it's finished. As soon as I wait two days, or show it to someone ELSE to be judged, I'm suddenly able to pick out all the flaws... XD or at least truly hear the feedback.

So yes, A+ work!
Guess I better start freeing up some time for at least a NG+++.
Thanks! And yeah, it takes a bit of motivation to go back through something you've already made and re-work it again, if not for the simple fact that I'm sick of playing through it. Ha ha ha. Then again, Scaryman has probably played through EP more than myself, which is a tad scary if you think about it. o.O

But yeah, I hope that during its second release people will find it MUCH better. I didn't get too many complaints about the battles and what-not however, so I'm not changing them too much.
What? I heard the game was impossible! I've never beaten it before in my life. o_O;
