The information below is for testers, but anyone with bug reports, suggestions, feature requests, etc is of course welcome to post here.

Thanks for offering to help test the game. I hope you enjoy playing it despite it's imperfect state! I'm eager to hear feedback and criticism on pretty much every aspect of the game, but especially the following:

1. Gameplay
I think this is the most important thing, because if the core gameplay isn't fun who will care that the characters can be customized? Testers, please play the game and tell me honestly what you think. What aspects are fun and what aspects could be more fun? How is the difficulty? What things would you do to improve it? Of course please report any bugs you encounter.

2. Customization
Please mess around with the customization features; there's bound to be plenty of bugs and issues I haven't considered. You don't need to create content you would ever share with others. Just play around and see if you can do the things you're supposed to be able to do. Try creating a character or two and writing a little bit of story for her. Again, what you write doesn't have to be anything serious, but see if things really work.

3. Story & writing
Please give me constructive criticism on the story and the writing for the built-in characters. What do you think of the characters? If there are bits that you think should be rewritten for any reason, please don't hesitate to tell me. I realize some of the story (including the premise) may be corny, so maybe you have suggestions on how it could be better? Of course also report any bad spelling or typos or anything else that's off.

4. Documentation
Is the help file which explains how to do all the customization stuff easy to read and easy to understand? Please tell me if any parts aren't clear. I want the customization process to be easy and fun as much as possible.

5. Any other suggestions you have!
Don't hold back. If you have something to say which could help me improve the game I want to hear it.

Well it seems that nobody yet has gotten a good ending (a non-generic ending). This tells me that it might be too difficult or maybe unfair?

A good ending requires:
1. The character is in a state of Love or Lovesick
2. You have completed her story route

Everyone seems to be doing well with the first requirement.
The second requirement is tricky because you have to make some correct choices along the way AND some of those choices require that you pass an attribute check. Attribute checks are in multiples of 10; either 20, 30, 40, or 50. (So if you get an attribute up to 50, you'll pass any checks involving it in story events)

I suppose the problem is that it's not clear what attribute checks are coming up for a given character. Also, with the longer stories, you might simply be running out of time to complete them.

For the next release I'm going to make it a little easier to pass attribute checks by making it easier to raise attributes. I might also add a means of getting in-game hints for characters.

I didn't intend to put out a new release so soon, but there really have been a sleugh of bug reports and changes in the last two days. Testers, please grab the new release (v0.4).

I should have mentioned this earlier but if you encounter a serious bug I'd be greatly appreciative if you can send me a save file prior to the bug's occurrence. The game autosaves each day during the status screen where you can spend orbs so you can use that file. There are a few bugs that have been reported now which I've not able to reproduce and seeing the save file could help me out a ton.

I can see myself tweaking this game and adding new features for awhile to come, or for as long as people are interested in it, but I'll stop calling it a beta when we get to the point where any new releases will not render saves and records incompatible. There are still a few changes I'm considering that could possibly do that.

Here's some of the ideas for new features in consideration:
- "mental notes" about a character can be reviewed
- generic event for walking to school together
- support for BxB (only if there is interest)
- support for dual character endings
- Mouse support
- additional mini-games

The top two of those will likely make it into the game in the near future.

The new version, among other things, finally fixes the "script is hanging" error which people with slow computer sometimes encounter after the ending before or during the credits roll. Well, I think I fixed it. If anyone still gets that error at the end of the game, please let me know! I don't have any older computers around the house with which to test it on.

Right after the name input should be "My Room" (or whatever it's called) with a choice of things to do. If the bitmap that it's failing to create is the background for "My Room", that could be the game's fault, rather than your computer's. I'm not sure why the program couldn't find it, though. It should, in theory, already be somewhere in "Game.rgssad".

Unless the bitmap that it's trying to create is a temporary file that it creates during school phase? That's a totally different critter, though, as that would mean that the error message wouldn't happen "right after" the character's name input.
Thanks for reporting that. Try downloading this file, replace the one in the game's main directory with it, and let me know if it works.
@flowerthief Thanks for the file but sadly it didnt work :(
Okay, can you try this one for me? The game will hopefully print out a message when it quits. Please tell me what it says.
Error: Please report to flowerthief that width parameter for location name is 32 for name 'Font'
It was 'Front' instead of 'Font' right?
Okay, try this small test program and tell me what message you get. It's increasingly looking like there's nothing wrong with my code but something subtle going on in the RGSS base classes.
Yeah sorry my mistake it was "Front"
Ok when I start I get this message:

Width of string 'Front' is 58
No errors.Exiting...
Aha! Forget what I said about there being anything weird with the RGSS. You must have been subconsciously trying to tip me off when you said "font" because this is a font issue! I should have thought of that earlier just from the fact that it works for other users but not for you.

Okay, try this one. If you get an error telling you a font is missing, check to see if you have it installed. The game only requires basic fonts that come on all versions of Windows but maybe they got deleted somehow? You need Arial, Verdana, and Tahoma at the least.
Ok thank you very much its working now!
My verdana fonts were not installed I dont know why
Its working now! Great Game! :)

Currently uploading a dummy copy of Uchioniko onto the other site to see if I still get an error, and if so, how well the error fix works.

*Edit: The bad news is that I was timed out on both the "normal' upload site and the "secret" site. The good news is that the "secret" site took a bit longer to time out, as to give the impression that it uploaded more before timing out. I may attempt to upload a dummy of either 21 Ways, Junko, or both to expand the parameters of this alternate site testing thing I'm doing.

I made an attempt to upload "21_ways_dummy.zip" on both the normal upload site and the alternate upload site. On "normal", I got the expected error of having the file too big and/or not being an appropriate type. With "alternate mode", I'm getting pretty much the same error.

For experimentation purposes, I ran through "junko_dummy.zip". "Normal mode" gave me the expected error (File size too big and/or not being an appropriate type). "Alternate mode", I'm getting the same error.

This is most particular. Neither of those files were over the limit of 10 MB. Unless the 10 MB limit is somehow a reference to the total space that can be uploaded by "outside sources" rather than by the site administrator (flowerthief)? Supposing that is the case, Masako took up about 4.9 MB. That would leave 5.1 MB for 21 Ways. As she only takes up 4.1 MB, and dude797's upload of 21 Ways was the first to encounter problems, I think that pretty much kills that theory. Damn it, what did the upload of Masako do right that all the others do wrong!? Actually, I've a funny feeling that, I should upload a dummy copy of Masako, I'd get the error. I might yet make an attempt!

*Edit: Just finished a test upload with "masako_dummy.zip". It was a no-go in both "normal mode" and "alternate mode".
Nah, the 10MB limit is for a single file. The secret uploader should work if the problem you were having with the regular uploader was due to file type. Both dude797 and nekochi were able to upload their files using the secret uploader because of that. But if the problem you're having is a timeout, then neither uploader will work. I think the timeout can become a problem well before you reach the 10MB limit. Does it seem like 30 seconds go by before it fails?

With Uchioniko, I never got an error message from either site, nor did it display any indication that it was successfully uploaded either. I presume that it just timed out both times. I'm not sure how long it took, but it felt like a full minute passed for the normal site, and the secret site might have taken maybe a minute and a half. However, Uchioniko is amazingly close to the stated 10 MB limit. Maybe the actual cut-off is more like 9 or 8 MB?

With all the others I attempted, I got an error message with both the normal site and the secret site. Since I was uploading ZIP files, I think we can preclude file type issues. As for how long it took to get the error, I don't think it took 30 seconds. I wasn't really paying much attention to that detail, sadly.

I know you don't have a computer at the moment, but I do want you to be aware of a little snag I've run across.

I'm trying to test STORY 1. The particular story I want to test has has Masako, Aoi, and introduces a new character. Here's the information form Story Test for Masako:

masako/masako_story.txt

Story 1
Place = Front B
INTRODUCE = 12 (Masako)
PRIORITY = High
CONDITION = DAY 3
Characters in this story: ID = 10 (Masako)
Number of branches: 0
Stories with a header that contains a CONDITION involving this story:

Aoi uses Junko's story. For Junko's STORY 1, Story Test brought up:

junko/junko_stories.txt

Story 1
PLACE = Grounds
INTRODUCE = 10 (Junko)
PRIORITY = Medium
Characters in this story: ID = 9 (Junko)
Number of branches: 3
Stories with a header that contains a CONDITION involving this story: 2

As if that wasn't weird enough, I get an error rather than get the STORY 1 information for the new character:

Script 'Story test Console' line 78: TypeError occured
no implicit conversion from nil to integer

I must assume that something in my new character's story file is messing things up. I used the Notepad++ route, but as far as I can tell, there's nothing technically wrong with the code. However, since we want to eventually get to the bottom of this, here's what I got so far for the story file. Forgive the hide tag:

INTRODUCE = 19
PLACE = Children's Park

After looking into it and testing I found out the problem with your Joruri script!:D

Apparently you have to put PLACE before INTRODUCE. So if you switch those 2 lines around, it should work.

Edit: I'm not sure why it's like this though, because the 21 story has INTRODUCE before PLACE and that one does pass the story-test-mode

Edit2: The ID mentioned at the INTRODUCE lines never seem to match the real ID of the character. I checked the custom content and they're all like that. The built-in character seem to be different, their introduce ID seems to match their real one.

Edit3: And the reason why you have this issue and 21 and other stories don't have it is......the PLACE. It seems to give this error if the PLACE is in the city, so (Train, Library...Children's Park...Club..etc) but it doesn't give an error if the intro happens in the school.

Might have to put this in the manual.

Thanks for that, Turtle. That worked perfectly. Out of curiosity, I looked up the INTRODUCE stories for 21, Masako, all of Uchioniko, Junko, and Emiko to see what was happening with them. As it happens, 21, Mayu, and Izumi have INTRODUCE before PLACE.

It could be that the order of PLACE and INTRODUCE might only matter for characters where "ENCOUNTERS = OFF" in the character profile. Of course, that's not to say that "City Stories" in general can't have this oddity. However, it might just be best to say that PLACE comes before INTRODUCE.
I'm back in business now :)

Thanks Turtle and Marrend for that. Both problems should be fixed in this version.
I love the game really fun, more so with the depressing girl. :) and Junko which her story had more depth making it awesome. But Her content and 21 Way's the only two that will work I downloaded the others but they tell me somethingsomething unfriendly tachie isn't there. How do I fix this :( if you could tell me I'd really appreciate it. You can email me if you want at Dirtroadanthem1991@yahoo.com (And I don't care that people know this email it's for gaming info and online games so yeaaa). But yes I'd love the help please
Woah, now. There are girls in the game who are depressing? And since when is that a good quality?

Or, quite possibly, you meant depressed, and, indirectly, Akari(*hug*), which intent I am aware of, and I'm just messing with you on purpose. (It's the latter.)

Anyways, welcome to the Heartache Circle of RMN!:) The lack of certain tachies never were a problem before. Did you get an error message or just checked the tachie folder? And which custom content pack are you referring to?
Oh good someone is still on this page. Well I added all the tachie things and got this, and I get this for most of the DLC's I add. Yuu, Masako, and the rest. Only Junko's and 21's work without this error popping up. And yes I was referring to Akari :) (favorite girl just want to hug her)
