In Defense of The New Disciples

There has been some interesting criticism of this show and its humor, and I decided that I would like to take the time to sit down and hammer out the facts, while shedding light upon the nature of the jokes and the reasons or messages behind each individual scene.
The New Disciples, as a group, represents the Christian religion, its leaders, its ideals and ideas. By doing so, my aim was to emphasize Christianity’s history of intolerance, and its confusion over the evolution of social norms through the various conflicts and situations highlighted in each episode. We’re not meant to agree with their point of views. The comedic aspect lies in the irony of such misguidance, and the ridiculousness of what the characters represent as a whole.
If you don’t know the bible very well, you aren’t going to understand lots of the flashbacks and references. I have written a guide to understanding them on the game page to try and prove that we’re not just pulling these seemingly random pieces out of our asses. Each scene has a specific purpose to satirize Christianity, political agendas, social conflicts, and religious views as a whole.
Whether you think it's funny or not, it really sucks for me to keep hearing that it's all random crap that has nothing to do with commenting on social problems and religious topics. I will write about EVERY SCENE in defense of this work, at least so that people will stfu about it on the forums. There are some who have tried to get this project kicked off the site for being nothing but offensive or stupid. I assure you, it stands for something whether you want to hear it or not.
Episode 1's commentary chapter is now available. I would urge everyone to at least take a peak.

"Then we get the first Judas reference. Reincarnated as Richard Simmons, it should basically speak for itself as his own personal hell."
The discussion of the word “cuntâ€, as much as you might not want to believe, also has meaning. Here, I'm bringing to light the absurdities of language, while questioning its impact when used in derogatory ways. Just how hurtful can language be? I'm not actually attempting to answer this question, even though I do have my own take on it. I want the audience to be able to reflect on it themselves and come up with their own opinions. It really is the nastiest sounding word I could come up with, even if some people don't agree that it's the most offensive.I can only imagine how terribly this scene plays out in-game
The defense actually makes the game more horrible. Word of advice: If you wish to blaspheme, don't rationalize or apologize when you blaspheme.

Your game is still garbage.
it's pretty obvious that universally nobody cares about this stupid game in the first place.

no there isn't.
you aren't even remotely funny.
I will obviously not play this, nor read any other page on this gameprofile. I mean, 'gaybies?' Come on.
Anyways.
I guess I have a friend who could like it... He'd play it while listening to his well-loved metallica (or whatever) CD and eating shit food. This game really reminds me of his attempts to RPGmaking. (and his stupid MIDI self-called "8 bit" remix of Lady gaga ¬¬")
But not me. Thanks, anyways.

how to do a speedrun of the new disciples:
open in editor, hold down shift, hammer space bar as FAST AS POSSIBLE

The main thing that pisses me off about The New Disciples is what you 'could have done with the concept.
-Does Jesus crash Satan's birthday party and take a crap in the punch bowl "cuz he's the fucking Messiah, bitches"?
-Get repeatedly killed in random hilarious ways (gunned down by gangsters, hit by train or blown up terrorists) only to come back three days later like nothing happened?
-Regularly drop by Buddha's Smoke Shop and smoke a bowl with random historical figures?
-Send the New Disciples out to assassin a list of Anti-Christ suspects? (Justin Bieber, Brett Favre, the Slap Chop Guy...)
Nope instead we get a two hour conversation about Ann Coulter's Tits. Which would have been funny if it wasn't exactly what we were expecting.
P.S. You need to seriously deepen your knowledge of politics and history. I understand that you're making fun of shallow hypocritical fucktards just be very fucking careful you don't become one yourself.

No, but Charles Manson; that'd be both humorous and fitting for the content of this "game".
Actually, I'm just full of shit.
Also, peak and stfu.
i think it would be weird to stand on a couch with my friend and talk about having sex with marilyn manson (im crono)
it's pretty obvious that universally nobody cares about this stupid game in the first place.
Still, 124 downloads but yeah, I'm not sure why anyone would want to spend time to make a game about this theme but hey, as long as it's not my time, whatever floats his boat.
If you need to apologize and to explain everything to everyone then maybe you're not doing a very good job at it, don't you think?
Also not sure why you're trying to treat your games as if they were TV shows, what I'm saying is; if it's a sort of TV show you want to make it into then why exactly RPG Maker?
Note that having meanings behind certain events does not mean it's automatically good.

Wow, so many comments lol
It was pretty much the only thing easy enough for me to use. We're thinking about another form of media eventually, but everything I can think of would just take too long.
lol some of you guys sound angry.
