The only problem with the transition is that the caves use black as their roof tile and the cubby, for whatever reason, uses a single line of autotile as it's roof tile. Why not just have to topped with black, like the caves?

I agree. There's also a transparency error in your auto-tile - those "dots" of black along the border are distracting and should be filled in.

Do you think a thinner wall topper would be better? Just having the cave topping the walls is a bit odd looking.

If that room is underneath the foundation of a building or something, sure! Otherwise, just make it have cave-walls.

Like totally cave walls or just the toppers?
totally cave walls, unless you want to throw up a comparison shot of just toppers vs. full cave wall
Ok, swapped it out with three options.
If I went totally cave walls I'd probably have to make more curves and such in the room to take away the boxy look.

Just the toppers actually looks fine! Otherwise, full-cave. I wouldn't worry about adding too many curves because it's obviously been 'carved into' the cave or something ;) what with the tile floors and beds..

cool, thank you, I thought the cave toppers would be lame, but seeing them in effect they look better than the other options
