Super RMN Bros 2 is the sequel to the community event, Super RMN Bros. where everybody could make Mario levels and have them all placed into one single game. The weapon of choice? Super Mario Brothers X v1.3, a (now dead) PC game made to create and play Mario style levels with a mix between Mario Brothers 3 and Super Mario World physics with enemies and obstacles spanning Mario 1 to Super Mario World!

What You Need to Play Super RMN Bros 2
You need the creation tool used to make RMN Bros 2 to play it: Super Mario Brothers X v1.3 available here! Run the installer, download and place Super RMN Bros 2 into the SMBX "Worlds" folder, run SMBX and play Super RMN Bros 2!

Super RMN Bros 2 Officially Completed!

It's done and out! This is, barring any dumb bugs I missed, the final version of the game. No updated levels, no new submissions, just finished. If you downloaded the game prior to this please redownload and restart as some world map changes will fuck up your save file.

So please, download and enjoy!

Sorry for taking so freaking long everybody, I won't be in charge of any future Super RMN Bros. because I am doing a terrible job of it. I'll leave it to you guys to decide how to carry on from here.

Someone should review this game, level by level, for great makerscore awesomeness.

I'd love to, but the unfortunate thing about being a developer is that I can't review my own game! ;A;

Plus, I'm busy as hell.
Awesome, can't wait to rip through this!
Congratulations on a job welldone
:D
I leave for five days and I get four pages of notifications on this!
That's how you know it actually got finished!
At the start of the World 4 water castle, you can enter an invisible door on top of the left block that leads directly to the end of the next section. Was this intentional or is this a relic from playtesting?

Also, there are so many active objects in the last section of that castle (including the boss) that I can't actually play it past this point. Thought I'd point that out.

Can't play it? Does it lag too much from there onward?

Also, that door does sound like something left over from playtesting.
Oh god if Aquatic Fortress causes lag I can't imagine what Eversion Aversion is going to do

I dunno. Eversion Aversion actually isn't that complicated of a level. It has lots of layers and events, but they're never all going at once, and it doesn't have any moving sections at all. Then again, my new Compé can handle SMBX well enough that it's hard to tell what would make other machines lag!
Aquatic Fortress isn't that complicated either. You kill a boss, layers move for some time then stop and more bosses appear. If that's all it takes to lag out, well, it is SMBX I guess
If that's the version I helped with, that invisible door on a block sounds like my work u.u oops

I think maybe what makes it lag is the amount of NPC objects(not blocks) on a single map. Even if they are not moving, and probably even if they were invisible too, if you have too many it slows down. I never tested this, I'm just speaking from experience because I used to make levels on a really slow PC and it seemed like that was the cause. I wonder if turning off a layer even matters, it might still count as an event on the map and cause lag. Making multiple small maps might reduce lag, instead of having one huge map 1200 tiles long. But it's just a guess.

What works for me to make it run at full speed is when you start up SMBX check the box for disable sound. That will usually do it. At least it's playable.

But that's what does it, as far as I know. It's all the moving junk that makes things lag. It's especially bad in Galaxy Slide after you near the end. There are two walls encroaching on a pipe you're landing in that lag so much, it causes the level to momentarily freeze for me.
In my experience, the lags seem to occur as more objects get onto the screen. Fireballing the bubbled goombas to death speeds it up a bit but I had to blindly chuck fireballs over and over until I could actually swim through the shifting part.

The boss lagged fatally almost immediately.

Odd how you experience lag in Aquatic Fortress. Then again, I couldn't really tell because I have a high-end computer.
I would, but I'd give it a good review and no one would agree with that.

Yeah, I'd like to see a review - as long as it's fair and impartial. Any book will fall under the glaring eyes of a hostile reader.
I'd prefer an LP, if someone wants to do it...
