This is an excellent map! My only problem is the autotile used for the path, because it is ugly as sin. :D Otherwise, great.

well I still need that path, but I could vary it up a bit and not make it so square at the edges. As if sand has covered parts of the path? What would you suggest? I need a path of 'some' sort, but how to make it more interesting?

Oh no, I didn't there was anything wrong with the path (it is a little too square, but not really), I just meant the autotile is ugly. There are other mac path tiles on other chips, I'd pull one of those and sand-up the edges to make it make sense in the desert. Shouldn't be too hard.

I agree, maybe you could just edit the chip set so that it is the road from a different set? Or you (or I) could use gimp to create a darker sand dirt road and just replace the strange one. What is that road made of, anyway?

Anyway, the town is gorgeous. I especially love how you can get onto the roofs of some of the houses.
