The information below is for testers, but anyone with bug reports, suggestions, feature requests, etc is of course welcome to post here.

Thanks for offering to help test the game. I hope you enjoy playing it despite it's imperfect state! I'm eager to hear feedback and criticism on pretty much every aspect of the game, but especially the following:

1. Gameplay
I think this is the most important thing, because if the core gameplay isn't fun who will care that the characters can be customized? Testers, please play the game and tell me honestly what you think. What aspects are fun and what aspects could be more fun? How is the difficulty? What things would you do to improve it? Of course please report any bugs you encounter.

2. Customization
Please mess around with the customization features; there's bound to be plenty of bugs and issues I haven't considered. You don't need to create content you would ever share with others. Just play around and see if you can do the things you're supposed to be able to do. Try creating a character or two and writing a little bit of story for her. Again, what you write doesn't have to be anything serious, but see if things really work.

3. Story & writing
Please give me constructive criticism on the story and the writing for the built-in characters. What do you think of the characters? If there are bits that you think should be rewritten for any reason, please don't hesitate to tell me. I realize some of the story (including the premise) may be corny, so maybe you have suggestions on how it could be better? Of course also report any bad spelling or typos or anything else that's off.

4. Documentation
Is the help file which explains how to do all the customization stuff easy to read and easy to understand? Please tell me if any parts aren't clear. I want the customization process to be easy and fun as much as possible.

5. Any other suggestions you have!
Don't hold back. If you have something to say which could help me improve the game I want to hear it.

Well it seems that nobody yet has gotten a good ending (a non-generic ending). This tells me that it might be too difficult or maybe unfair?

A good ending requires:
1. The character is in a state of Love or Lovesick
2. You have completed her story route

Everyone seems to be doing well with the first requirement.
The second requirement is tricky because you have to make some correct choices along the way AND some of those choices require that you pass an attribute check. Attribute checks are in multiples of 10; either 20, 30, 40, or 50. (So if you get an attribute up to 50, you'll pass any checks involving it in story events)

I suppose the problem is that it's not clear what attribute checks are coming up for a given character. Also, with the longer stories, you might simply be running out of time to complete them.

For the next release I'm going to make it a little easier to pass attribute checks by making it easier to raise attributes. I might also add a means of getting in-game hints for characters.

I didn't intend to put out a new release so soon, but there really have been a sleugh of bug reports and changes in the last two days. Testers, please grab the new release (v0.4).

I should have mentioned this earlier but if you encounter a serious bug I'd be greatly appreciative if you can send me a save file prior to the bug's occurrence. The game autosaves each day during the status screen where you can spend orbs so you can use that file. There are a few bugs that have been reported now which I've not able to reproduce and seeing the save file could help me out a ton.

I can see myself tweaking this game and adding new features for awhile to come, or for as long as people are interested in it, but I'll stop calling it a beta when we get to the point where any new releases will not render saves and records incompatible. There are still a few changes I'm considering that could possibly do that.

Here's some of the ideas for new features in consideration:
- "mental notes" about a character can be reviewed
- generic event for walking to school together
- support for BxB (only if there is interest)
- support for dual character endings
- Mouse support
- additional mini-games

The top two of those will likely make it into the game in the near future.

The new version, among other things, finally fixes the "script is hanging" error which people with slow computer sometimes encounter after the ending before or during the credits roll. Well, I think I fixed it. If anyone still gets that error at the end of the game, please let me know! I don't have any older computers around the house with which to test it on.

I am so lost right now.. so the fix where does that go and how does that fix all the DLC's aside from Yuu's and no I won't adopt it my talent is editing videos and story ideas not editing characters.

Edit: Nevermind figured it out

So, not getting a warning about needing Junko was supposed to happen? I find that highly unlikely, but whatever. Not going to argue the point.

Yuu does not work at all in version 2.3, and neither does Fran, apparently. Fran is one thing, as that's a relatively underdeveloped character, it's author knows about the problem, and is willing to fix it. With Yuu, we have no idea where KimotoDragoon is.

As for the Joruri fix, it's a replacement effect. If you're having problems with her, you copy the contents of the fix (It's now a link on the finished content thread), and paste it into "joruri_story.txt".

My apologies if we got over your head with our banter.

*Edit: Ninja edits continue to make me look stupid.
well I put in the Joruri fix and got a new error and Junko worked fine in the very beginning. 21 and Junko were the only one's that worked I said.

...And we're right back to where we started. Yummy!

Dozen's fix for Joruri doesn't mess with Joruri's profile, so applying the fix would not have removed this issue. Saying that, I'm uncertain what will, especially if all the files are where they are supposed to be.

Damn, I think we're missing something from this puzzle, but I'm not sure what!

And i have the feeling even after Joruri is fixed another issue may arise...
Try applying this fix for Yuu: (copy and pasted from the website's comments page)

It's not your fault. A few changes are needed to make that file work. Change the condition in Story 15 to:
CONDITION = 14 DONE AND 12 DONE

Change the condition in Story 16 to:
CONDITION = 14 DONE AND 15 DONE

And remove the period from the end of the AFFECTION DOWN line that has a period.

There might be a similar thing going on with Fran since you get the same error. The syntax was technically incorrect, but older versions of the game were able to run it anyway (before I updated the code for logical expressions).

As for the others, there do seem to be problems with v2.3. Unfortunately, I am away from my computer for the remainder of the year and thus not in a position to troubleshoot, let alone fix anything.

We need to figure out why things are working for Dozen but not for Marrend and Enderstar. I recommend taking Dozen's suggestion and trying to install one package at a time. Dozen, can you walk them through what you did step by step to get things installed and working?

Marrend, if you run again into that problem where the game gets hosed, try deleting your records file. I think that should save you the trouble of having to reinstall.

I did do as Dozen said I put each one in one at a time Junko's worked then adding Masako failed.

I cannot account for the errors that where thrown at me during my initial testing. What I can say is, at this moment, the game gets to the title screen. I've got everyone except Yuu and Fran as active content. Should I try to removing someone, and get that error message, I'll try removing the records file to see how that works.

I'm not worried about Fran not working at this moment. I'm sure, once I get back to writing for her, she'll have a clean bill of health. Or, at least, cause no error messages!
But question I keep hearing that 2.3 doesn't work and the old one didn't have a problem can't you just simply put the old verison of the game up or was it a huge difference?

Outside of needing to modify some (one?) of Junko's stories to have a different "Place", and possibly Fran having that odd error, I don't recall many errors when I ran version 2.0. I still have version 2.0, and could feasibly upload it into my locker, if you really think it would help. I don't know if I could do that all today, though, as my internet speed is |crap| ("the absolute value of crap"), and the day is waning.
I see it was just a suggestion was all, well guess I could wait for a bit longer for whatever this issue is to be fixed. :( Downer though cause I was hoping for another in depth story like Junko's
There are bugs in v2.3, but I'm not certain they are related to the problem you are having, Enderstar. I mean, there has to be an explanation for why two people can install content for the same version of the game and one has it work and the other doesn't. (Anyway, there were bugs in v2.0, too; v2.3 fixed some of them)

I did do as Dozen said I put each one in one at a time Junko's worked then adding Masako failed.

Iirc the install procedure is actually different for Junko than it is for Masako. For Masako you can just extract to the game's main directory and everything should go in the right place (Masako's author, Marrend, arranged things in a nice way that makes it easy on the end user). For Junko, Yuu, and 21 Ways iirc you need to move files around a bit.

Perhaps Dozen would be willing to upload a zip of the game which includes all content pre-packaged with all files in the proper places and ready to go, including fixes applied for content that needs fixes. In fact, I wouldn't object to such a link being added to the Finished Content page.

Oh.. that would most likely be easier if he did it.. so then I'd know everything works right... why didn't we think of that sooner? (Now feels very stupid)
Of course, I can do that. Wait a sec. Sorry for the delay, your conversation was in the middle of the night in Eastern Europe.
I guessed as much I'm in the USA, but it tells me what time it is there. 6:23am when you posted
No, that's Western European time. It was 8:23 at my place.
Ok, while we wait for the upload, we'll have to extablish: Make sure there is no custom content in your game. At all. It'd be for the best if you used a freshly installed version of the game. The fix includes all custom content that is in working condition(it should, at least. If you get any messages in-game, tell me ASAP.), you don't need to install anything else.

Clear? Good. Here's the link.
Okay so let me make sure I got this right... I just copy everything into one folder or do the separate folders go outside the Built in folder

Edit: Saw the tachie of a chick with a bat and I got scared xD I was like damn this bitch looks like she's going to fuck me up o.o
