Everlong is a FREE amateur fantasy game designed to capture the charm and cliche of the classic SNES JRPG. New Version 3.35

The downloads section has been updated with a new full version and patch. Mostly bug fixes, but the controller support is sweet for those of us using Xbox controllers with Windows (thanks to PepsiOtaku for that plugin). Here's the update notes:

Everlong v3.35 (2022.01.16):

Added controller / gamepad support with a DynRPG plugin
Shinryu skill Atomic Breath no longer scales with physical attack power; resulted in extreme damage when auto balance mode toggled ON
Restored conditions removal effect for certain healing skills on their final tier: Succor, Celerity, Chakra
Added message when recruiting Miyagi to explain EXP and Encounter scaling turns off
The first Altair battle no longer results in an instant victory if monster scaling is active; an HP reference was missing for this monster in the scaling code
Attempted to address boss battles being unintentionally skipped outside Story Mode if the control switch was somehow otherwise toggled
Attempted to restore possibly corrupted database value for Virtuoso items that prevented the player from equipping them
Corrected MAG+ value for Mystic Pendant accessory
Siren activated battle in Cerulean Silex and Ignis Castrum against Naga Archer no longer crashes due to null event page references
Keen Skill Scroll Blink now shows correct skill reference when queried with SHIFT

Hi.
Whats best, if i choose EXP on rate adjust and Default on monster scale ? For the first time i play this game. You have done so much great work on this game that it should be commercial if it was possible.
I really doesn`t find any answer anywhere, but surely missed them.
EDIT:i want a real challenge, the battles should be hard but fair/not frustrating

I would just leave the default options for difficulty and scaling. Then, if you find it's too hard, too easy, or not enough power leveling, change the settings as you play. You can adjust options at any time!
Hi again.
Maybe it`s to early in the game to find Master Myagi, but in the ,maybe old walkthrough it is about now and in Dale but on the maps i could find the town. But it seems renamed? Where can i find him? He seems important.
EDIT:I had wrong, was reading about all the fixes and read abot Myagi. Sorry.
I know that`s not possible now maybe, but this should really be commercial with some updated graphic. But too much and big i think, for you to do that.
EDIT:sorry for the double post, i missed that at first.Tell me what to change if it`s not OK.
Hi.
Great game, you have put down so much work in this that it`s incredible.
But bugs and errors can popup sometimes in every game. When i entered an hunting ground and a BeastDog(blue) Predator with 3( i think) heads this happens: Access violation "Dun tg dlll" address 66E55A3 and offset 00000000 of type Read occurred.
@kenlan

Master Miyagi can be found behind the waterfall if Tyr-Anon village once you have the ship Inceptum, but cannot be recruited until all your heroes reach level 99. That probably won't occur until much later in the game.

Did that crash error occur when the predator at the hunting grounds attacked you and initiated a battle? The only beast dog with three heads is Cerberus. If so, I can guess the error with that particular plugin. I'm looking into it, and it's exactly what I thought. Tens of thousands of tedious key strokes will almost certainly result in a few errors. The plugin tried to reference a monster that didn't exist. Easy fix for the next patch.

Thanks for the bug report, kind words, and encouragement! Unfortunately the official version of rpg maker 2003 does not support DynRPG plugins, which have become integral to the game. This is unlikely to change, so no commercial version is possible without a complete remake on a different engine.
Yes, it was the Cerberus and direct when he attacked.( 2 different places so now i avoid that battle, so you have right with what to fix i think)
Yeah, i found the waterfall yesterday, after alot of visits there ,i understood that i should go a little longer. I am around level 68 now and going to
The Forgotten continent, so yes it will take some time before i need him

First you need to find the Chronoprism item on the summit of Triangle Mountain, the bonus dungeon atop Triangle Island. Then return to the Tower of Auctus after getting the airship (if you don't already have it). There's a new entrance to the tower through Terra Cavus from the west (left) side. Find the statue of this character while carrying the Chronoprism in your inventory and press the action key next to it to begin a cut scene.

This quest can also be started by talking to General Dianyn at the Battle Arena in the main hall, after getting the airship.
Ok.
Thanks for always fast help.
One time my airship dissapear,i was on the east con..and the airship seems to be on rhe west.I don`t took any notes and thinked you must already heard about it, and it was one time only and no big deal.

Actually, I haven't heard of an issue with the airship appearing in the wrong place. Did the graphic on the minimap seem incorrect but the vehicle was where it was supposed to be? Or was the airship not accessible from its indicated position? Did you fix the error by reloading a save, or by exiting and re-entering the world map?

Some behind the scenes code runs for the airship that replaces it with a dummy graphic. It's absolutely possible it was directed to the wrong screen coordinates somehow.
i reloading a save. The minimap seems to show correct. But the airshop had suddenly jumped to another continent . I think i was when i came out from a town at the east continent the airship was gone.
Only happens once.
I``mgonna study this game more careful, find Mr C, and alot of treasures. This must be schockfull of secrets and i don`t know how much time i putted down already, hahaha. It`s only a pleasure.
Reborn + around 25 levels right now.
I can`t understand why folks bying crappy RPGMaker games on Steam when most of the best is free and here. Done by talented guys with years to put into them.
Of course there is good games on Steam too, like JimmyATP and more.

Hubris is a special attack that damages based on the number of enchantments the target has (Might, Focus, Protect, etc). If your hero has no enchantments, he or she will receive no damage. If you have equipment that automatically bestows an enchantment, you might want to remove it to lower the damage. A number of bosses employ this attack as an anti-enchantment tactic, instead of a dispel skill.
ok,thanks. Now i understand. Will take on him afterwork .
Feels a little empty when games that i have been playing for weeeks(months?) is near the ned. And this must been the maybe longest,at the other side it feels great to come to the end and have been doing it all.

Well, if you haven't finished the main quest yet, you still have an extra bonus dungeon, the Tomb of Khaer Magnus, to look forward to after finishing the game for the first time and starting a continue+ or new game+ save.
ok,thanks. That tomb is a "must" see. :) .will take a look if i will choose continue or new game+.
And i have still that uberdemon thing to kill, i didn"t stand a chance then.
Is there a walkthrough for Everlong? I want to start the game, but I don't have much dedicated time each day so I need a guide to help me keep track as I go. Thanks!
Hi.
Yes there is Hilbert,i send you anP M because i`m not sure about the rules. Google is our friend :).(sometimes).
EDIT 2:I worked it out,(wow, this game is so excellent). In the Tomb of K... how to solve the puzzle with three pillars and one button
in the room below the first crystal(of 16 i think)
. Can`t see it good enough on the lets play. I spent around 130-150 hours on this and it`s really Everlong :):
EDIT:I have the 3 pillars at the same right places, like in the you tube lets play. But i`m stuck at the right side and can not do anything more.In the video the person is above and jumps down and goes to the chest. How to get there? Should i press the button after i put the pillars right?I pressed it directly.

There's been walkthroughs for previous versions of Everlong, but I'm hesitant to link any because they might not be particularly accurate anymore.

The game does have a journal and map with waypoints, so even if you take breaks between playing, you can hopefully be reminded enough where you're going next and why.

I'm not sure which puzzle you are referring to. Maybe the Illusionary Height Blocks on the upper level of the block push room? That's what the help totem will refer to the puzzle as. The switch accessible here is to gain access to another puzzle room, Lava Bridges. It's not linked to getting the chest.

If you have the correct pillars in the right spots, the hero automatically jumps when you try to step past the railing when on the above level. The tallest pillar goes at the bottom jump spot in the area. The shorter pillars belong at the upper to two jump spots. To get to the above level after positioning the pillars, back track through Puzzle Complete, past the sarcophagus in the wall, past the vine, and up the stairs, circling left past the snakes statues at the flame pit and then down to the first jump spot.
Discovered some bugs.
1) If you choose default for Sammy at Master Miyagi, he will have single handed weapon.
2) Libra skill doesn't do anything at all.
3) You can't kill Undine in Boss rush at the arena.
